Fanfiction Recc's: Naruto -Itachi
Scarlet - by yamisui
But I knew that this thing would kill and kill and kill until we were all mashed lumps of flesh, smeared across the rubble. I knew it instinctively. And for the first time, I felt true terror.
The best characterization of Itachi I've seen in a long while. Troubling, yet convincing and incredibly detailed. The authoress weaves in situations and encounters I never previously considered, yet now seem almost pivotal to Itachi's development.
Quite impressive.
Patterns - by gelfling
“You are still my brother, whether you like it or understand me, and this cannot be changed. You are my brother, you are my anchor.”
This one is truly lovely. Sasuke's past and present relationships, mainly of Itachi and Naruto, and how each affects the others. Mostly composed of snippets of dialogue and short scenes.
This fanfic is written in a very simple, minimalist style, which helped me realize that sometimes what's being said is so much more important than how it's said.
[WARNING: Mild yaoi - NaruSasu - but not anything terribly distracting]
Picture Perfect - by ME! ^_~
"It's not wise to be so trusting of others, not even your own family."
"Not even you?"
Itachi smiled in a way that made Sasuke slightly uncomfortable, then wordlessly walked past.
Their family, seen through a young Sasuke's eyes. A series of short drabbles, one for each Uchiha family member.
A subtlely dark mood throughout, with a pinch of irony.
