My Geetar ^_~
Well, last night I rediscovered my guitar. It's an acoustic, shiney, hardly played. So last night I grabbed my pick (which I'd also never used before) and started to play.
It's amazing like that. Something you did for numerous years, then dropped for whatever reason (for me it was the lack of a music teacher to teach me) and then you take it up again, remembering how you fingers go on the fretboard, and how to get that clear note you spent six months trying to catch all those years ago. I taught myself how to read tablature last night too, surprisingly easy. I still have to get the hang of barre chords, pick ups, hammer ons, and chords in general (they don't sound the same on an acoustic ~_~).
I never thought I'd be playing any LotR music on my guitar, but Billy Boyd's solo in RotK is great. Except I'm running down to the 12th fret on the D-string. I dunno if that's easy on an electric, but on an acoustic that's actually on the body of the instrument. I don't know how successful my "rewriting" of the tabs I got are, but it's easier for me to move on 3 different strings than stick to the same one. Sounds pretty funky ^_~
Yup. Totaly random. Hope at least some of you know what I'm talking about ^_^;;
PS: If anyone has some good sites for acoustic/electric/bass guitar, be sure to share!
