/moan

I'm not going to update my dead style until mO get's it overhaul, because I'm a lazy fucking bastard. Just so you know.

So, I've been in school for two weeks now, and the only class I can say that I enjoy is English (and maybe Chemistry if you want to push it). Right now we're reading The Odyssey in which the solution to every problem is BURSTING INTO TEARS (You'll understand if you read the book). At every moment, SOMEONE is weeping, mourning lamenting, or otherwise throwing a pointless tantrum. We have to stay on this Island? Let's cry about it. We're tired and want to eat the Sun God's cattle, but Odysseus won't let us? Let's cry about that too.

However, we do have a project on the book, which actually make sit amusing. Normally this would be a bad thing, but the assignment is to write a mini epic and do whatever I can to make it special. So Iplan on writing an increasingly long story (with illustrations) in which HADES IS A BISHIE. That's right, the god of the Underwold is a frail, boyish man with talons. I'll upload the picture sometime soon, as I hope to color it with my -free trial- of OpenCanvas, which is itself the very creation of the Gods.

The title, in case you're wondering, stems from my recent addiction to World of Warcraft. /moan is just an emote, which would come out in the chat box as "Bio moans suggestively at you".

I've been smited?

I'm back from DC. And quite the strange trip it was. Here's some notable things that happened:

A Bible was thrown at me.

The hotel fire alarm went off randomly.

I'm apparently a Hussler.

There's an anti-aircraft gun on a building near the white house.

Someone got lost at the zoo for almost an hour.

Our tour busses crashed taking us home. No serious injuries.

McDonalds is evil.

At least Vendors are neat, right?

it's raining.

I keep wanting to change my style, but mid-way through I always decide it won't be as good the one I already have. So I just kept this one and changed the player-thing a little bit, though I haven't actually gotten it to work yet, lol.

It's finally getting warm enough to open my windows and kill my cold. I've been able to sleep better too. Goddamn, I hate winter. Christmas is the only good part.

The end of winter also means that school's almost out! We're finally in the fourth quarter... only a little bit longer. I can't really complain though, since most of April I'm going to be away from school. I have April vacation on the 18th and our class trip to Washington DC (we get to see our government work/not work). The teachers try to convince us that the trip will be educational, but we're spending almost an entire day in a giant mall. I refuse to learn anything.

FMA, Bleach, and Naruto pwn you.

Your Identity has been stolen.

Yes, I just completely ripped that music code from the ever-omnipotent James. I wanted something that worked with firefox and that I could implement into a cool little music player thingy. Viola.

Apparently there's going to be some sort of mO page event coming up on the OB, so hints James (being enigmatic as ever). Is enigmatic a word? I think it is...

But sí, I'm off to hack my mO more. *goes away now*

EDIT: Whee! Look what I did with my post background! It's all spiffy. Unfortunately, I have to do wierd things with my post to make it look uber-nice, but whatever. The sacrifice is worth it.

I think.

Guild Wars PWNS you!

If you couldn't guess, I participated in the February Guild Wars beta weekend, which, to my great dispair, ended last night. I can't even begin to describe the game's utter awesomeness -- and this is just a beta!

One thing that's most noticable from the start are the graphics -- they're freaking amazing! Particularly the lighting and the faces. They look like REAL faces. Not only that, but everything's just so smooth and realistic and proportional... The environments, characters, effects, weapons... everything's just so damn beautiful.

The gameplay is also great. It's nice sometimes to have to think while playing a game of this ilk, rather than *click* BOOM *click* SLASH. I also liked that you could choose a subjob within the first five or ten minutes (or immediately if you decide to start at the level cap or make a PVP only character). I have bad memories about subjobs from FFXI in particular...

They have a relatively interesting armor system too; you have to find materials and bring them to a crafter to make your character new equipment (which is usually obscenely cool). You can dye the armor too, which is a plus.

The guild capes look awesome too. It's pretty easy to start a new guild (if you do it before you do a quest that destroys Ascalon [takes you out of the newbie area, basically]). All you have to do to make a guild in Pre-Charr Ascalon is get 110 Gold, which at first seems like a lot but really isn't if you find stuff for collectors. You need 10 Gold to make a guild and 100 to design a cape. The capes are just that cool.

There's so much more to Guild Wars than that -- too much to write. I'm gonna be tortured until the next beta weekend.

Why am I sticky and naked?

Hah, I am so pillaging the Underground with my iron fist. Those poor people with no thread ratings have no idea what they're in for. By the end of this day, all the active threads shall have ratings...!

*maniacle laughter*

But seriously, I am cracking down. I've been really lenient about closing threads that don't have ratings, even though I'm authorized and even recommended to so. So I figured I should probably get on that. And I did/am. Booya.

As a sidenote, the OB behaves sort of erratically with firefox. Not only that, but pages just seem to load faster in IE, so I think I'll just browse Otakuboards with that old junker.

Also: the Guild Wars beta is in 8 days. ^_^

I II III I

Well, I finally decided to update this, what with the new style and all. Don't worry Godel, I'll have my harem membership thingy up soon enough, heh.

After much deliberation, I finally decided that I'm going to play both Guild Wars (when it's released, that is) and World of Warcraft, rather than choosing between two. Guild Wars looks so damn awesome, after all.

On the Moon...! O_o

I thought I'd just post this for the sake of holidayness and such. 'Tis a cool poem, after all.

*wanders off to find a machete*

---

I

Hear the sledges with the bells-
Silver bells!
What a world of merriment their melody foretells!
How they tinkle, tinkle, tinkle,
In the icy air of night!
While the stars that oversprinkle
All the heavens, seem to twinkle
With a crystalline delight;
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the tintinnabulation that so musically wells
From the bells, bells, bells, bells,
Bells, bells, bells-
From the jingling and the tinkling of the bells.

II

Hear the mellow wedding bells,
Golden bells!
What a world of happiness their harmony foretells!
Through the balmy air of night
How they ring out their delight!
From the molten-golden notes,
And an in tune,
What a liquid ditty floats
To the turtle-dove that listens, while she gloats
On the moon!
Oh, from out the sounding cells,
What a gush of euphony voluminously wells!
How it swells!
How it dwells
On the Future! how it tells
Of the rapture that impels
To the swinging and the ringing
Of the bells, bells, bells,
Of the bells, bells, bells,bells,
Bells, bells, bells-
To the rhyming and the chiming of the bells!

III

Hear the loud alarum bells-
Brazen bells!
What a tale of terror, now, their turbulency tells!
In the startled ear of night
How they scream out their affright!
Too much horrified to speak,
They can only shriek, shriek,
Out of tune,
In a clamorous appealing to the mercy of the fire,
In a mad expostulation with the deaf and frantic fire,
Leaping higher, higher, higher,
With a desperate desire,
And a resolute endeavor,
Now–now to sit or never,
By the side of the pale-faced moon.
Oh, the bells, bells, bells!
What a tale their terror tells
Of Despair!
How they clang, and clash, and roar!
What a horror they outpour
On the bosom of the palpitating air!
Yet the ear it fully knows,
By the twanging,
And the clanging,
How the danger ebbs and flows:
Yet the ear distinctly tells,
In the jangling,
And the wrangling,
How the danger sinks and swells,
By the sinking or the swelling in the anger of the bells-
Of the bells-
Of the bells, bells, bells,bells,
Bells, bells, bells-
In the clamor and the clangor of the bells!

IV

Hear the tolling of the bells-
Iron Bells!
What a world of solemn thought their monody compels!
In the silence of the night,
How we shiver with affright
At the melancholy menace of their tone!
For every sound that floats
From the rust within their throats
Is a groan.
And the people–ah, the people-
They that dwell up in the steeple,
All Alone
And who, tolling, tolling, tolling,
In that muffled monotone,
Feel a glory in so rolling
On the human heart a stone-
They are neither man nor woman-
They are neither brute nor human-
They are Ghouls:
And their king it is who tolls;
And he rolls, rolls, rolls,
Rolls
A paean from the bells!
And his merry bosom swells
With the paean of the bells!
And he dances, and he yells;
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the paean of the bells-
Of the bells:
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the throbbing of the bells-
Of the bells, bells, bells-
To the sobbing of the bells;
Keeping time, time, time,
As he knells, knells, knells,
In a happy Runic rhyme,
To the rolling of the bells-
Of the bells, bells, bells:
To the tolling of the bells,
Of the bells, bells, bells, bells-
Bells, bells, bells-
To the moaning and the groaning of the bells.

- Edgar Allen Poe, The Bells

And as a side note: damn you, double-posters!

It seems that horse has inexplicably died.

Incidently, it's placenta is filled with conflict diamonds.

CSI is a wierd show.

...

Meh, I'm spent. I've been writing a lot lately, and right now I'm deeply tired de to being deprived of sleep (quite possibly the only thing sacred) over a long period of time.

Pshht. School.
