Stop swearing, you ****!
I am such an idiot for watching SuJu's Mystery 6 alone in my house at 10 PM. I swear, throughout all of the episodes' intros, I was clinging onto Remy with one arm and a pillow with the other. ^-^;;
Above is the intro to episode one for anyone who wants a shot glass-sized dose of asian horror. Hopefully someone else out there finds it scary too, and I'm not just being a huge wimp. ^^ Comments (0) |

APPARENTLY, THIS IS NOT SUSHI. It's a Korean dish called kimbap. I always assumed that anything rolled in rice and dried seaweed is makizushi, but I guess that's just me being ignorant.
Anyway.
- I finally fixed Remy's glasses! Well, sort of. I really just bought a tube of super glue and glued the rim back together, but what works works. :)
- I decided to put my PS2 to good use and rented Final Fantasy XII. Haven't played a minute of it yet because fandom is horribly distracting.
- I have decided my favorite of all thirteen members of Super Junior is Han Geng, the famously random Chinese guy who was put into the group to help with SuJu's international appeal. (LOL SRSLY.) But what a wonderful random Chinese guy he is.
Snoopy found his inner schoolgirl.
There was a wig I bought for Remy a while back that ended up having too small of a wig cap for him. So my mother and I decided to put it to use in other ways:
That is the new necklace. And for the record, no, I didn't buy him a new wig; I just tied back his hair. :3
Also, this is Super Junior. They are very addicting... although I still can't get all of their names straight. Comments (2) |

You no fly to the sky. You DOWN to the sky!
My sister treated me to lunch yesterday at a place nearby her house called Sushi Station. It was the first time I had ever been to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, although I had already known how the whole process works. The sushi was put on different colored plates according to its respective price: sushi on white plates cost $1, pink plates were $2, etc. It's a good way of trying out new sushi, since the portions are essentially sample sizes; I decided to muster my courage and try "medium rare" scallop sushi, and it actually wasn't half bad.
We went to Mitsuwa afterwards where I bought a pint of plum ice cream (the same as the one I had seen at the Korean grocery), a cup-sized container of red bean ice cream, chocolate soymilk, onion bread, yakisoba bread, a fruit sandwich, and a pack of potato croquettes because of Honey & Clover. I also bought a pack of melon Collon and Crunky just to say that I've eaten them. :3 Comments (0) |

Potato Noodles & Bamboo Salt Flavored Toothpaste?
Earlier today I walked over three miles to check out a well-known Korean grocery store I had heard about online. I mainly came for the snack aisle, though there was a lot of food there that I had never seen in other Asian groceries before. Apparently Koreans love their soy drinks, as there were tons of strangely flavored soy milk there. WTF is cider flavor? How can you have a drink flavored as another drink? I WAS SO CONFUSED. They also had plum and lychee flavored ice cream that I was incredibly tempted to buy, but I figured they would just melt during the walk back home.
In the back of the store was a small area called the Snack Corner, which was basically a tiny restaurant with a menu filled with Korean food that I don't know how to pronounce. Though I'm determined to order something whenever I next return to the store, even if I have no clue what the hell I'm eating.
I only bought a few things: a mini pack of red bean ice cream mochi, tofu cookies, mini pole chocolates, and melon soda. I was VERY disappointed to find out that the store didn't carry DBSK Pocky. They have Hello Kitty Pocky, but not DBSK? FOR SHAME.
My mother asked me why I didn't just go to the smaller, but closer Korean grocery stores around the neighborhood and I asked her, "Would those stores be cool enough to carry Korean Cheetos?"
Officially back in Chicago. I would do a more thorough post, but I have a million things to download, so for now I'll just type out this list of merch I lugged back from Cali:
- A pink kitty ears hat
- A stationery set
- A necklace for Rem
- Two special edition DBSK singles (Anime Expo FTW)
- Two boxes of chocolate covered Macadamia nuts
- A sticker set from The Stupid Factory
- An "I <3 Sushi" wristband
- An oyster with a cultivated pearl inside
God, it is good to be back home. First thing I'll do tomorrow is drop by Super H-Mart in search of sushi rolls and DBSK Pocky. 8D Comments (1) |
