left, right, left - we all fall down, like Toy Soldiers
Tomorrow, I'm going to the Art Institute with some Japanese classmates to see a Kabuki exhibit. I'll try to write about it here tomorrow night!
I've recently been lurking around the Death Note LJ communities. I hadn't realized it before, but a LOT of Naruto fans I know are also Death Note fans.
and all that he was is just a tragedy
It seems that someone has been rating my articles poorly for no apparent reason.
Three out of my six articles suddenly dropped in ratings at about the same time, with not a single comment from the voter. I don't think that's just a coincidence.
Bah. I don't know whether to be annoyed or annoyed.
EDIT: Sorry for being so anal about my article ratings. Again. Comments (1) |

Temporary pain, eternal shame | To take part in this Devil's chess game
Capcom published their press release of Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition!
It's releasing in the US on the 23rd of this month for $19.99. With my $5.00 coupon from Best Buy, that's $14.99.
The extras on DMC3:SE include:
- New playable character (Vergil)
- Turbo Option: this new feature boosts the game speed by 20%
- New gold orb system: continue unlimited times at the last checkpoint
- Adjusted difficulty levels
- Bloody Palace/Survival Mode
- Movie Mode/Cutscene Theater
- Jester Boss Battle (BLESS YER HEARTS, CAPCOM)
This is going to be so awesome. I honestly wouldn't mind buying SE, even though I paid $50 for the original DMC3.
no lyric/subject today, since all my music files got deleted. woe is me.
Happy belated New Years, everyone!
I wish to take a moment to show-off one of the best works of fanart I've ever seen. Click on the thumbnail below to see the full version.
(Warning: Hints of yaoi. Very slight, but it's still there.)
Madd propz to Yanagoya for creating such a work of art. Honestly, Yana is the only fanartist whose work I completely and consistently fall in love with.
I find this piece to be particularly stunning. The colors, the shading, the expressions - everything is so perfect. I was in total awe when I first saw it. Comments (1) |

one baby to another says, "i'm lucky to have met you"
Happy holidays, everyone!
What did everyone get for Christmas/whatever you celebrate?
I got $40, which makes my total money saved around $150. I'm planning to buy a (very expensive) Luts Delf, which is basically the Korean version of Volks' Super Dollfie 13 (SD13).
I also got a some clothes, manga, etc. My sister gave me an origami kit, which I've been putting to good use. ^_^
I haven't been doing much the past couple days. Mainly, I've just been watching my brother's downloaded episodes of Lost, while also writing my latest article, which will hopefully be submitted sometime next week. Comments (1) |

i'll send an SOS to the world - i hope that someone gets my... Message in a Bottle
If my assumptions are correct, it really bothers me that people on theO use other artist's artwork on their wallpapers without crediting the original creator. Comments (3) |

everything, everything will be just fine - everything, everything will be alright
Next week, I'll be choosing my course selections for the next school year. If all goes according to my freakishly thorough plans, I'll be taking:
H Integrated Math III (Trigonometry, basically)
AP English Lit
H Biology First (a Biology course designed specifically for Juniors)
H Chicago Studies
H Japanese III
Art I
H Creative Writing I
H Journalism I (a course taken during after-school hours)
I'm actually rather anxious to become a Junior. Frankly, my courses this year suck hard. I can't wait to be rid of them. Comments (1) |

i am human and i need to be loved - just like everybody else does Yet "Brokeback Mountain" is ultimately not about sex (there is very little of it in the film) but about love: love stumbled into, love thwarted, love held sorrowfully in the heart.
The NY Times published a glowing, even inspired, critique of Ang Lee's soon-to-be-released Brokeback Mountain. The review itself is actually rather impressive. While I find most critic reviews to be useful, they're hardly ever touching. This one, however, is a worthy exception.
As for the film, it certainly seems like the sort of angst-fest movie that I'd watch. ^_~
For those who have an account on IMDb, you can read the review here.
The Brokeback Mountain trailer can be seen here (Quicktime needed).

I thought you'd died alone, a long long time ago...
Mini-rant: What is up with the blatant misuse of certain songs on AMVs? Using The Killers' Mr Brightside for a Naruto AMV? What were they thinking!
On a completely different note:
I now understand why so many people seem to prefer this version over Bowie's original, which I downloaded months prior to viewing this video. Very pretty. Comments (0) |
