Yeah, okay. That was weird. And yet good!

Late last night I got an IM from some girl. Now, I'd never seen the screen name before, and I'd never heard of this girl before. Apparently, she found my screen name from my infrequently accessed Xanga, which I use to appease the masses who don't have MyO accounts. =p

Anyways, we got to talking, and one of the things that actually caused her to IM me was the fact that she lives in Connecticut as well. I was like, whoah....somebody I met online who actually lives within five hours of me. :o Actually, she's only about a half hour away. And she comes to Groton just about every weekend with her dad for grocery shopping and such.

I guess you could say we "hit it off" because we talked until quite late, and actually started making plans to get together this weekend. 0_o;; It seems very sudden to me, looking back on it, but as of then it seemed like the most natural thing there was. I mean sure, why not get together? She seemed really nice, and she absolutely adored me. >_>;;

(I was being my usual charming self, you understand. =p)

And yet, some of it wasn't my normal self. It was as if I had adopted the lingo of a unhappy rebel teenager, and yet still acted the same....? I complained about my parents making me pay for my own driving classes (which isn't really an issue with me) and I played it up about how cool it would be to drive (which I'm not...particularly...excited about). But, geez, I sounded just like one of "them." 0_o

The girl sent me pictures, which I guess is a sort of necessary online ritual whenever a male and female meet online, or something. *rolls eyes* She's pretty, but had the whole black hair, black lipstick, black clothes highlighted with bright pink stuff sort of deal going on in the pictures. There were a couple pictures where she wasn't all Goth-ed out, and she had pretty blonde hair. She referred back to that hair color whenever she said something stupid. =p

Eh. I'm reluctant to say anything to my parents about meeting her, as they're a bit uptight about me having anything to do offline with people I know from the Internet. And I can't really ask my sister to drive me anyplace, because she'd go straight to my parents. She had a guy she was talking to online quite a while ago, and it started a whole family argument that didn't cool off for months after she was restricted from internet access. That, and there'd be no living with her if she found out I was meeting a girl.

"Ooooooh, Ben's got a girlfriend!"

>_<;

I'd never live it down.

And the thing is, I'm not naturally an outgoing person. At least, not offline. The girls that actually know me only know me because they've had to spend time with me. It's not like they decided "Hey, that kid looks cool, I'll try hanging out with him for a while." Amanda, Megan, Angela, Angela, and Lisa I met through Fencing; Christina, Victoria, and Raine were stuck in after school Daycare with me at SHS. I don't really have any girl *space* friends in my own grade. >>

Anyways, here's some out takes from my talk with Khristie:

*Khristie says she visits a ton of Xangas randomly*

Legoboy1: So, what made you decide to IM me?
Legoboy1: Or do you IM everybody you come across? :p
PoUrNnKo: I'm not so sure...haha, no, not everyone..
PoUrNnKo: You're just cool, 8-)/
PoUrNnKo: .*
PoUrNnKo: haha

PoUrNnKo: What's your name?
Legoboy1: Ben
PoUrNnKo: Hehe
PoUrNnKo: Cool
Legoboy1: Hence the "Benbo_Baggins" Xanga. :-P
PoUrNnKo: Well, I forgot! I'm blonde, what do you expect?
PoUrNnKo: I'm Khristie.
PoUrNnKo: :-D.
Legoboy1: I know. =p
PoUrNnKo: Do ya now?
PoUrNnKo: That's a wee bit creepy.
Legoboy1: I read your Profile. :-P
Legoboy1: "Buddy Info"
PoUrNnKo: Oh....hahaha...again, blonde.

*me, acting up a storm*

Legoboy1: I'll be driving in a while, though. How scary is that? XD
PoUrNnKo: Haha! yay!!
Legoboy1: I'll be trying to get to school, and end up in like, Massachusetts. :-P
PoUrNnKo: I love being a threat to the world.
PoUrNnKo: Hahahahaha
Legoboy1: And the whole, car to body accident thing. Yeah. >>
Legoboy1: I'd be a major hazard in that respect, too.

*The beginnings of something? And my witty response. =p*

PoUrNnKo: ....I'm starting to like ya, kid..
Legoboy1: Oh no! Quick, block me!
PoUrNnKo: No way!
PoUrNnKo: You're cool.

PoUrNnKo: Lol
PoUrNnKo: Dude, we should hang out sometime.
PoUrNnKo: :-D, because I'm cool like that.
Legoboy1: Yeah, sure. :-P

*after saying something about her previous boyfriend, who dumped her*

PoUrNnKo: there's more men out there...and I think i'm talking to a pretty spiffy one right now.
PoUrNnKo: ;-)

PoUrNnKo: Again, it's the blonde in me.
PoUrNnKo: It's ok.
Legoboy1: It must be nice to have something to blame for every misunderstanding. :-P
PoUrNnKo: Yup, you could just say your a man..
Legoboy1: I....yeah.
Legoboy1: v_v
PoUrNnKo: Lol
PoUrNnKo: It's ok, men are good.
PoUrNnKo: Especially cute ones, much like yourself.
PoUrNnKo: ;-)
Legoboy1: *rolls eyes* We're both so complimentary tonight. =p
PoUrNnKo: I dunno about you...lol, but I'm flirting.

And there you have it. v_v;; Khristie and I may be getting together this weekend, provided I can contact her and work something out. The whole thing feels pretty sudden and yet pretty cool all at the same time.

Uncertainty vs. Positive Anticipation

Yay, conflicting emotions!
