Darkness Devours All
Your heart is a place of hallow hatred
As you drink in their acid
You shut your eyes
Longing for the darkness
You are surprised

You see him
Though he sees you not
Where the black-eyed creature creeps
A guardian once
But now he’s lost
The key to freedom keeps.

Like a tree he sways
Blinded by his branches
Lost in the darkness
The thing you now long
It holds him in it’s dark embrace
Never letting go

You call out, reach out, cry out
No Answer
You plunge in
Unaware and thoughtless
Sinking, seeking what cannot be found
You realize you love him
As darkness devours all.

As the last restraint is loosed
You think once more of him
You are caught of guard
The bleakness fades to a red
And the darkness divides
You finally see him again.
