Go figure...
I have a major English paper due on Tuesday, which I intend on working on a lot this weekend. Unfortunately for me, I've got hefty assignments from three teachers, including my English teacher, all due Monday. Given my procrastinating nature, this poses a large problem. I've already put off two of the assignments for a day or two, very much preferring to be with Christina and Victoria.
I started on the English work this afternoon at daycare, reading most of the stories we were required to. Now I just need to finish reading them and answer the questions that were assigned too.
I think I might have started on the History assignment, too, actually. Things are looking slightly better now that I'm thinking about them. Heh, I'm not a total failure after all.
But of course you all knew that. :p
Our entire school got their yearbooks today. What's nice about our school is that the price of the yearbook is included in the tuition, so everyone gets one every year. It's very cool. ^_^
I got a few signatures today, and I've got to round out the collection over the next couple of school days. Today was a pretty easy day as far as school goes. Much of the morning was taken up by Mass and then assemblies about class officers.
Ben's Yu-Gi-Oh Update!
I dueled John two or three times today, I think. I beat him the first time (or two) and then he finally beat me. He got lucky earlier on and wiped out my hand, which had several good (and crucial) cards in it. So, after the duel I traded him my Dark Necrofear for a few cards of his I wanted. I'm a sharp dealer when it comes to trading cards, and almost every time I trade with John I rip him off. His need is just so much greater than mine. He's a fanatic about cards Yugi uses in the show, and I've got no set goals for assembling cards or anything. More power to me, I guess.
I have a tendency to change my decks as soon as John beats one of them, and so tonight I put together a new Direct Damage deck. I put in one of the new cards I got from John, called Lava Golem. It destroys two of his monsters and does 1000 damage to him every turn. (he starts at 8000 LifePoints, which go down with damage) Unfortunately, Lava Golem is an extremely powerful monster that he can use against me. That's why the deck is also packed with stalling cards; to stop the Lava Golem from getting at me.
End Yu-Gi-Oh Update.
I took the bus home after school today and stayed at Sacred Heart until about 5:30. Like I said, I got some work done while I was waiting for the kids to go outside for daycare. I wound up playing Knockout and holding up well against four other people who played basketball for Sacred Heart's team. I was happy. ^__^ Christina and Victoria gave me some more grief about how I said I wasn't any good. :p
We had Jell-O for snack, and then played some more Knockout with just four of us; Christina, Victoria, me, and Tyler. My hands were somewhat raw by the time I had to leave. But, I had learned that I was pretty good at shooting one-handed layups. Better than fowl foul shots, at least.
Christina and Victoria pleaded on my behalf to my dad. They wanted me to stay longer, he wanted me to leave; same old stuff.
We went to my grandparents' house for a little while, where my dad talked about his job situation with my grandma. I'd explain it to you, but I've got things to do tonight, and I want to get them done while I have the time.
I went home with my dad, who left before my mom did. I browsed the Internet for a while, and then ate dinner. I had two very nice salads, both with cheddar and mozzarella cheese sprinkled over the top and ranch dressing. Both healthy and good. Mmmm....
I may have a job this summer, incidentally. My art teacher, Mrs. Kainz, handed me an advertisement she had found from a Photography company that was looking for someone to number and organize negatives, or something. I plan on looking into it. *nods* It seems much better than other work I've been taking a look at.
So, yes. I need to work on my homework so this weekend can be fully devoted to my paper. It's the last major assignment of the year, and I've only just begun to research it. >_> Typical of me, of course.
Of course, just before I decide to leave, I remember something. I got a library card yesterday, and I may have found a book that will help me with When Humans Are The Enemy this summer. I've been looking for books about medieval tactics and weaponry. I know a bit about the weapons already, but I really don't know a lot about how the fighting worked. That seems to me like it'd be a critical part to my story, as the clones employ primitive weaponry on a large scale.
It's nice to think that I'm actually not giving up on it. It gives me a good feeling inside. : )
Currently listening to: "Delirium Trigger" by Coheed and Cambria.
This Day in History: On May 20, 1506, the great Italian explorer Christopher Columbus dies in Valladolid, Spain.
Good Thing of the Day: I discovered that I'm an average basketball player. Who knew? =/
Bad Thing of the Day: Slowly accumulating workload coupled with my tendency to procrastinate is spelling out disaster.
