Man I've been busy

This is my first day of doing nothing... really. I'm talking about the only free day I've had in 3 weekd now. I'm just so tired, and I've been sleeping for most of it.

So anyways, I'm sure you've gathered that I'm just a bit tired. Had fun in Glasgow anyways, though broke my "never drinking again vow" which I then made again the day after. Did a bit of shopping while was was there, there are so many alternative kinda shops, they used to have loads in York but now there are only the full on expensive goth shops and loads of the unoriginal highstreet shops you get in every city.


In the arkimonology news Spent afew more days in a field doing geophys servays, was nice weather for it. Then a whole day in a creepy graveyard. Many that thig was old! There were slabs in there that dated to 1660. Interesting for the first few minutes but then it got boring. ooo funny story, (well not for me really):

Was surveying a grave stone which was under a tree when my working buddy Ed banged his head on the branch (he always does stuff like that so it wasn't out of the ordinary) he then got angry and hit the branch with a bruch. I felt as if a lod of leaves had fallen on me so I looked down to find my entire clip board covered in bugs. >_< yep... I was covered in bugs and had to get Ed to get them all out of my hair... I hate insects! Funny when I look back lol

That really was the most interesting thing that happened. But here's a pic of it just to show haw creepy it is:



hmmmm anything else of interest... went on afew trips round the country side, they were okay I guess but the best thing that happened this week was that I went to a pirate party and broke my second vow to never drink again. Me and people from my block got all dressed up as pirates and set sail!!!!



I remember comandeering a vending machine at some point... and I'm the one in the red if you must know.

hmmm well now I'm gonna visit sites. Dunno when I'll next be on as I'm diggin all next week and if I remember anything from my vindolanda expeditions it is that my back will be in constand pain and the dirt will not come off.

I'm finally out of the hole and into the sun! ow it burns!

Okay so yeah I was doing landscape servaying today, much more interesting and it was a nice day so apart from the annoying Sam and the sheep who thought they could eat our tape it was interesting and fun. I've got a bit burnt but it'll turn brown tomorrow.

In other news the guys are playing football outside, as I was returning they'd managed to kick the ball behind the corner of the building where there are two guees protecting their next, they won't le you get anywhere near and keep attacking the ball. So when that was all sorted (I don't know if they'd got another ball as I went inside to see my bf) but one of the managed to smash a window on the 3rd floor of our block. Oops! lol wonder what's gonna happen now! :p

Not much on anime news sadly I've been reading the kingdom hearts mangas as I couldn't get the games, but hopefully will be able to play them in the summer. And I shall have probably read at least the first samurai shamploo over the weekend as I have long train journeys. Which brings me onto my final subject...

I'm off to visit my friend in Glasgow this weekend, am going straight after lectures tomorrow so you won't be hearing from me at least untill Sunday night but probably later as I think I'm gonna end up going to an Archaeology Soc meeting (as am now secratary) which will probably be in a pub as we have no room booked, which probably means I won't be able to type when I return, and then Monday I'll be back in the field (probably hung over), this time doing geophys stuff! Must remember to bring clothes with no metal in them for that....

okay so there's my rant, will go round sites now ^_^

buildings servay = counting stones and marking features in the floor ... how fun!!! ¬_¬

Okay, at first i was like, "oooh buildings coooool. and even though it's raining we'll be inside right?"
Well, the second part was true were weren't exactly in the open... we were below a hotel in a market town in the newly discovered (ie, damp, dusty, and dark and yucky)undercroft!!! How fun... yesterday was terrible, there were low ceilings covered in cobwebs and as we were at the end corner we got little of the light as people kept standing infront of it. And basically, all we did was plot points of a stone in the wall (which was hard because there wasw plaser over most of it) and map it all out onto a scale grid. ALL BLEEPING DAY!!! oh did I mention the 33ft well? Was hoping certain a certain member of our group would fall down it, but alas he was at the other end...

Today wasn't as bad as we mapped out the floor of another, better lit room in the undercroft. If it wasn't for the people i was working with (who are the coolest and most entertaining people ever) I think i would have cracked.

Heading off to the campus bar tonight with my group so we can chill out for a bit, and we really can't be bothered walking into town, it's cold and rainy. Tomorrow won't be too bad as we only have a 2 hour lecture and that's it, so i have time to do some shopping and catch up on reading which i'm behind in. I also have to read my mom's personal statement for her degree application, i said I'd do that tonight too >_< waaaa! to tired!

New theme *dies*

Wow that took me till after midnight last night, and I'm still not totally happy with it but I'm doing it all on my laptop and I'm home for the weekend so I'll have to wait to finish it *sigh* nevermind... Ankoku's new layout gave me the ideas, i still wanna edit it a bit and put buttons for he backroom and stuff above the update. was way too tired last night. but well, there you have it! I was happy, i never thought I could do it. (sent most of yesterday reading about html O_O) blew my mind! But anyways, enough of that.

Yeah I'm home for my grandad's 90th, no really looking forward to shouting everyword i say but, i still love him. Doing graveyard servays on monday and tuesday all day next week. How fun! ¬_¬ And I went to see march of the penguins yesterday at the student cinema. V cute and fluffy and that was only morgan freeman, I'm not eeven gonna start on the penguins. lol can't think of much else to say so I guess I'll go and visit afew ppl before they arrive.

wow another Blink post within a week!

just kinda bored, am gonna start on theme, have just been a little side tracked due to lotsa stuff and I'm afraid of html. it's so complex and seems to screw me over whenever i get a little too adventureous *sigh* but shall try some new things anyways. I also need to read some stuff for tomorrows lectures on fieldwork. I think they're done by the legend Martain Carver. He really is a legend, he's always on TV talking about something.

well anyways, i think it's him doing the lecture because a lot of his articles are on the reading list (a good hint) I've printed out one from antiquity anyways.

my bf now has Advent Children on DVD, was gonna buy it myself, but he lives downstairs. I'll get it later. NO point in having two copies. I ordered steam boy instead along with some samurai champloo and kindom heats mangas. hmm I wonder if they have arrived yet... may check on that later.

Okay, one other thing I'm going to mention because I think it's really funny. I applied to do fieldwalking in greece for a month but was a little late with my application so didn't think i'd get in (they only wanted 2-3 ppl). Got a text yesterday from a third year I know from the Archaeology Society (sociels/drinking rep) he said that Ben (the organizer) had asked his opinion on who should go, and Leigh (the scary one I mentioned who wanted to run for president of the soc afew posts back) had also applyed and he hates her. So I think it's me gonna be picked over her now. How ironic! This is why you don't go around pissing 3rd years off lol Greece for a month! here I come!

Yep, I did it again... sorry!

But I'm back at uni now so this should be a bit more regular. After my last post my bf came from Birmingham for afew days (and he bought me the nicest easter egg ever and then I was digging for two weeks. Then I was too lazy and tired (and full of chocolate) to get anywhere near the PC. And now I'm here... so that's my story ;)

The Digging!

Was very hard and I ached all over and it was a good half an hour walk, first up a hill not really possible at the godforsaken hour we were walking up it and then along a roman road, damn thoe romans for building straight roads! >_< it just went on and on and on... but we did pass the tree!!! the tree from Robin Hood! (The one he took a wizz on)



Luckly there were afew people with cars who often offered me a lift so i didn't have to do that much walking ^_^ Didn't find much, but i did find a roman coin! (yey!) and lots of pot and bone, and a bead, which i'm proud of, you know how small those things are!

oh man i got really drunk one night i haven't drank since then it was that bad! I was sick all the next day and missed out on digging. However I did get a certificate for the best dancer of the youth hostel which they laminated so i wouldn't throw up on it... yep i had a dance off infront of the whole pub >_< and lost to a 40 year old! So there ya have it... don't let people buy you pint glasses of gin and tonics! and if they do, don't down them in one!

I think I'm gonna end with that, as I'm tired. I've had hardly any sleep the last few nights. So here's some more advice: Don't go to see Silent Hill if you can't sleep after waching the trailer. Even if it is with your mum! countless sleepless nights will follow! (movie was good though)

The Blink is back!

Man I've had such a busy term! but it's all ovr now, yey! and I now have 5 weeks off! although at some point I'm heading down to Birmingham to visit my already missed boyfriend and I have 10 days helping to excave at Vindolanda which I hope will be fun!

Anime News

Samurai 7 is awsome! I was gonna do a quiz on it but someone already has >_< I don't want to insult them by doing another one, and even if I did, knowone needs two of the same quiz so it won't be submitted. I guess I should work on a GITS one but I don't wanna do a half ass job, i wanna include all 9 members of section 9 but that's a lot of people. What do you guys think? should i just pick the most popular section 9 members or go all out?

Tokyo Pop is gonna release Trinity Blood! I can't wait as the anime (as everything other than full metal panic and samurai 7 was ruined by Gonzo. I actually think they destroyed it more than Hellsing! Don't you just hate it when a good idea is taken and then ripped apart? The anime is worth watching but the ending is disapointing.

Pumi Pumi Poemi is strange... I think I may order it...

I must get a hold of yakitate japan, I wonder if it has been released in the UK yet... probably not.

In other news

The field walking was cancelled because of the snow (yes snow in the month that spring begins) and was put onto the next week which really messed around with my new job. Oh yes I have a job! its at a really posh (and the best, it gets national reviews) returant in York. Russel Crow was in there last month! so yeah anyways where was I.. oh yeah so we did the fieldwalking the next weekend. The first day it rained... then it snowed... it was v cold. But i did fine some pottery that was over 2,000 years old! at the time i didn't really care, I was to cold.

And that's all i can really be bothered to talk about... so go and watch Samurau 7 and indulge in all it's goodness!

Wow I've been busy

Errr yeah, sorry about that guys, really didn't mean to be away that long. I shall hopefully have time to visit you all tonight. Archaeology News

I shall be excavating at Vindolanda during my easter break!!! Yeyness!!! For most people who have no idea what it is, it's a Roman site off Hadrian's Wall with a lot of leather shoes and shiney stuff. Can't wait! And once I get the training I can start going on contract digs and getting paid!

The Arch. Society are getting a little worried at the mo. as most are gonna be leaving next term leaving it to first years as the seconds don't seem that bothered. If some of you can remember I was elected first year Rep. before Christmas, I had little competition as the opposition had rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way. However, she's got quite afew followers now and is planning on running for president, which is bad... she scares me! but we can't stop her... democracy doesn't work goddamnit! Shenever shows up to anything, if she gets in we'll be in ruin! I'm sure we'll be fine... man, it's like a soap :p

Blink's Rant

What is worng with the geese in York! They have clan wars about 2am most nights. Just imagine the sound of a hundred geese honking away when you know you have a lecture in the morning!

Another thing: Someone has broke the lock for the shower O_O Slightly concerned when I took a shower today. It does seem slightly suspicious that on a floor with mainly girls, the lock would be tampered with... whoever it was either very drunk and decided to take a shower or a right pervert!!! >_<

Anime news

Anime soc. is good this time we've been watching more FMA and Hyper Police (slightly insane abd full of catgirl goodness) and Trinity Blood. Man I love this series! It's like merging Hellsing with Trigun, all must watch! And this sunday we're gonna watch the preview of the first ep. of the Hellsing OVA >_< soooo exiting!

Been given loads of manga by one of the guys downstairs, so far onlly been reading Helling. Man the Manga is so much better, but I'm all out now, I need Vol. 6 and 7 stat!!

Also been given loads of anime but a guy along the hall. So far I've mainly been watching wolf's rain. Man that series also rocks! It's like kinda dark but ... can't think! all much also watch!!!

I got really sick of my old theme, sometimes ya just need a change ya know? Been wanting to do a Bebop one for a while so I just went for it, didn't take me long, might edit the BG a bit later when I can be bothered lol.

Had my first 'Introduction to Archaeological Science' sounds posh and complex right? This lecture was on 'soils and sediments' also sounds posh... what it really means is the study of mud... o_O and since I'd had a 2 hour theory intro lecture before it I was nearly a gonna anyways. *sigh* I have loads of reading to do...

Not much else going on really... Went to see the Cat returns at the Anime Soc's first get together. It's so fantastically brilliant! And we all concluded that that cat is one sexy dude, even the guys admitted it lol one claiming him to be the new male idol. I know a bit over the top lol

I also went to see Memoirs of a Giesha and a 70mm of Die Hard, which I hadn't seen before. Both were good and Die Hard is cool, I love it when everything gets blown up in a movie :p
