   Okay, so....
Right. Homecoming. You probably all want to hear about it. :p

*rewinds memory of the past few days*

Bzzzzzzt. *STOP*

Mmmmmmm, donut.

...

Not far enough. ^-^;;

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt. *STOP*

Okay, Saturday evening. I was the only one in the house, for one reason or another. I took a shower, shaved, and got dressed in a spiffy blue denim shirt and vanilla khakis. I was hot stuff. ~_^

Christina needed a ride to Homecoming, because her mom was sick and didn't want to drive her unless she absolutely had to. So, as has been the norm recently, we gave Christina a ride. She was dressed in a stylish pink dress and had a wonderful pink shawl wrapped around her shoulders. *le sigh*

My mom had insisted on finishing a movie before we had actually left to pick up Christina, and so Christina and I were both about fifteen minutes late. Fashionably late, in other words. ~_^

There was already a ton of people there. The corridor outside of the cafeteria was lit up, and there were a bunch of tables with assorted snacks and drinks on them. Inside the cafeteria, it was very dim, with multicolored lights swirling everywhere and a DJ pumping music out through a number of large speakers.

For the rest of the night I traveled from friend to friend, pretty much. I danced with Amanda, then I talked with John, I danced with Megan, and I talked to Zach and his date, etc. etc.

Dance Toll: (because I know you're all interested :p)

Amanda
Megan (slow song)
Raine (slow song)
Christina (slow song)

I also danced with little groups of people I knew. I felt rather foolish, but my friends were all doing it too, so it was not terrible. In particular, I danced with my Freshman friends (Tyler, Christina, Paul, Raine, Hannah, Ivan, etc.) because my Junior friends don't dance. XD

Truth be told, that was probably the first time I danced...um...not-slow, for lack of a better description. "Fast" wouldn't exactly be accurate, because I didn't really move all that fast. So, yeah. It was great fun. ^-^

Megan kept on randomly tackle-hugging me throughout the night, covering me with glitter from the front of her dress. She had invited a friend from another school along, and ran her ragged from one place to another. Megan's rather...excitable, and ditzy. :p

I'd have to say, though, that I spent the majority of the night with Raine. We had a blast, heh. We kept trying to get her friend Hannah to dance, and Raine kept forcing people to stoop so that she could rest her elbows on their shoulders. The shoulder-elbow thing is a big inside joke for us. It's hard to explain. =p

She kept trying to get me to ask this guy named Brendan for his screen name. We walked around the throng of people dancing in front of the DJ a couple of times, bringing us close to Brendan each time. I warned her the first time she dragged me around: "If you make me go over there, I will yell 'Raine likes Brendan'."

I guess she didn't believe me. ~_^

She forced me across the room with her, and so I shouted out: "Raine likes Brendan!" Immature, yes. But I get like that sometimes. There's something, I don't know what it is, but sometimes this outrageous sense of humor surfaces in me and I do things like that.

Raine was frantic, and dragged me back to the other side of the crowd. I then proceeded to tell her (at a high volume) that nobody could hear me. Or even if they did, they didn't care because they didn't know me. Or if they did know me, they didn't care what I was saying anyways. I had her doubled over in laughter with some of the things I said (again in full volume against the music). It was great fun. :D

Oh yeah...

Remember how I said Christina was going with somebody else to Homecoming? 0:)

She was with him (James) for the first half hour, maybe. She figured that they were there together, so perhaps she should stay with him. Her "big sister" Morgan (a Senior girl who is supposed to help Christina through Freshman year) forcefully encouraged her to stay with James.

Then, he tried grinding* with her.

To grossly paraphrase a quote: "Hell hath no fury like a woman [who has had a guy try to grind with her.]"

She was very angry, and pointedly ignored and avoided James for the rest of the evening. I don't know if she yelled at him or anything, but she ranted at me for a while. She went on about how he was such a jerk and how she never really wanted to go with him in the first place, and how he kept telling everybody they were going out. She was really steamed. >_>;;

She ended by saying that next dance, she's going with me. ^_^;;

Sadly, the night came to a close. A wonderful evening of fun and dancing done and was over with. The lights sprang on and the crowd dispersed. Christina, Paul, and I helped with the cleaning and stowing away of leftover materials. Christina and I went outside and found my grandfather waiting to take us home.

It was a fantastic night, and I had a great time. ^-^

*Grinding is an unsophisticated modern dancing style which involves two or more partners rubbing their bodies on one another in a sexual manner

Now, for the present. I have homework to be doing, including an English thesis! *shriek of terror*
