Gotcha! Yep, I put a mistletoe up. ^_^

I finally got my tree put up and decorated. Better late than never, right? And I'll probably be a few weeks late taking it down.

Then we got some shopping done. I really don't care much for x-mas shopping. Some people are nearly impossible to buy for. o_O

I've been working on getting some of my anime back. In fact, I've been downloading some that I haven't seen yet. Currently, I'm getting Scryed back, Get Backers (which I had a few before, but just never got around to finishing), and Bleach (haven't seen yet).

I'm thinking about resubmitting my wallpapers back on here. I had four, or was it five?... Anyway, I will be doing that pretty soon. It's a long story about why I took them off. I had taken my fan art off too, but I got those back on. However, my fan art is a lot thinner now than it was then. I had close to 50 in my fan art. Now I only have 30 and that's with some new ones added since then. The reason I have so many fewer than before is because I had some that to me just weren't good enough.
I'll let you know when I get the wallpapers back up.

Oh, one more thing. Kids do say the darndest things. The other night at dinner my son meant to say Hanukkah, but it came out as Harmonica. ^_^ I got a kick out of that.

Take care everyone.

I almost forgot, the contest that BlAiZeD is having had some problems earlier, but it seems to be working now. I apologize to those who took the time to vote for me, but couldn't. And I also thank you for taking the time. I really need the votes. I think it would probably take a miracle for me to win this thing, though. o_O
If you have not yet voted for me, if you would please, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Sorry I wasn't able to get to sites on Saturday. I will be doing that just as soon as I post this.

The contest that BlAiZeD is having for best site is down to nine finalists and I am one of them. So, please vote for me. And if you need some encouragement *cough*Kitsune*cough*, I'm not sure what I can offer except my gratitude.

Well, something interesting happened. The 7-11 burned down early Saturday morning. What makes this interesting is that it's the same 7-11 that some of you may remember from back in 2004 took $100 from my 8 year old son and helped him purchase Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. See my son stole the $100 from my purse. And he was severely punished. In no way were we taking any of the blame from him. But we also questioned how the clerk could take a $100 bill from an 8 year old kid and help him figure out how many cards he could buy with it. I still think that someone with more common sense would perhaps recommend the kid have his parents or another family member help him purchase them, if possible. Of course there are no laws, but I think there should be standards in place to make sure a kid is not blowing someone else's money. A child of a certain age should not be allowed to spend a certain amount of money without being accompanied by an adult. But this is just my opinion.

Anyway, after that we never set foot in the 7-11. And so I found it ironic that it burned down. Unfortunately, when we drove by to take a look, it took out 4 other businesses along with it that all occupied a little strip mall type building. And of course I feel bad for the other employees of 7-11 that I hold no fault to. What a terrible time for that sort of thing to happen, just right before Christmas.

Well, I'm not in much of a rambling mood tonight. So, I think I'll bring this to a close. I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. Take care.

Sorry I got to sites a little late. I hate it when that happens because some people update right after it rolls around (at 12:00 Eastern time). I'm in Pacific time, so I try to get on at around 8:00 p.m. my time to give me a good hour to visit sites. Yeah, I take a long time visiting sites because I tend to sit and ponder what to say. And then sometimes I ramble. And then, I proofread my comments. Anyway, I got to everyone in time... I think.

Thank you to everyone who looked at my new drawing. I'm always a bit hesitant to submit original stuff because most of my original stuff doesn't do well. But I really liked how this one turned out. I'd love to come up with some kind of story to go along with him. But as of yet I have nothing. I'm not sure if I have the time to start writing a story.

Today I learned to really appreciate CDs. I have this old computer that I bought back in 2000 (now that sounds really weird saying it like that). And it doesn't have CD burn capability, only floppy. So, I spent the whole day moving stuff from my old computer to floppy. Then from floppy to CD on another computer. The floppies only hold 1.44 MB. CDs hold 700 MB. I put so much on one CD and I've maybe used half of it.

This is in response to Mamma Vash's comment. It is a bit frustrating at times with only one vehicle. And what's really bad is that we can't all go somewhere together. There's six of us, our little car only seats five. (And not very comfortably.)

After reading your comment, I got this mental picture of you sorting papers on a conveyor belt, and getting behind. Then resorting to stuffing papers in your mouth. ^_^ Yes, that is one of my favorite episodes of I Love Lucy. I only hope that things can slow down a little for you.

Don't worry about not being able to get to Otaku Chat. I don't want anyone to feel obligated to join, or rushed in any way. There hasn't been much activity there yet. We have 5 members so far. And I've actually only chatted with Inuyasha311 once. Hopefully someday it will be a grand community with lots of members chatting all the time.

Oh, and remind me to tell you of a few sources for learning HTML. I still believe the best place to start is Founderweb's Tutorial. That is where I got my first taste of HTML. Then I bought a book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Creating a Web Page and Blog, Sixth Edition. This is a wonderful book for beginners. The author has a great sense of humor, which makes reading more fun. Also, what's nice about having a book is that I can read it anywhere. And use it as a reference whenever I need it.
And best of luck.

Well, I think it's time to for me to fly. (Whoa...REO Speedwagon flashback there.) ^_^
Take care.

Sorry I didn't get to sites yesterday. I will definitely do that today.

My 7 year old son had a Christmas concert last night. It was really nice.
He's the only one having one this year. And it will be the same next year. Until my 4 year old is in first grade. And then it will be just her. Unless if my older ones decide to get into choir, but I doubt that.

Well, I finally finished one of the drawings of my character I created. And I spent the longest time trying to think of a good name for him. In the end it was a toss up between Race, Trey, or Zave. Notice they all have four letters? Anyway, I decided on Race. So, I got him colored and submitted him to my fan art. Why am I referring to him as if he's a person, instead of a piece of art? I don't know. o_O I hope you can take a look at it, and I hope you like it. Thanks!

Well, I'm done for now. Take care.

Well, I'm not so depressed today. I know very well the magnitude of the stuff that I lost. However, I also know that one of these days something is going to hit me, something really important that I lost. I didn't have any important documents like tax stuff or anything like that. But I'm sure I will realize something that I had made that will really tear me apart. I was afraid I had lost my favorite Vash wallpaper that I had made, but luckily I have it on one of my other computers. Plus I have it in my Photobucket. (I had it submitted on here, once. But that's a long story.)

I guess one good thing came from this. I finally got my butt in gear and started putting all of my files on disk. For those who don't know, I have over 5 years of files scattered over 4 different computers. In fact, I have some pretty cool graphics that I made a few years back, that I could really use now. So, I enjoyed rediscovering my old stuff.

The really sad thing is that I came close to losing all of my stuff once before. And after that scare, I'm really surprised I didn't take better precautions to make sure I didn't lose everything. But I, being the procrastinator that I am, put it off.

Whatever you do, people, don't put it off! Backup everything, I urge you!

Well now, isn't this special? We have been below freezing here for over two weeks. o_O
The parking lots are like dirty sheets of ice. If you can get a good run, you just slide right on into the store. ^_^

Oh, Mamma Vash asked what music I was listening to. That would be metal. I almost always listen to metal, I'm a metalhead. And actually, it helps me feel angry for a while. I know, that sounds bad. But apparently, listening to metal music actually makes people feel angry. And I find it's good to get that anger out at times. Though it is in no way a violent manner. Just listening to the music and rocking out.
Then at night I put on one of my Asian relaxation CDs. Quite the opposites, huh? ^_^

Well, that's all folks! Take care.

How much can a person endure before they just fly off the handle?

My HP Pavilion was not loading Windows Monday night when my hubby was on it. I tried several things, but it just wouldn't. So, we did the System Recovery. It said, programs would have to be re-installed, but no data files would be lost... HA! I got the stupid thing setup again. Basically it was like it was when we bought it, except all of the added programs we have put on it need to be re-installed. So, I got Media Player re-installed and had it search for media files. After it did the search none of my songs were there! I started looking around and apparently it wiped out everything in the My Documents folder. Guess where I had all of my music, anime, graphics, all of my stuff? Yep, I keep it in My Documents, in various folders. They are gone. I can replace music and anime, and even some images. But I had a lot of graphics and web pages I had created on my own. Gone.

So, needless to say, I'm really depressed right now.

I do have some CD's that had a few things on them. But not much. And, I have my favorite tunes on a CD, so I've been listening to it all day while re-installing programs.

I guess I learned a lesson from this. From now on, everything goes on CD now.

My Christmas list:

~ CD-RWs

Well, that's all for now. Take care.

Well, Monday was somewhat of a busy day. Since I don't have my van anymore, I had to take hubby to work in our little Mitsubishi. It does seat five, which is how many we have to stuff in there at 7:30 a.m.

Then I got the boys off to school. And later on, I had an appointment. (That's why I took hubby to work.)

Amber (my 4 year old), and I ate lunch. I drew a little bit. Then we left to pick up my boys from school. I was just about to park when I noticed on the clock in the car I was an hour early. o_O
So, I went back home for an hour. Then I left at the right time to pick them up.

Got home, and grabbed a snack. Left to pick hubby up from work. Went to pay a bill, and got dinner. We bought a pizza from the store. They are take-n-bake pizzas, not the frozen kind. The brand is Milena's.
Well, we got home and I was waiting for the oven to preheat and I grabbed a small chunk of the cheese from the pizza and ate it. It was awful! The cheese was bad! You know that flavor you get when you puke up milk after it's been in your stomach for a while? Well, that's what this cheese tasted like. We got a new pizza from the store, and ate it. The second one was fine. But ever since I ate that cheese, my stomach has been upset.

And that was my busy Monday. Thankfully, I don't have to take anyone anywhere on Tuesday. ^_^

Oh, I must mention that my friend BlAiZeD is having a contest on her site for best site layout. I am on there. So, if you have the time, and feel I deserve a vote (hint, hint), go vote for me. ^_^
Thanks!

Well, that's about it for now. Have a great day. Take care.

My weekend went pretty good. Nothing tragic happened, so that's good.

Though, Saturday night we discovered someone put a squishy, soggy pile of food and dog crap on our front step. No, this was not the prank where someone puts a burning bag of dog crap, rings the doorbell and runs. Luckily, we use our garage door the most. So, I went outside and saw it on my front step. We think it's some of our kids' friends. I shouldn't say friends, but some neighbor kids. There's a brother and sister down the street. Their mom is a real, winner (sarcasm here). My 10 year old son is friends with the 10 year old boy, and his sister is around 12 years old. My 14 year old daughter can't stand her and she obviously doesn't like my daughter.

My hubby cleaned up the mess. And we mentioned it to my daughter. My two boys were gone staying at another friend, so they didn't know about it.

So, on Sunday the neihbor boy rings the doorbell and when my hubby answered it, the first thing he said to him was, "I didn't do that." My hubby asked him if he knows who did do it. And continuing to look down, the boy said, "no". Well, the suspicious thing is that there wasn't anything there. And we are the only ones who knew about it, except the person who had done it. So, how did he know? I think he and his sister were behind it. Of course when my boys got home, we told them about it, and my 10 year old says that it may be one of the roomates of the mother of the two kids. Because this guy doesn't like any of his neighbors... uggghhh!

So, other than that, it was a pretty good weekend. I have been drawing this character I created. I don't have a story or anything like that to go along with him. In fact, he doesn't even have a name. I'm thinking about maybe giving him an alter power. (For those who aren't familiar with it, they have alter powers on s-CRY-ed.) I'm not sure when I will be submitting him to my fan art, though. I penciled him, and then lined him with ink. Now I think I will color him on the computer. I'll let ya know when I'm done with him.

Well, that's it for now. I hope everyone had a good weekend. And have a good Monday. (Good Monday, sure!) ^_^ Take care.

Oh, yeah... on Saturday I added background music to my site. It's 'I Am Santa Claus' by Bob Rivers. He does some excellent parody songs. I hope you like it. If not, sorry, just hit the stop button on your browser. ^_^

Thank you for all of the kind words from everyone, it really means a lot to me.

I'm going to briefly explain about the minivan. We put $1500 down on it last July, and took on payments of $140 a month. It's a 1995 Dodge Caravan. Used cars like that don't have warranties. You buy them as they are. If things go wrong with them, it is your problem, you fix it at your expense.

So, the first time it broke down my hubby tried to fix it. He did, but it wasn't entirely fixed. We figured it had a short somewhere. It broke down again, and my hubby tried to figure it out, but he just doesn't have the equipment to figure out what's wrong with it. So, our last resort was to call the car lot and tell them what's going on. They offered to come pick it up and have a "technician" look at it. But this would be at our expense.

They fixed it and we got it back, like I had said in my Thursday post.

So, like I said in yesterday's post, it broke down again. They were supposed to have fixed it and we already paid some money on the repairs! So, we called the car lot and they said they'd have their mechanic look at it again, of course, at our expense again.

No way! Do I have sucker written on my forehead? We tried to get them to let us trade for something else they might have on their lot, but they wouldn't do that. So, this is why we are just having them take it back. Unfortunately, we have lost a lot of money on this.

And to top off this wonderful week I've been having. When I woke up Friday morning it was about 60 degrees in my house. Our furnace went out! What else can go wrong? We rent, so we called the property management and they said someone would be over. Luckily we have a couple of space heaters to help warm the house a bit. Plus, we turned on the oven for a short while and left the door open. Someone didn't come over to fix it until about 1 o'clock in the afternoon! o_O

Hey, how many of you have heard of the band The Bravery? I am a member of BMG and I keep forgetting to cancel my selection of the month. Last month it was Fall Out Boy, which I was going to have a contest to give that one away, but my daughter likes them. So, I gave it to her. Well, I was thinking the same thing again when I got The Bravery cd in the mail. But I listened to them on their site and they aren't bad. It's not my normal style of music, but they kind of remind me of The Cure. And I like some of their songs. So, I haven't decided what I'm going to do with this cd yet. I haven't opened it, just in case if I decide to have some kind of contest for it.

I think I'm gonna take Saturday night off from here. So I won't update or visit sites until Sunday night. I hope everyone has a good weekend. Take care.

Big Girls Do Cry!

I'm thinking about using that as a title for my next poem.

Well, today started out pretty good. Then got worse.

I came across a tutorial on coloring using Paint Shop Pro. Now, I have used that program for over 5 years now, but I learned something new. And this tutorial helped out a lot. I took a pic of Allen from Visions of Escaflowne the movie and traced it in Adobe Illustrator to create a line art drawing. Except I removed some of his clothes. ^_^ Ok, I just drew him without his jacket or shirt, barechested... hehe...
Anyway, I colored it in Paint Shop Pro using the technique I learned and it turned out really good. I might be submitting it to my fan art soon.

So, I went to pick up my youngest son from school. And on our way home, the minivan broke down again. I am not gonna go into detail about it. So, to make a long story short. We are just giving it back to the car lot that we bought it from, and still owe money on. So, once again I will be without a vehicle for a while. Until I don't know when. I'm not very happy about this.

Well, I get onto Otaku and am fighting with pages loading and getting comments to work. As I have told some already, I think it is virtual cyber gremlins. o_O

Yep, that's what it is. *eye twitches*

Well, I'm gonna go put this day to an end. Take care.
