I just finished watching the third episode
Hana Yori Dango 2: MANSION MANIA. I think my mom had a point when she said that my primary interest in this show is the clothes and the scenery and the guys. XD
Also the series has really opened my eyes as to how much of a difference bangs and glasses make towards how a person looks. Compare:
They're like before-and-after shots. For a second, I seriously thought they had switched actors! It makes me wonder if some of the geekier-looking guys at my school would look that much better if we just changed their hair a little.
I skimmed through the first two episodes of the Nodame Cantabile anime. When comparing it to the live-action series, what surprises me most is how much more silly the live-action version is; the slapstick and facial expressions are much more pronounced and exaggerated in the live-action. I was also surprised at how much more attractive Saiko is in the live-action, when it's normally the other way around. Compare:
Pretty --> Much Prettier
And they skipped over one of my favorite Saiko-related scenes: when Saiko blatantly rejects Chiaki in favor of the "hammy" conductor who's studying abroad.
I also started watching the 2nd season of live-action Hana Yori Dango. I had almost forgotten how addicting that series is! In comparison to the first season, it seems that they've really stepped up the production values. There are a lot more extravagant clothes, extravagant jewelry, extravagant parties, extravagant hotel rooms, etc. It's all quite nice to look at. :D Comments (0) |

It's Final Fantasy: College Style
This is actually something I've wanted to post for a while now. It's basically a great live-action parody of the Final Fantasy games, particularly FFVIII, I think. Find the rest of saga here. Comments (3) |

Good news! I was checking eluts to see if they sent out my order, when I noticed that a limited edition set of doll clothes that I had originally wanted was miraculously back in stock. So on the spur of the moment, I asked luts to cancel my previous order and bought the limited edition set instead!
Better yet, this set doesn't cost too much more than the original order, so my mother didn't mind covering the difference in price. I really hope the transaction works out, since I've made mistakes while paying in the past. (I, apparently, don't know how to use the internet.)
i don't know, i don't care, all I know is you can take me there
Six things this year that made me, in no particular order:
Laugh
1. The Office, The Daily Show & Colbert Report
2. Conversations with my family
3. The daily banter between my classmates and I
4. Many anime/movies I've watched, Ouran High School Host Club in particular
5. Myself
6. Tabloid fodder
Cheer
1. Whenever I've outsmarted my brother at anything
2. Seeing the Cirque du Soleil show for the first time
3. When Remy arrived in the mail
4. The Pillows concert
5. When a classmate of mine talked back to my Bio teacher when she was being stupid
6. Certain parts of the Olympics
Cry
1. Arguments with my mother
2. Arguments with my mother
3. Arguments with my siblings
4. My own stupid mistakes
5. That episode of Gankutsuou, as well as some other anime and movies
6. Apathy
Cringe
1. The bad movie/music tastes of other teenagers (Mini-rant: I honestly think teenagers are responsible for almost all of the bad movies/music in America because we'll eat up any crap that comes our way. Case in point: most horror movies and rap music.)
2. Certain things that have happened around this site, and I'm not just talking about the articles section
3. The fact that I've grown fond of a prat like Liam Gallagher
4. Utterly failing at NaNoWriMo
5. Bad grades
6. Poorly constructed/flat-out stupid comments of other people
Think
1. Almost all of the movies I've watched
2. AP Lit class
3. Essays, both on this site and elsewhere
4. Some anime
5. Whenever I write something
6. Just about anything (I'm a very contemplative person. Some describe me as "spacy.")
Believe (What a vague category.)
1. All the wonderful people I've met both online and off
2. Knowing that there's still a lot of good in even the most rude or insulting of people
3. Knowing that I have a great life despite the occasional meltdown
Christmas
I got a couple sweaters and a really nice coat. As mentioned in my previous post, I got a Borders gift card, which I've already used up. I also got a webcam, though I have no idea what to do with it at the moment.
As was also mentioned in my last post, I ordered the Beatles CD for my mother, though it hasn't arrived yet. Unfortunately, I don't have my Oasis CD yet because of a couple complications. And every minute I don't have that CD, I die a little on the inside.
I watched both Casino Royale and The Pursuit of Happyness on Christmas Eve, and Rocky Balboa on Christmas Day. IMO, Casino Royale was by far the best movie of the three. Who knew that a blond Bond could work so well?
Not related to Christmas, but I finally ordered clothes for Remy. I got him an expensive parka along with an equally expensive pair of beige cargo pants. They're very nice-looking though, so I suppose it's worth it.
Interesting tidbit of the day: Just found out that the bassist of Asian Kung-Fu Generation cites Oasis as one of his favorite bands. I like AKFG a little more now. :) Comments (2) |

Things I'm probably going to get on Christmas:
1. Oasis: Morning Glory CD
2. Borders gift card
3. Beatles: LOVE CD (Actually, I'm buying this as a gift for my mother, but I consider it a gift for myself too.)
4. Translated Twelve Kingdoms novel
5. MONIES
Anyway, just for a change of pace: LOTR The Way It Should Have Ended
