   Hmmmm. . .

.:Bbast:.

I would suggest to never clean a week old cat litter box. . .P-Uuuuuu, it smells! Anyway, here's the rest of my prologue!

Recap. . .
Cries of babes filled the air as the king cried, "Retreat! make haste back to Lacitrial. If we reach there, we will have a chance."

But there was no chance for the elves that night. The trolls had completely hemmed in the elvish party. Women and children fell back as the male warriors made a final stand. Fighting was everywhaere. Suddenly, a giant troll threatened the fair human woman and her child. The elf husband was too far away to come to their aid.

"Quickly!" cried the lady, handing the still sleeping babe to a nearby handmaiden. "Quickly, take the child and flee. Her life depends on thee."

"What about you, my Lady? Where shall you go?" asked the maiden.

Breathless with fear, the woman replied, "Give me your sword. I will hold this beast back. Now fly!" And with that, the lady grabbed the weapon from the maiden's outstretched hand and bravely faced the monster. As the maiden ran with the babe clutched tightly to her breast, the giant's laughter as he slew the woman filled her ears.

The moment the giant's blade slid into the lady, it was as if time stood still. Everyone watched as the beautiful figure crumpled to the ground, the elven people in horror and anguish, the trolls in amusement and glee. No one noticed the girl with a child run silently pass the fighting, unchecked tears flowing down her face. But the ground told of her passing, her footmarks left for all to see.

When the fighting began again, the husband was a wild man. Grief was written on his face as he mechanically hacked through troll flesh and armor. He was fighting his way to his lover's body, whom he then stood guard over. No troll could even lift a blade in defense before it was cut down. He suaght out the giant in the fighting, but it was in vain. The large troll had left to kill his next victim, the king.

The maiden ranblindly on, breathing hard. She knew the trolls, after slaughtering the elves, would see her tracks and quickly pursue her.

Soon she came to the mother of all birch trees, a tall, majestic being. Qiuckly looking around, the maiden gently placed the sleeping babe into a small ditch between two roots of the massive tree. Then she covered the baby with her own cloak.

"Take care of this little one." She murmered to the birch. The tree seemed to creak and rustle in acknowledgement. Knowing that the trolls could not get at the sleeping girlchild, the elven maid ran into the surrounding darkness, planning to lead the beasts on a night-long chase far away from the child.
..........................to be continued......................

Yeah, so that's my story so far, and I dunno if I should continue or not. I wrote this like, four years ago, then stopped, cause it was easier to imagine it then write it down.=^^= I know it's silly, but please be kind and tell me your opinions!.
