Ten games to play before you die
The fourth game to make the list is Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Disgaea appeared on the PS2 in 2003 and had a sequel in 2006, but unlike most games on the PS2, this strategy RPG is mostly in 2D with the maps in 3D.

Disgaea is about a young half demon - half human prince called Laharl who has awoken from a 2 year sleep to find that the Overlord of the Neverworld – his father – has died and now demons from all over the Neverworld are vying for the title of Overlord, so if wishes to take his rightful place as Overlord he will have to fight his way through the hordes of demons, even including former members of the imperial court.

The best parts of this game are:
• the vast number of characters you can create from demons such as vampires, dragons, zombies and succubus, to human characters and even angels;
• the vast number of weapons;
• the ability to customize and upgrade almost every thing in the game even including the shops;
• the sometimes gripping yet funny storyline; and
• the funny and sometimes strange cast of characters.

The bad thing about this game is:
• sometimes the difficulty will suddenly rise to a ridiculous level in the space of 1 or 2 maps; and
• some of the bosses later in the game are ridiculously powerful e.g. your team might be between LV 100 – 150 and the boss is LV 1000.

This is a very addictive game that will keep you occupied for hours on end so go out and get it. Disgaea: Hour of Darkness is available in most good second-hand games stores or should be available on EBay.
