He just---I just----NO!
NO! NO! NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOO!

John just beat me again! This time, I was so, so close!!!!!!!!! I had 8000 LifePoints almost the entire duel! I got him down to 800 before he started to come back. 800!

Without going into too many details, he got out a strong monster, and I had none. He got one successful attack in, and then I destroyed it. Then I draw no monsters, and he attacks with two puny ones. Then he gets out one of moderate strength, and I still have nothing. I can't do anything to stop him, and he wipes me out! He was at 500 by the end of it!

*shakes head and wrings hands in frustration*

And he's not very gracious about it, either. v_v

enricopalazzo24: damn my deck is awsome
enricopalazzo24: i love what i created

*Ben's Dislike of John level goes up another notch*

Bah. I'm such a sore loser. >_>

On another, much better and much more awkward note, Christina called me! ^____^

I had said I should call her, but I doubt I ever would have. I'm just not very comfortable talking on the phone, unless it's with someone like my dad or mom or something. Immediate family I can deal with. Girls I have the most trouble with, even if I've known them for....years. =P

So, yes. Christina called in the midst of my duel with John. I immediately ditched him and went downstairs to pick up the phone.

She hasn't often called me before, so just about every time she asks me: "Do you know who this is?" Of course, I could never forget a friend such as her. I was tempted to feign ignorance.

As far as I could tell, she had called just for the sake of talking to me. She had received my postcard from Maine, and had talked to Victoria at some point about the lobster I gave her. I think she was trying to steer the conversation towards the moose I bought her in Maine (but haven't given to her yet) but I managed to get around it.

So, we talked about the up and coming school year. I told her I had books for her to use, and she told me about how her surgery for this summer was delayed until next summer, so she wouldn't have to miss the first few weeks/months of Freshman year. ^_^

Apparently, Christina has a condition where her ribs are slowly curving inwards, or something. If she doesn't have surgery at some point, I think they could smother/crush/damage some internal organs. Which would not be good.

Often, there would be awkward pauses in conversation. I'd have nothing more to say on a certain subject, and we'd both be frantically thinking of something to say. This is one of the reasons I don't like phones. Silence in person isn't nearly as unbearable as when you can't actually see the person you're talking to. Those moments were very...eh...unpleasant for me.

But, it was great to hear from her. I've seen and spoken to Victoria numerous times over the summer, but just about the only time I saw Christina was when I invited her over for the fireworks. *goofy grin* That was fun. ^__^

Eventually, we ran out of things to talk about. We were both stuck at home with nothing really to do, and so nothing really to talk about. Heh, well, she did wish me luck on my summer reading. =P

She said she would call back some time soon. I both look forward to the call, and I'm incredibly anxious about it. On the one hand, one of my best friends is calling to talk to me. ^__^
On the other hand, a girl is calling me, with a phone. >.>

Oy. Off to summer reading.
