   She's Not There
January 1, 2005 was an interesting start to the New Year, indeed.
We picked up my friend Duane and his 7-year-old son DJ (whom he had for the holidays)
from Acadia in Bloomington to take them to meet Miam (his new girlfriend) at the Airport.
We waited at the airport for 2 hours straight and she never showed.
We then asked one of the employees at the ATA terminal desk if she had booked a flight
the night before or if her flight had never come in. They looked up her name and she had no registry
on ATA that day, or any of the days before.
Duane couldn't believe it. Father and I had a feeling she wasn't going
to show, and we also had our doubts when we had heard she was a breast surgeon and "didn't have enough
money to make it here". We now don't know if the photograph I was shown (drop dead gorgeous blonde)
was real or not, whether the information was true or anything.
All we know is this was a very elaborate, clever ruse. We are all very
sorry for Duane and we fear he might contact "Miam" again because he thinks she is pretty.
(If that's really her.) All the while, I couldn't think how appropriate the song over the PA was when we were waiting for Miam. "She's Not There" played over
the PA. Couldn't have been more true. My intuition and father's intuiton was correct.
We knew the pick up with Duane and DJ was all too easy. We can only hope that nothing worse
will happen to him because he really doesn't need that right now.

So, we didn't have our corn beef, cabbage and black-eyed peas yesterday.
But we will have them today. I am also thinking of what I will be doing in the future.
Of course, I will still be looking for work and seeing what I can do to get myself involved
in either Medical Billing/Coding, Occupational Therapy, or Info Tech.
Not really certain which road to take, but something will work out.
Going to go to Library tomorrow. Have to do research on OT, private eyes, and find the book
Lake Woebegon Days by Garrison Keillor (or however he spells it, LOL !).

I am still having writers block with that saga for some odd reason.
Ah well, I believe something will come of it yet, perhaps sometime this month.
2) Untitled DS9 script
...I have been tossing ideas here and there about with this one.
It has remained with nothing but a Cast List for longer than I care to
mention. However, I believe that with some help it will become a terrific epic.
Maybe even one of the better things I have written.

:airborne: I am looking forward to what's to come in this New Year.
I don't know what exactly I might be doing or where exactly I might be going.
But I have faith and friends that have been nothing short of incredible.
I thank God for them and I love them all so much with all my heart. :D
May this year be filled with blessings for everyone here and may good fortune
be showered upon you every day !
