Message boards
Been wondering about trolls on message boards. You know, those people who deliberately insult others with no reason.
I wonder why they do it? I mean, is there some sort of perverse satisfaction in knowing that some ppl out there are emotionally hurt?
I for one, am very sensitive and I take criticism to heart, even when I know its unjustified.
Just yesterday, I started an innocent topic on a Hellsing message board.
I asked "If you were Alucard's master, what would you have him do?"
I thought it was a pretty innocent topic and immediately, people post answers like
"I'd order him to kill you for starting such a stupid discussion"
I mean, if they think its stupid, they don't have to answer it!
I've always been taught in college that no question is a stupid question and I believe in expressing your opinions whether they're considered dumb or stupid as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.
Also, once, I posted one of my CG's on a message board and someone sez that I'm cheating for using CG.
I replied that I disagree since CG artists need to know how to draw and to know the dynamics of value and color if they're to create good works.
I know that some ppl are purists who reject CG totally, but to accuse me of cheating is just too much, especially since I spend hours and hours on it.
Ok, some ppl probably think I'm harping on this too much and that this is a stupid post anyway, but it just depresses me to think that others out there simply don't consider the responsibilities of their actions.
Really, it doesn't cost anybody anything to be emotionally supportive to others.
