Can you do Tim Gunn singing Closer by Nine Inch Nails?
This is why Project Runway redeems all of reality television.

And by "this" I mean Daniel Vosovic being cute. Why is it that the cutest, most easily lovable guy in the whole show is gay? Life sucks. :(

Also: riceballs are tasty even without the plum filling. :D

About being a fangirl in the deepest sense.
My recent surge of interest in that-English-band-I-haven't-stopped-talking-about-the-past-couple-weeks prompted me to ask myself whether I'll ever be as deeply attached to a band as I was in middle school.

I don't think it would necessarily be a good thing. It's far less damaging for someone to like a band (or an actor or artist or whatever) for their work alone rather than carrying all the emotional baggage that comes with liking the musicians themselves. But it's very difficult, perhaps impossible for some, to really devote yourself to something without embracing all aspects of it. Lord knows plenty of Lennon fans probably feel that way, and I think I believe it too.

I don't know if I ever really want to go back to those days. There's something very painful about attaching yourself to people you'll never really know or be able to give back to. But at the same time, I learned and felt a lot of things that I never would have experienced in the dozens of other hobbies I've caught onto throughout my life. I do miss it sometimes.

I suppose my real point in all this is to warn those who find themselves fangirling or fanboying over a person for the first time (a person, not a character, because it is an entirely different experience) to prepare themselves for a world of frustration along with that deep sense of respect and fascination.

To add some actual music to this post that's kind of about music, and more importantly to show off my latest "most favorite band EVERZ," I'll throw in a music video:

And I apologize if I freaked anyone out with this sudden sentimental babble. I've never been obsessed with anything in my life, but I'm often extremely dedicated. :)

grunge means pseudo-crappy music made by people affected by adverse weather
Interesting fact of the day: According to my Wikipedia snooping, Johnny Depp is friends with the Gallagher brothers. Holy crap, does that man get around. I don't think it would be a stretch to say that Depp is more active in the rock music scene than the acting scene. Then again, rock stars are more known for being anti-press and getting into fistfights with photographers than actors are, so perhaps that's the draw for him. :3

On a not-so-related note, here's a clip from I Love the 90's, posted primarily for the first section on grunge music.

Gotta love Trey Parker's Eddie Vedder impression.

all your dreams are made | when you're chained to the mirror with a razorblade

Quotes to Last You a Week

Me: During the past couple weeks, I've spent my free time rereading Harry Potter, playing old N64 games, and listening to tons of Oasis songs. It's like I've flashed back to ten years ago.

Dude whose name I forgot: (about Death Note) I'd be scared too if I had to go up against a freaking letter. Jesus Christ.

Mom: You didn't wear your scarf. Didn't you read the note I left you?
Me: Yes, but I chose to ignore it. :D
Mom: Oh, fine. Then tomorrow I'll leave you a note that says, "I don't care if you freeze to death."

Me: Journalism so far has been kind of like the menstrual cycle. Nothing happens for a few weeks, then for a week or so, a load of crap is suddenly dumped onto you, and you just have to deal with it.

Also, I added one of those Last.fm tracklist things to myO, if not just to see for myself how erratic my music-listening habits are.

Here are a couple music videos that everyone-and-their-grandmother have probably already seen. But I'm posting them anyway, because damn it, I just can't stop watching them.

Oasis - Wonderwall

Yay for Britpop?

Admittedly, I don't really know the band itself very well. Though from what I understand: Liam Gallagher = Total Asshole. I still like the music, of course, but what an asshole.

OK Go - Here it Goes Again

Yes, the infamous treadmill video. Treadmills scare me, so I'm probably the only teenager in the country who has zero interest in emulating the dance myself. Still fun to watch, though.

In relation to my last post, I find it fascinating that many popular comedies, comedies that use a lot of low humor, are written by Ivy league graduates and other such very intelligent people. (Case in point, the guy who plays Borat is actually a British man who attended Cambridge.) I guess I find this particularly interesting because it goes directly against the beliefs of people like my father, who think smart people spend all their time listening to classical music while reading Karl Marx or something.

Now go watch MC Chris rant about Kingdom Hearts 2 and Resident Evil 4.

Remy's shoes came in a while back. They're very cute, even my mother thinks so, though she insists that they're girls shoes.

A few things I realized during Thanksgiving break:

1) My hormones have been driving me insane. I know I'm a teenage girl and all, but wow, it's like I want to fling myself at every remotely good-looking guy within a mile of me.

2) I don't like the taste of lobster.

3) Bravo channel = new guilty pleasure.
