Go, Go, Hero Patrol!
All can thank the delightful Miss Annsie for my latest return to the Otaku community. ^_^
I was perusing MyOs, and I came across her plug for Hero Patrol in the Community Events section of OB. I checked it out, and wrote up a sign-up for it. Shy has such great ideas. ^___^
Shortly after I'd signed up, I received an IM from Annie! Such joy and rapture there was being had by me! =D She had seen my sign-up, and loved my character. So, we chatted for a while, and it was cool.
AND THEN FLAMING BOARS FELL FROM THE SKY AND DEVOURED THE EARTH!
Just checking to see if I still remember HTML tags. :P
Anywho, I've once again been lassoed into the Otaku community. Hopefully I'll be able to stick around and....like....not disappear. =p
So, what's up in the life of Ben? It's exam week! :D
Creative Writing: We didn't have an exam for this class; our teacher didn't really see a means or a purpose. Instead we had to hand in a 5+ page memoir or short story. I opted for the short story. I toyed with a neat little brain-in-a-jar idea. Didn't turn out too well, being written at the last minute. We'll see how that goes. >_>
Additionally, we had to keep journals all this quarter. First quarter I'd done a good job of journalling. Second quarter was abysmal I did maybe three out of the 30+ required, and then lost the journal. -_-;; I need to either find and turn in what little I have, or make other arrangements with Ms. Pam.
AP Psychology: Long story short, I'm auditing half a year of this course. If I manage to catch up on the first semester and learn the second semester, I'll be primed for the AP exam in May, and hopefully the recipient of college credit. =)
So, as a sort of status check, I took the midterm. I'd had regular CP Psych last year, and I copied a friend's entire notebook from first quarter. Only....I tried learning it all again basically the night before the exam.
I got a 63. o.<
But....! I still managed to score higher than some of my classmates who'd actually been in the class learning the entire semester. Go me. :P
I recognized all of the people and names of the stuff I didn't remember, so it's not as if I totally bombed the test. I'm just a victim.....of....of....incomplete learning. ;_;
AP English: I wasn't allowed to do the essay questions because my tuition isn't paid up. So....an hour and a half to do the critical reading section....BOOYAH! :P Have to make-up the essays as soon as my parents pay the bill. Extra time to study....yay!
Honors Calculus: Don't let the "Honors" fool you. It's for those not smart enough for AP Cal, but who have completed the other math courses. I'm in it by choice. :P The exam was fairly easy. Time-consuming, but not difficult. If it weren't for the fact that I always make some minor mistakes, I'd say I aced it. So I'll just say I think I did well.
Latin I: Yay! A whole community of people I can explain my Latin situation to! :D
My Latin grades for first and second quarter were both 100. If I had not taken the exam, and been given a 0 on it, I would have still had a semester average of 80. Say I took it and failed, but not completely. A 50. If I got a 50 on the exam, I'd have a 90 semester average. As it was, I took the exam today and rocked it. I think I had two half-blank answers because I didn't know what certain words translated into. It was....ridiculous.
Environmental Science: The class decided that we'd do a project instead of our exam. And I mean that. Mrs. Garstka had just told us about the project, and then proceeded to prepare us for our exam. Someone in the class piped up: "Hey, let's do that instead of an exam. It was voted upon, and promptly it was so. Mrs. Garstka loves me, and my presentation wasn't all that bad. We'll see.
Networking: Tomorrow I have my Networking exam. I have a study guide and a huge stack of blank notecards to use. I'll be set.....just as soon as I start using them. :P
Theology: This exam is going to be an insult to my intelligence. She gave us the answers to the questions in class last week saying: "These are the answers to the questions on your exam." She didn't list them or anything, but she gave us every shred of information we'd need for the exam and had us write it all down.
Gah. I miss Theology with Mr. Leone. At least then we were learning things. Theology this year has been one long kindergarten art project. Making inspirational cards for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Christmas cards for one another and for our soldiers overseas. Wonderful intentions, really.
But crayons? Markers? Big sheets of construction paper? We're 17-18 years old! It's easy to the point where I'm getting anxious over the exam tomorrow because I know I'll do great on it! That is not normal anxiety! That's just weird!
*pant* *pant*
.....
Uhhhhh......I think I'll just go and study now.....
Toodles. ^-^
