My Fanfic...enjoy...
I gave the second part of the title the name of my favorite song by Trapt. Echo. And parts of the story may not be accuarte, like cities and stuff...i'll change those if i notice them. Meanwhile enjoy the story.
Final Fantasy Zero: Echo of Time
The worlds of Final Fantasy are separated from each other, as was the will of their Creator. Each one is a separate world, and exists on a different plane. The Kingdom of Alexandria and Ivalice each have their citizens that go on living despite what happens in the other worlds. Cloud Strife has never heard of Tidus, and Ultemecia, in all here dimension traveling, has never heard of Kuja or the Holy Stones of the Zodiac…but there is no denying that in some way, these worlds are linked together. So what is the links were, say, to become entwined. What is the fabric of reality twisting around each of these worlds was to fold just an instant throwing all of them into turmoil? How would their heroes, there villains…their people react? This is a story about this possibility… this is the untold story that may ,very well, be finally be the Final Fantasy…
The story starts were the first interference between the Final Fantasy worlds begins…when Cloud was introduced to the world of Final Fantasy Tactics, Ivalice, during the Lion Wars…this is the part of the story you didn’t see…
Goug Machine City, Ivalice
Ramza jumped back, as the weird machine, in reaction to the Holy Stone, sparked to life, and with a flash of light, a man was suddenly standing before him. The stranger had spiky blond hair, and wore some sort of military uniform. This was common during these war-torn times, but he bore no crest of allegiance, and the uniform was unlike any he had seen before. As the three onlookers, Ramza, Mustadio and Besradio stared in shock, Besradio was the first to speak. "It worked! The Holy Stone must have been the key! It must be some sort of teleportation device." Excited by the success of the machine he leaned closer to inspect him. The stranger backed up and stared at them. He drew his Buster Sword when he saw that Ramza was armed, and returned their stares warily. Ramza reacted by placing his hand on the hilt of is own weapon, and seeing this, Mustadio stepped between them. "We mean you no harm," he said, acting as a mediator between the two ", we were only surprised at your appearance...we didn't know what this machine could do." Cloud lowered his weapon, and slightly dazed, asked where he was.

Cloud had been locked in his last battle with Sephiroth. He had only just killed him, when he was carried away in what he thought was Lifestream to a blinding light. When he entered it, he appeared here, in this room with three strange faces staring at him. He immediately drew his weapon when he re-orientated himself, the adrenaline in his veins stirring feelings of unrest. One of them had a long sword, and the one that stood between them had a very aged looking gun. The third had no visible weapon. He decided he could take them on if he wanted, so he put his weapon away for the time being. "I am Cloud, of Nibelheim," he said. He then paused, and looked around. "Where am I?" he asked, in a very demanding voice. The older looking, unarmed man answered. "You are in the Empire of Ivalice." He told him, staring at him in great interest. Ramza, not as quick with the questions, simply stared, his hand never leaving the hilt of his sword. Clouds begin to deduce the situation in his head...Ivalice? He had never heard of such a place, and he had been all around the world surrounding Midgar. "I've never heard of such a place...I'm sure it doesn't exist...where in the world is this place?" He asked, scratching his head trying to remember it. "Well, we're in the Machine City, Goug right now... this is my hometown," the man with the ponytail and the gun said. Cloud was sure this was no place on the planet he lived on...he had traveled the world. Of all the people in this world, he would know...the only person who would know this planet better was... "An Ancient!" He suddenly exclaimed to himself ... Aeris ... suddenly, he had the strongest urge to follow where he knew he would find Aeris...as if some supernatural power was guiding him to her. He ran out of the room, Ramza drawing his sword the second Cloud made a sudden movement...but Cloud proved swift, and was gone from the room, and out the city before they could catch him...he ran to the northeast...he knew he would find what he sought there...

Ramza had drawn his sword when the stranger had suddenly rushed out the room. He had been wary the entire time and the moment the guy moved seemed to have snapped all the tension. I got to chill out...he told himself; the war is getting to me. I had no reason to draw a weapon on him...but every since Teta...and Delita...I've just been high-strung in the trust department... He sheathed his weapon. "What now?" Mustadio asked. "We didn't even ask his name!"
Mustadio began to pace around the room. "We don't have any idea where's he going!"... "Or where he's from" came Ramza's reply "It seems as if he's completely unaware of this world's situation" He leaned against a wall, head bowed in thought. " It seems almost as if he is from another world...but is that possible?" Besradio answered "Nothing is beyond the power of the Zodiac Stones...not even this...at any rate, you'll need to find him to figure that out." Besradio walked over to the machine and began tinkering with it again. Shifting from one foot to the other in an effort to think of where to go from that point, Mustadio offered guidance "Well, some people from town saw him heading off northeast, so he's headed to the Zigolis swamp. From there he can go to Warjilis, Riovanes, Golgrond and Zarghidas...and a few other places not worth visiting...we can cut him off and catch up if we work fast" Ramza's disdainful look redirected his eyes downward, suddenly interested in his feet. "A wild goose chase in the middle of a war...great...I'll mobilize the Hokuten Knights" He sighed, and walked out, wondering what this stranger knew.

Halfway through the swamp, east of Goug, Cloud was all ready regretting his choice to leave on his own. I should have asked those guys for help...explained my problem...it would have been easier than trotting through this hellhole alone. I'd give anything to have Cid, vulgar language and all here. Or Barret and his broken yet encouraging words...or to see Tifa's smiling face... He couldn't help but feel sorry for himself. He was lost somewhere he had never heard of, and knew no one, save the three people he saw when he first came. And for a girl he knew was dead. But the strange feeling continued to beckon to him, so he continued to trudge through the swamp.
