My little trip...

[6:31AM, Friday the 27th of February, 2004]

Well, I am back home. Rather disappointed too. What I was going up for- a TV competition- was cancelled. The presenter had laryngitis. The team could hardly believe our ears. We originally thought our teacher was messing around with us but no. He was telling the truth. So it was cancelled. All the supporters came up, and we still did everything, but no competition. Not until the 15th of March will we be going up for it again. Aah well. Tis a mighty crying shame. I don’t really feel like going into a detailed account of the stuff we did up there. Not only do I not have enough time, I am too lazy.

I’ll just give you a brief synopsis.

Tuesday: Went up Tuesday from school. Picked up my stuff [sleeping bag, clothes etc.]. Sat in car and ate lollies and chatted with the others on the team. Were told on the way up that it was postponed [by then it was too late to cancel everyone coming up and stuff though]. Watched the Fremantle Dockers [a football team (AFL)] train. Went to a nice restaurant and shared a seafood basket with one of the others. Saw a funny sign that said “Don’t feed the seagulls or they will S.O.Y”. Guess what that means ^__^. Went to our lodgings at a motel, then went to an open-air cinema viewing of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Went back to the motel. Chatted and mucked around until midnight, fell asleep.

Wednesday: Woke up at 4AM to the radio sounds of ‘Hey Mama’ coming from the radio [which I purposely had left on]. Rolled over and fell back asleep. Woke at 6:30 and got up. Wandered around the room for a bit then watched cartoons until eight. We went and had a Macca’s breakfast. Back to the Motel, pack up, and meet the supporters who came up that morning at this museum. We were given brochures and had to go through the city down to the Barrack Street Jetty. Ferry to the zoo. Wandered around in the zoo [going the opposite way to everyone else, just my luck]. We left and went to our new lodgings at a camp school. It was terrible. Played about an hours worth of rabid ping-pong in the living-area there, that was good. Went out to a movie [Along came Polly]. Then had chips and went down to the beach at about 10:00PM. Left at about 11:00ish. Went back, stuffed around, went to bed. Was asleep within 15 minutes.

Thursday: Woke at 6:00 as we had to be out by 7:30. Had a shower in the awful shower-block, then had breakfast [Rice Bubbles] and made lunch. Played a few more rounds of ping pong. Left the camp-school and headed for Sci-tech [Like a big science place for the family]. Spent a few hours there. Then we had lunch at a park and went to a hospital for about an hour to look at the Neuro-Medicine wing. Hopped on the bus and came home, stopping at a shopping-centre for 45 mins to wander around. Got back home, had take-away for dinner and went to bed.

Not as brief as I was planning, but briefer than it could have been. My little File Organiser has sounded it’s alarm so I am off to make my lunch and get ready for school. I’ll finish this in about 50 minutes….

….

Well, I am back now. Ta-da. I am thinking of skipping first period to finish of my maths homework. Still got three questions to do, and it’s due second period. Iyeh! Shocking.

I wonder what has been happening on OB and mO these past few days. Knowing my luck, the new mO we were told about in James’ post has probably been implemented. Aah well.

This is so exciting. All this new stuff is coming along, and we, being part of what I would dare to call the Primo online community, are getting it all! How lucky are we? Seriously. We lucked out that Adam would get anime-fever. We lucked out with him finding James, we lucked out with Justin. Mars too, even though I don’t know him.

Basically we are very lucky people. I find myself repeating this often, but these people are due a serious thanks.

Mood: I’m good.
Song: None.
Births: AD 274: Constantine, Roman emperor
Deaths: 1985: Henry Cabot Lodge, US politician and diplomat
Occasions: Feast day of St Alnoth, St Herefrith of Louth, and St Leander of Seville.
On this day in…: 1933: The German Reichstag (parliament building) in Berlin was destroyed by fire; it is believed that the Nazis were responsible, though they blamed the communists.
