Paradigm ReDefined
"Sí, perhaps."
TheOtaku's new design kicks ass. The only problem I have with it is the ad baaner placed RIGHT BELOW the site banner. If it were to be put at the footer, that sleezy anime site stereotype would be completely washed away. Moving the banner to the footer would complete the thing.
I finished From a Buick 8 (by Stephen King, no less) today. That book's kinda creepy. I was so hyped up about The Dark Tower series that I forgot the genre of most of his other books is horror. I did however, notice the ties to The Dark Tower that Sir Author mentions so much: (spoilers, by the way)
1. The hum produced by the car.
2. The different worlds.
3. A noticable ka and ka-tet thing going on.
4. The car was obviously a variation (a more malevolent one, mind you) of a Door.
I know there's more, but I can't think of any right now meh.
I was kinda hoping Otakuboards 7.5 (or .1 or whatever) would come out before I had to hit the sack, but nay, Bio is denied arcady goodness until the last hellish day of school before the weekend. The glorious weekend.
And guess what else:
Bio has tired of the repetative songs that play all the time.
I downloaded Jaded, by Aerosmith. I've always liked that song, but I finally decided on downloading it when I realized I had a strong desire to drive a pencil into each respective ear every time a generic pop song came on.
Yay 80's-90's music! Music with some point... I guess... maybe...
Meh.
I also cancelled FFXI. Freedom... maybe. World of Warcraft comes out soon... unless they decide to delay again.
Beam me up, Eddy.

Meh...?
I'm kinda tired, so short update, I guess.
I've decided spontaneously that FFXI is boring again. I've basically given up on online games together; they suck up my time and money. I know, FFXI was obscenely expensive to play, but I'm still not too keen on continually paying anything for something I'm not having a considerable fun with.
After all, when none of your friends (except my brother, but that hardly counts and he's bored too) play, then what's the point? To impress other people? Useless, useless. Fun for two minutes, tedious the next. When the game begins to seem like a chore, it's obviously not worth it.
On a sidenote, I've found that lying in bed and thinking actually makes you feel more rested than simply going to bed. Maybe it's some sort of brain activity thing or whatever that these crazy parents are always telling us about.
*shrug*
I want the Nintendo DS as well. How amusing would Animal Crossing be online? And HANDHELD? Sure, the graphics suffer a bit, but they were nothing to drool over to begin with. Once I get it, I shall put all my villagers in line with my handy shovel.
I abuse the heartwarming aspects of games by abusing the characters.
After all, why would the creators give your character a handaxe? To cut down trees? Pssht.
I'm rather short on money, however. I did spend a good portion of Saturday doing yard work for my third-grade teacher (which got me $40) but I'm still kinda short.
I guess this update wasn't really as short as it was originally intended. Oh well, whatever.
Oh, I have a half-day Wednesday! The same day as I have fencing!
Hopefully we'll get to actually using the swords this time, rather than just doing drills... -_-; |

Comalla come come, there's a young man with a gun
I've recently started playing Final Fantasy XI again, and I have to say, it's better than I thought. Better than it was the first time, because I gave it more of a chance. Higher levels get more fun, and I'm not even that high at all.
The graphics in this game are amazing, especially when compared to other games of its genre. The environment are relatively realistic (not including that damned omnipotent force that prevents me from swimming). There are sandstorms, waves, rain, thunderstorms (with sound), and many other weather changes. It's really neat.
Probably my biggest problem with the game is that, after level ten, you basically need other people. Which means you're screwed if no one will take you in. Soloing gets pointless because it yields less experience and more downtime. It really encourages playing with others, which is a good and bad thing.
right now I'm a level 16 Red Mage on Gilgamesh Server, desperately awaiting level 18 so I can get a subjob and nice un-clunky lizard armor (I actually get that at 17, but I'm too lazy to run to San'Doria or Bastok [both of which take a long time to get to without a chocobo, the latter taking the longest]).
So yeah, if you're on Gilgamesh server, send me a tell.
I've also been reading Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, which is... damn good. It's just really fun to read. It's kind of confusing to explain, you just have to read it. And you should, since most of his books have to do with this series.
In other, less nerdy news, I finally decided to download Windows SP2, which was more of a pain in the ass than anything. What did it do?
1. It gave me a super-special Windows Security Center thing. All it does it tell you what to do. IT DOES NOTHING ITSELF.
2. Aparently updated security on IE. It's about damn time, but I use Firefox anyway, so that doesn't apply to me.
3. Nothing, as far as I know.
So now I have this virtually useless thing taking up spac eon my hard drive. Great.
School. School is not fun. That's about all I can say. I have no particularly insane teachers this year, but none that are particulary sane either. Meh.
Oh, and waking up early completely sucks. I want my sleep, dammit!

*gapes*
Do you believe this?
I didn't think so. In fact, I believe it less than you. But it's amazingly true.
*takes out a notepad and crosses a line off*
Yay. One goal down. Ooo- This means I can write an accomplishment down!
Now I can order that iron fist and have a perfectly justified answer when my parents ask why the hell I have it. ^^
*checks again to make sure it's real*
Woohoo! XD |

When it rains, it pours
The last few days have been filled with thunderstorms and rain. ^^ It's finally cooling tings down. I like thunderstorms anyway, so that's a plus.
Hmm... I want to make a Roleplay, but the ideas I have I'm have trouble applying. Oh well.
I still don't know what to write about... I'm sure school will give me enough material and then some. That does not mean I'm looking forward to it, however. |

Deadly Coolness
Yay! A style I might actually keep for a while!
I know I haven't posted in a while, but I'm too lazy to write anything of length [not to mention there's nothing to write about].
School starts in less than two weeks. That sucks.
...
That's all I've got. ^^; |

I am finally back from Maine, and have contact once again with the online world. The Mac's online didn't work, so sadly I was off the grid for a while.
While I was there, I got re-obsessed with Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, as you can tell from the new layout I've been working on.
Summer Recreation starts monday, which means herding smartass children around. Sadly, I do not get a shock pole to keep them in line, due to something called 'assault and battery with a lethal weapon'. Rec also means waking up at 8:00.
Fun. My friend got a lance at a pow-wow, which I must 'borrow'.

Ronin
Tomorrow I'm going to Maine for vacation, which I don't mind that much. My older brother has a laptop, so I'll still be able to go online, regardless that the laptop is a G3, runs on Mac OS 9, and is [therefore] slow as shit.
But I may enjoy it, that is if the ocean isn't incredibly cold, which it usually is. That's why I tend to like Cape Cod better; luke-warm water. It's quite nice in the vening there.
However, I am going to Maine, and there's nothing I can do about it. There's cable there, and I get my own bed, which doesn't tend to happen on vacations. And since there's cable, I [hopefully] won't miss adult swim, or anime unleashed.
also, my friend, [the one I threw the stick at] took out his own stiches. -_-; He also took out his stiches before, when he gashed his hand with a steak knife, while he was... trying to open a plastic gumball machine... yes, that is escaping the normal limits of human rationale.
So anyway, he took out the stiches by cutting the tops with a nail clipper, and pulling the wires out. And seeing as I hit him on the lip, that must have hurt like a bitch.
Oh, and he's going on vacation the same week I am, but to Mount Rushmore, the entire area which he has dubbed, "hick-ville". Not to insult anyone who lives there, of course... ^^; |

At arms!
For a while now, I've been writing, or planning on writing a science fiction/fantasy/[add random genre] story, but have restarted and abandoned the project numerous times. I'm finally planning on completing at least the first 'book', no matter how bad I think the quality is. |
