Because it's stupid to pretend all men in the world must have beards and razors in their throats.
So I was immersed in my now-daily ritual of geeking out on various video game boards when I stumbled upon a thread calling for game developers to stop making their male characters such pretty boys and start beefing them up.

LOLZ.

So I piped in with the comment: Abandon the pretty boys? Aww, but where would that leave all the twincest-loving fangirls?

Which led to:

--fangirls??? i thought girls liked manly men not guys who spend more time in the bathroom than they do.

--You would think so. And then you meet the Final Fantasy fangirls and see their obsession over the girly men in those games. That's borderline lesbianism.

Seriously though, I do sometimes wonder why there aren't more macho, Solid Snake-type men in anime in particular. Personally, I've found myself more attracted to less effeminate, more realistic, and yes, more macho-looking characters as of late, and I'm sure I can't be the only one.
