In light of this, I'll have to join the choruses of fans asking, what the hell is Capcom trying to pull?

I'm not terribly bothered by the fact that the lead isn't Dante, but I still think it's strange. I'll get over it probably, but...

Admittedly, I'm more confused over how the magazines insist on calling Nero a new character. Even though he looks just like Vergil. And his name screams Nelo Angelo. But no, he's not Vergil, he's "new."

(EDIT #2: Unless he's Vergil's son, to which I say, WTF.)

at least I'm still alive to rush off to the next worst moment of my life.
First day of school and I'm already exhausted. Case in point, it's 8:00 right now and I only just got home, partly because of my after-school journalism class and partly because I went all the way downtown to visit a huge library that ended up closing 15 minutes after I arrived. Bah.

Anyway, just so you all know, I'll probably have very little time to do any article writing (outside of school assignments) during the next few months; I'm currently taking AP Lit, Creative Writing, and the aforementioned Journalism. Add in the upcoming NaNoWriMo, and I'm going to be writing all the damn time.

So yeah, I already feel pretty overwhelmed. Wish me luck. x_x

The Devil May Cry 4 official site has been launched! Well, kind of. All it currently has is a short flash intro and the new logo, as well as a countdown to something. (Probably a trailer. Fucking finally!)

The text in the intro says:

From that day forth... my arm changed...
And a voice, echoed...
Power...
Give me more power!

Most people are speculating this indicates that Dante's arm becomes possessed/infected by something in the game (apparently, one of the earlier models of RE4 featured Leon with an infected arm that eventually became a weapon), or that Dante's Devil half is starting to take control over his human half. Some also think that it might be Vergil on the logo, but I'm inclined to believe it's Dante.

Ah well, according to the counter, I suppose all this will be cleared up in 7 days.

Video game stuff aside, a couple days ago, I bought some really pretty fabric to use as a cover for a table I'm decorating for Remy. I also bought a few batches of those small fake flower decorations with wire stems. I'll try to take a picture of everything once it's finished. :)

Especially when no one values life as much as I do... Jesus! Christ, how many bullets does it take to end your worthless existence?
Just so I have an excuse to pimp the LJ comm for the fiftieth time, a new user posted a really well-written essay on the importance of names in Death Note. (And it has pictures!)

Anyway, I've practiced with the diabolo a bit over the past couple weeks, mostly tossing and catching as well as this beginner's trick called the right trapeze:


I once pulled it off perfectly while at the train station, and the guy next to me said, "Woah! That's pretty cool." :D

And more RE4 babble, since that game really is the most interesting thing going on in my life right now.

My mom was watching me play today, which led to these exchanges...

Me: What the hell is that? *shoots at the Garrador from outside of the cell*
Mom: Why are you shooting him? He's a prisoner. Maybe you're supposed to help him.
Me: ...There's probably a reason why he's chained up, you know.
Garrador: *suddenly comes to life*
Mom: *screams*
Me: Jesus CHRIST. *runs the hell away*

Then at the hedge maze...

Mom: Those dogs are eating your neck.
Me: YEAH, I REALIZE THAT. *throws a grenade at them*

And at this point, I really don't know whether or not I like the piece. (I really should not be writing when it's past midnight and I'm half-incoherent from laughing.) Ah well, go read it anyway. XD

I went searching for RE4 vids on YouTube and stumbled upon this little gem.

It's a trailer for a live-action parody of Resident Evil 4. (Which you can see here.) I've watched the whole thing and I really recommend it to those who've played the game. It's kind of slow at first, but it gets really funny once more of the characters come into play. (Hence my current half-incoherent state.)

EDIT: And their RE1 parody is great as well. *loves on Wesker*

Anyone play Dead Rising yet?

I haven't been keeping up with reviews or the like, but from the commercials I've seen, it certainly looks interesting--sort of like a combination between GTA and the previous Resident Evils.

And on that note, I'm still slowly trudging through RE4. A word on the characters:

My official nickname for Ashley is n00b, inspired by the first time she got herself stuck in a bear trap. God, what a n00b.

Luis seems cool, though I hate that he aims better than me.

Then there's Leon. What a dork. I know that RE games have always had lame scripts, but I could swear that he's channeling Dante with some of his lines. ("Bingo?") I guess Capcom has a talent for corny dialogue.

Anyway, I'm currently writing an editorial for the SOAP comm. (Which now has over 40 watchers. *beams*) It's a quick one, so it'll probably be up within the next couple days.

I don't get why Texhnolyze is showing on Encore Action. As much as I like the series, and though there is some sword and gun violence, a man with mechanical limbs limping around a city and falling down stairs for half an episode isn't exactly my idea of exciting. Ah well, I suppose it's pretty cool that something as out-there as Texhnolyze is being broadcast on TV in the first place.

Anyway, Lunar has been weirdly MIA with their Ouran fansubs lately, so I went out and found episode 18 subbed by FRoP over at Megaupload. Love the ending of that episode. XD

(Note about RE4: I loves my TMP. *pet pet pet*)

EDIT: ALSO, the SOAP comm got over 20 members on its opening day! Yay!
