just a thought... your thought...
One of my assignments in my nite skool course is to describe in full detail a character I'll use in a fictional story. I did it, read over it, and thought it was pretty good. I'm kinda curious of what you guys would think of it. I tried to make the character a mix between a Black Mage and yours truely. Well, tell me what you think...
The wizard's name is Tom Talrunya. Tom's general appearence is rather dark. He has fair, pale skin, wears dark blue robes that cover his face and a rather beaten, pointy straw hat that he wears so low, you can only see his eyes. Tom is young, about 18 years old, and only about five feet tall and pretty skinny. He weighs somewhere around 80 pounds. He never takes off his hat, even while he sleeps, so no one is quite sure what color his hair is. Tom, in few words, is a smart-ass of smart-asses. If you happen to say something even remotely open to a joke, Tom will jump on it immeadiatly. He's very well spoken for and has a vast vocabulary. His movements and walking are just as quick as his tongue. He's very nimble, agile, flexable, and can get himself out of almost any situation. He may have a few interesting facial expressions, but none of which anyone can notice due to his hidden face. Though he does have a rather evil sounding chuckle. People can usually tell what kind of mood Tom is in by his actions. He's calm in nature, but don't piss him off. There's no telling when he'd stop. Tom doesn't exactly excell in people skills, but if he has to, he get get along with them just fine. He likes to be a loner. Like I said before, he has a very quick tongue and that tends to get him in trouble a little more often that he'd like. When it comes to buisness, he gets right down to it. Tom's the kind of person that if something doesn't directly benifit him, he doesn't care about it. In general, though, the people of his town of Coneria don't mind him ...much. Tom's personality is actually very fun. He does make fun of alot of people but it's usually just to get a good laugh. He tries to let the victim of his comment know that he was only joking and it was all in good fun, but that doesn't always work. As a peice of advice, you would much rather be a friend of Tom's than an enemy. Tom likes being by himself more than anything. It gives him time to study his spells and his spellbooks. The one thing Tom cannot stand is ignorance. Just plain stupidity. Mainly, he hates the people who don't understand his jokes. Tom has very noticable problems but no one's quite sure what they are. He has a very shrouded past and doesn't talk about it much. Appearently, he had some troubles as a child, but we won't go into that. His troubles do affect him from time to time but Tom tries not to dwell on the past. His sharp, witty remarks are definitely his strong point and his spells to back them up are nothing to huff at, either. He is a very strong wizard with very powerful magic. He does have some control problems he need to work on, however. He once NUKEd an entire forest just to get rid of some racoons that were going through his garbage...
Who knows. If I get enough positive feedback, I might use him in a story and post it on MyO. That seems to be a big trend alluva sudden so I might give it shot and see how far I can take it.
