Great Lakes, Great Times
July 19, 2005
We arrived in Michigan in record time. We’re staying at the Hampton Inn, which is a wonderful place to stay. We ate dinner at a local diner called “Clementines” which was at one point a bank but it was converted into a restaurant. Mother and father had omelets with crab meat, shrimp, mushrooms and cheese. The smell from the omelets was amazing. I had a “Clementine Club”, which was roast turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato on fresh wheat bread. I could only eat half of the incredible sandwich as well as the fries. For dessert, I had a scrumptious apple dumpling, a la mode. It was hot, fresh and fantastic. My parents adored it too. Before we came back to our room #311 (11 is one of my lucky numbers), we saw a mother with a curly haired boy in the elevator. His hair was platinum, which is very rare. Since we had been seeing lots of biracial kids wherever we went, father said—Maybe he’s biracial and she decided to dye his hair. I thought the comment was funny (even though maybe a little racist). It even warranted a chuckle from my mother. Then father told me once more—Don’t marry a black man and have kids. I rolled my eyes and responded as I usually do—Love is love. Biracial children have a harder time than most of other children growing up but with plenty of love, support and good role models, they can grow up to be excellent citizens. I finished Chapter Sixteen of “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince”. It’s becoming very intriguing. Already I know Tom Riddle eventually became Voldemort but I’m not certain who the Half-Blood Prince is (although I already know it’s not Harry). I’m excited to see what happens next. Tomorrow, we are going to South Haven, which is not too far away from where we are lodging. I’m excited to see the big red Lighthouse again. I was hoping we could also visit Holland and Luddington. Even if we don’t, I absolutely adore this part of America. It’s gorgeous !

Today, mother father and I visited the Harbor in South Haven. The breeze was very calming and cool, and the sands were warm and soft in my sandals. Once we had enjoyed the lovely breeze and watching the boats come in and out of the marina (there were seagulls and swallows everywhere) we visited a Celtic store called “Biddy Murphy’s”. An actual Irishman named Ward, who was extremely kind and welcoming, owned it. We bought moonstone earrings with Celtic Knots, an ornament, a map (w/ Irish history) for Phyllis, a bar of Heather soap for Audine, a Welsh dragon ring for Father and a few other trinkets. Afterwards, we ate a restaurant called “Bezzle”. One of the waitresses that worked there had been at Clementine’s the night before and she remembered seeing us there. Mother and I wandered around some stores and I was able to get a couple light houses and a shirt (as well as a magnet). The people that live here are very hospitable, congenial and kind. They have wonderful senses of humor ! Later on today, after supper (we’ll be eating at a restaurant called “The Fish Tale” or an Italian Restaurant on the Black River), father will get some gas from Wal-Mart as well as more film for myself. Since there is a pool here, I plan on going for a swim after dinner. By tomorrow, we’ll be living Hampton Inn by 11:00 Michigan time. Not certain when we will be arriving home but it will be wonderful to see how Lisa and Peanut (although they might be a little upset at the time when they see us) again as well as our neighbors and friends. Lord knows I’m going to have thousands of emails to sort through and most of them will be SPAM.
We ate at “The Fish Tale”, which I believe had exceptional food. I had the best fish and chips I have had anywhere else. My parents didn’t care for what they ate and our waitress was a bit overworked. She seemed a bit surly. Albeit the restaurant was loud and there were some unruly children yelling and acting up, it was a great place to eat. Clementine’s was still the best place to eat though as well as Bezzles. I also went swimming and read more of Harry Potter (Snape is the Half-Blood Prince, but there are still questions unanswered) and I’m almost finished with it. Our final stop of the day after getting film at Wal-Mart (as well as gas), we got ice cream at Sherman’s Ice Cream Parlor. Mother had a cherry soda, Father had caramel pecan ice cream and I had peppermint patty. I wasn’t aware of how generous their portions were but nevertheless the ice cream was sensational. It was uber creamy, very thick, cold and creamy. It was almost like a mint brownie. I couldn’t eat it all but father was more than happy eating it. Though we didn’t travel to Holland or Luddington, we really didn’t have to. It was nice enough just visiting South Haven again.
PS: After writing this journal entry, I now know Dumbledore is killed by Snape (I feel BETRAYED, I thought he wasn’t all bad. Maybe he has a speck of goodness left within him. I hope he can redeem himself), so you know what this means ? Fanfiction.
My latest HP fanfiction will be called “The Rose that Never Fades”. You can guess who the “Rose” is.

Prayers
Father is dizzy and isn't feeling too well. He doesn't excersise and is getting fatter. He also can't breathe well and has to take oxygen with him at times when he has trouble breathing.
My parents are driving me nuts. They are really overprotecting me. I wish they would get off my ass. I love my parents to death, but I wish they would allow me more freedom. I mean, I like talking to my friend, but they don't want me talking to him so much. They're afraid "he'll get the wrong idea", which I think is stupid. I wouldn't do ANYTHING that would lead ANYONE to believe something that was a lie. I wouldn't do anything that would harm someone. I would really REALLY love to be independent right now.
I don't have to be with my parents all the time.
If I wanna talk to my friend, I should be allowed to. I am not going to say anything that will do any wrong. I do not lie. Damn it, sometimes I wish I was never born and perhaps these things wouldn't happen. I just feel like such a freakin' burden sometimes. Maybe I was never meant to be here. Whatever the case, I'm so FREAKIN' Tired of this crap.

Ups and Downs
This weekend was absolutely sensational. I went to the Canal and the White River Gardens with the Singles group from my church and 2 other groups from the Nazareen church. Their members were from age 7 to 82. It was so refreshing to see their group so active. The weekend was super. Sunday I went to see the play Brighton Beach Memiors (which was terrific and the actors were incredible), and Fantastic 4.
Fantastic 4 was well-acted and the characters were right on the money. I was really impressed and I can't WAIT for a sequel.
The downs that I have been having this week are dealing with a guy who won't stop saying he loves me. The guy doesn't even KNOW me, but he bases his love (or probably lust) upon my photos and him hearing what I sound like over microphone. So he's known me online for over a year now. That is NO basis for love...@ all.
Maybe I am being hypocritical but I admit I was in love for a year with my ex based off webcam and voice and what I felt but I learned my lesson. I swear to God, I'm going to be staying away from men my own age/men within marrying age for a while. I'm sick of this crap.

Prayers For London
July 7, an abysmal day for the English
How could something this awful occur ?
No one is certain but those who live carry on
Mourning for those who lost their lives
They will not be forgotten
Those who caused this will be caught
For no evil goes unpunished or unseen
I pray for my beloved friends in London
Those I don’t know, people I’ve never seen or met
God be with them all
May the pain and tears fade somehow
Replaced by feelings of hope
Though it is difficult
The light of hope still exists
Even in this terribly dark tie
Faith will sustain them, as it always has
For nothing is impossible with God
His mercy and judgment are absolute.

Happy 4th O' July !
Some of you already know this but I have a new kitten. Father bought him the day that the horrible incident with Julian occurred. His name is Peanut and we already know he is special. He's very loving and very sweet.
He loves being around people and purrs very VERY loudly (he's just a baby and can already make all that noise). Today I'll be watching fireworks and being thankful for all my blessings. :)

Julian is no longer with us...
:crying: :sniff:
Today is a horrible day in history. Our beloved orange tabby is no longer with us. Last night I heard him crying but thought nothing of it. I thought "that's his I'm lonely cry, nothing to worry about", but this morning we found him dead behind one of our recliners. It seems that he most likely broke his neck because there was blood involved. I said goodbye to him, but that didn't make it any easier. I have done some crying and I am still sad. It's hard to say goodbye to a good friend. To make matters worse and more irritating the guy from the invention agency called and he was a real jerk.
What's even more aggrivating is that I cannot work on another project @ CTB/Kelly because I didn't do well w/ Science so I cannot work on the Evening Shift. Ah, well. No biggie. I am still going to try looking for work. I'm not going to give up. Also, we (my family and I) are planning to go to Michigan (Luddington and South Haven). We have been to South Haven before and seen the lighthouse there. It's a beautiful part of the country and I'm excited to visit it again. ^_^

One Door Closes, Another Opens
Well, I learned today that my scoring ratio wasn't high enough. It was 75%, which was pretty close to what Kelly wanted in order for the project I was working on. It's no big deal though. I talked to one of the people in the Office and they said they were still in need of people to work on Science Grade 7 Kentucky on the Evening Shift. I'm not keen on evening shift but at this point in time, I really don't mind taking that @ all. Besides, I can go with some friends that are working during Evening Shift as well.
