STUFF!
o_o;;
I was at Saint Bernard's for 13+ hours today. =o
I was dropped off shortly before 7:44, which is when we have to be in homeroom. Classes went from 7:52 to 1:45, as they normally do.
From 2:00-4:15ish, I worked on the set for The Secret Garden. Today I mostly measured and drew lines to guide the painting that we will soon be doing. I also rolled a whole bunch of a glue solution over a framed bit of fabric, to make it stiff, and therefore better to hold paint.
I screwed up a number of times with the measurements, and many a yard long line had to be erased. >> I blame the measuring stick though; it didn't measure the same as the other two. We proved it. So I used the other ones, and the work was eventually finished a bit more precisely.
Ah, speaking of precisely, Mr. Pukstas, my Pre-Calculus teacher, is nuts! There is so much stuff that he expects us to learn and be able to spout off of the top of ours heads at a moments notice. We need to be able to recognize certain patterns in angles that seem completely different to us. We need to know all of this by heart, by Friday. Friday, when we have our test. x____X;;
After we were done "constructing" for today, Mr. Ayres left and I sat down to do some homework. Random people passed through the auditorium, chatting amongst themselves and fooling around. I finished reading a story for English, and I got some studying done for my History test tomorrow afternoon. My friend Ryan offered to pick me something up at McDonald's, as he was heading there anyways. Lisa had almost freaked out earlier when I told her I was staying at school until the end of practice tonight, and pretty much demanded that I let her buy me dinner. >>
So, Ryan got me a cheeseburger off of the dollar menu to tide me over until Lisa came, about an hour or two later. I gratefully accepted my grinder from Lisa and systematically annihilated it. (Ate it in my usual ridiculously fast fashion >>)
People started to trickle in from all over for play practice. (OMG, They were mostly early!!!11!!1) Lisa did her usual "warm-ups" with them, which involve a number of exaggerated mouth movements, and a bunch of silly things to get people to loosen up. ^-^
I sat off to the side and watched them all act like fools, absently flipping through my script to mark entrances and exits, which it is my job to know.
I really missed out, though. :o There was this one exercise, which I'd never done before. It involved lots of hugging. :0! Lisa would pair people off, and they had to give each other the biggest, most meaningful hug they could manage. We have a number of nice people on our cast. I would have liked to have gotten hugs. ;_;
Ah well, 'tis what I get for choosing to be dull and boring. :o
We went through all of Act I, with only a few touch-ups here and there. For the most part the actors had their lines down, but poor Anastasia, who's playing the main role, was getting so frustrated because she kept forgetting her lines at random intervals. =( You could tell that she was mad at herself, because she did know the lines.
We got through a scene or two in Act II, and then Mr. Ayres and Lisa gave the actors their comments and critiques and such. I was sitting next to Lisa while the actors were on stage, so many of my comments were already reflected on by her. I was more focused on marking off where people exit, where people entered, and where they should be.
Lisa pretty much focused on preparing the actors for the show in terms of their vocal acting and their lines, and I made sure I knew where they were supposed to be and what on-stage actions they were supposed to be doing during the play itself. It works rather well. ^_^'
Practice ran a bit late tonight, to 8:45. My younger sister was waiting inside the school for me, as she and my mom had been waiting outside for about fifteen minutes and were was wondering what was taking me so long. I talked briefly to my fencing coach and told him that I would not be able to be very active in fencing until the play ended next weekend. My coach is cool, though, and accepted that; which is one of the reasons he is awesome. =p
I have fencing practice this Thursday, though, which is awesome because there is no Drama practice! I can actually go to the second practice of the year! Yaaaaaay! From 9-1 in the morning/afternoon, though, I'll hopefully be there working on the set once again.
The play is next week(end), though! Soon the load will be lightened on my shoulders! I cannot wait. =D
I think I've just about done randombling*, so I'm off to finish Pre-Cal homework and sleep! Good night, everyone! See you later. ^_^
*Random + rambling = Randombling
