Monday, August 15, 2005 9:40 p.m.
Well, not a whole lot happening here. I wasn't able to update over the weekend. Sorry, about that.

I have been spending a lot of time perfecting my HTML, Cascading Style Sheets, and even a little bit of Java Script.

See about a month ago, I picked up some books at Borders, and I've been reading them quite a bit. Mamma Vash had asked me (and for anyone else who hadn't heard), I'm taking Graphic Design this fall. I'm going to be doing a lot of graphic stuff, and I get to take some art classes. I'm really excited about it. But the Graphic Design program actually will work well with my plans to do Web Design.

My page here is like a testing ground for things I can do. Of course, I don't want to overdo it, so I'm refraining from going all out and putting all kinds of spectacular things on here.

I'm also working on a web site for my hubby's company. They had mentioned at one time that they wanted me to build a site for them, but I just didn't feel ready. I'm getting a better feel for it, but I'm still a little apprehensive because as it is, I find myself learning something new almost everyday.

There's a lot to this web page designing stuff!

Anyway, that's about all I can think of for now... oh, yeah... my youngest son, Tyler had his 7th birthday on Saturday. He got a bike and some more Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. I tell ya, this boy can never have too many YGO cards... or anything YGO for that matter. What's funny is that he has been getting into Inuyasha more, and he's been watching Samurai Champloo with me. I think he's gonna be a hardcore otaku as he gets older.

Ok, now I'm done. Farewell, adios, auf vehedersehen, au revoir,...(I'd say it in Italian, but I don't know how to spell it) ^_^

Take care!

Sorry, I'm just adding a quick post tonight. I won't be getting to sites, but I will try to tomorrow.

I didn't get the mole taken off. They had to schedule another appt. for two weeks from today, the 26th. This is going to be interesting, I start classes on the 29th. What a way to begin the semester. o_O

I can't go without including a pic.

Isn't she cute?

Anyway, I am heading out.
Take care!

Thursday, August 11, 2005 9:45 p.m.

I must apologize for last night's post. It's clear that I had some of you worried who shouldn't have been. No apologies are needed from my friends here for not visiting regularly. I completely understand, I've been there as well. You, the ones who find yourselves reading this and commenting, and the ones who apologized for not coming and visiting are the ones who are my friends, and I'd never take you guys off of my list.
So thank you so much for visiting, but never feel as though you need to explain why you don't visit regularly. I know who my friends are here, and you are friends in the truest sense, and always will be.
So, I'd like to add this to you, my friends.

Well, today I found out the reason my page looked so bad in Netscape. In fact, previously I hadn't really looked at the whole thing in Netscape, I just saw the top part and didn't like it. So, it didn't occur to me that it was really messed up in Netscape until Blaized told me.
Well, I checked into it, and I had one little mistake in my html that was causing it. It still looks a little different in Netscape, but much better than it was. Also, I wanted to mention to anyone who used Netscape, if you have Netscape 8 you can choose to view pages in either Firefox or Internet Explorer. I recommend viewing mine in IE. If you prefer to use Firefox, just switch it back over after visiting my page.

A few people asked me about the floating image. It's an Ancient Chinese Secret... ^_^ No, it's actually just using the marquee tag, but with a little extra "ooomph".

I ran across something that is really cool. There are many really cool pics of the universe at hubblesite.org, but I ran across this image and I viewed it very large and it's amazing to see all of the stuff surrounding the galaxy in the image. Just click on the image to see the very large version.

And now one more pic to include in this post. I'm putting a pic of myself here because after tomorrow that face you see is going to change.

You see that brown spot on my lip, by my nose? It's a mole. I've had it since I was about 3 years old, so about 30 years now. I was cursed with moles since it runs in both my mother's and father's families. Well, I'm having it removed tomorrow. I'm really excited about it. So, as soon as it heals up, I'll be sure to put up another pic of me without it.
(Sorry the pic is so poor quality, it's just a webcam pic.)

Well, that's all for now.
Take care!

Wednesday, August 10, 2005 9:30 p.m.

I tried adding a post last night, but for some reason I couldn't access anything on the Otaku site, except the main homepage. Was anyone else having the same problem?

Anyway, I spent the day catching up on visiting sites. I think I got to everyone. Which brings me to a topic I was going to mention in last night's post.
I have come to a decision to cut down on my friends list. I've seen others do it before, and I don't want to be mean. But there are some on my list who I've had there for a long time, but I no longer correspond with.
I have some friends who don't get a chance to update to often, but I consider to be good friends, so those people stay.
But I spent literally hours going to sites, commenting and looking at fan art. I found that I had fallen behind on getting to some fan art of some of my greatest friends here. This should not be. So, instead of spending time going to sites of people who just aren't going to return the favor, I will dedicate that time to the ones who deserve it. Like I said, I'm not trying to be mean. I just don't have enough time for it.

Now, I noticed that since I returned after such a long time, I have had very few people actually come and comment on my site. Now some of my good friends are either the ones who don't update very often, and won't be around for a while. Or, are just unable to at this time. But I did notice that a few people have been updating regularly in the past two days and have been around often, but have not visited. Yes, I knew these people were around because on the little friends list it tells you who's on. It's just a bit upsetting when you're gone for so long, there are so few who actually care about what you've been up to. Especially when you spend so much time going to their sites. Anyway, I'm gonna drop it now.

And the picture of the day is, Tsume. Why? Because he is HOT! XD

Oh, one more thing. I discovered that my page looks terrible in Netscape 6. So if you are viewing it with that browser, I apologize. But I am not going to alter it so it looks good in other browsers. This is my own personal page, and I will do it the way I like it with the browser of my choice, which is either the current MSN Explorer or Internet Explorer.
(Boy, I'm really sounding like a grump.) o_O
Really, I'm not in a grumpy mood. I'm just venting my opinion... something I don't do very often.

Well, that's all for today.
Take care!

NEW FANART!!!

Sanosuke

I submitted a colored version of my Sanosuke drawing. (Note: it is not the picture you see above.) I just used that for visual effect. Nice effect, eh?

Ok, I wanted to visit sites. But I couldn't get to it last night. So, after much rushing around getting some final things done around my house (I had an inspection today), I got on the Gateway computer in my front room. Well, for some reason, I could not comment! The comment box would come up, but the comment area was nowhere to be found. I am now on my HP in my room. I guess I had better check and make sure it works on this one. I will get to it right away after I'm finished with this post.

This is for the awesome band who is playing in concert tonight, that I am not going to. Yeah, I know I said I would definitely be going to this concert. However, things just didn't go the way I had hoped. I have no one to blame but myself, I suppose.

And now, for those of you out there sitting in the heat wishing it would cool down...

Well, that's all for now.

Take care!

Hey, I'm back again! I know, I'm really sorry guys that I've been away for so long. I'm hoping to try to update more often.

Hey, you like the new additions to my site? I've been working on a few new features, I think it looks pretty cool. I have more stuff I'd like to try, but I may wait a while to do it.

And now for a change, I actually have something exciting to tell you about. On Sunday, my family and I went out boating on the lake. It was a blast! For a while, I thought that me and my four year old daughter were going to get launched out of the boat. She was on my lap, and everytime we hit a large wake, it would throw us both up in the air. We were facing back, so that made it a bit more of a challenge.

Well, I'm going to finish this off with a quick weather report. It's been HOT, really HOT here. Ok, so not like Arizona hot, but still pretty darned hot for northern Idaho. And since it is so hot, I'm literally baking as I type this out. So, I'm off to cool down.

Take care!

Quick!... add a post before something else goes wrong!
I have been battling with my internet connection. I can't seem to load pages, or they load slowly. I couldn't sign into MSN messenger. Everything just seemed to be going haywire. And at the same time, I kept having to swat at these little tiny flying bugs that seemed to be attracted to my screen. I have bug guts smeared all over!

Well, I restarted my computer and my internet seems to be doing much better now, and the bugs are gone! I honestly think that some higher power was trying to test my resolve for awhile there. ^_^

Well, today I was searching for anime pics. I saw this character. With my "thing" for guy characters with glasses, well I saw him... I was like, "who is he?" So, I checked it out, he is Ban Mido from Get Backers. I find myself wondering why haven't I seen him before? I've heard a lot about the anime, but I don't recall seeing Ban.
Anyway, I watched the first episode today. I'm working on more episodes. So far, I really like this anime.
I'll include a pic of Ban on here, for those of you who don't know the character.

And now I'd like to show off something my good friend, Kitsune Tsuki made for my 1500 hits. Thank you bunches, Kitsune! It's so cute!

Well, that's all for now. I'll see about posting a couple more Get Backers pics tomorrow.

Take care everyone!

Too hot to come up with a clever subject
It got up into the mid 80s here today. Which really isn't that hot, but it's really hot in my house.

Well, I have my class schedule for the fall. I'm taking...
Math 108
2D/Design Foundations
Drawing I
Survey of Art
Computer Graphics I
By the way, I'm taking the Graphic Design program. I'll finish that after two years and get an associate degree. In the meantime, while I'm learning that, I plan to learn Web Design on my own.

I'm really looking forward to these classes. As much as I'm into art and graphics, this should work out well.

I'm also hoping to add to my art supplies when I get my financial aid. I'd like to try coloring more, but Crayola colored pencils just don't quite cut it.

Well, I'm outta here. I think I'll go get some fresh, cool air outside.

(By the way, time of posting this 10:12 p.m. Thursday Pacific time.)

Take care!

   Thanks!
I don't have much to post, but I wanted to say thanks for 1500 hits. I made a pic for the occasion. I took a screencap from Gungrave and added text to it.

Again, thank you so much!
I won't be able to get to sites until later tomorrow (Thursday).

Take care my friends!

   Good news!
I finally got another drawing done. My daughter, Tawny did a quiz online with anime pictures, and she asked me to draw the pic of the result she got. So, I drew it for her.
Unfortunately, hers is just plain old pencil without any colors. But I scanned it, and using my scanner software, added color. I think it turned out really nice.

Now onto other news. Those of you who haven't heard the latest about the kidnapping case here, the human remains they found were those of Dylan Groene. And I found out on the news last night that Joseph Duncan III is being charged with the three murders of the family members found on May 16. It's such a sad story.

The rate of being called to jury duty is rather high here. I had been selected earlier this year, but I had to decline because I was in school at the time. But I mentioned that I would be available during the summer. I really hope that I do not get selected for this. I mean I feel very strongly about this case, but I feel too strongly about it. I'd be a basket case in that jury box. I just hope that justice is done, and he gets the death penalty for this.
Of course, it's still under investigation, so it will be sometime before it goes to court.

Here's something kind of cool. About three weeks ago, I was at the store and I saw someone who looked a lot like the actor Dennis Franz, from the show NYPD Blue. (If you don't know who I'm talking about, check it out on the internet.)
Anyway, while looking through some of the news going on here in my area, I found out that he and his wife are having a home built on the lake (not literally on the lake, but next to it.)
So, I think it would be safe to assume that it was him that I saw in the store.
Then, I did some checking around and found out that actress Patty Duke (aka Sean Astin's mom), lives here too. See last summer, I had heard some rumors that Sean Astin had a home on Hayden Lake (again, not literally). I still don't know if that's true or not, but it is true that his mother lives here.

And the last bit of news. Apparently with the growing concern over what happened to the Groene children, and their family. People have been checking out to find out about any sex offenders living near them.
Well, one of my neighbors issued flyers to everyone alerting us that we in fact have one right here in our neighborhood.
We don't know the details of his crime. But he had been convicted of child molestation in the second degree in Washingon state back in 1995. He lives next door to the house that is across the street from us. I'm not sure what to think of this. I mean, I want to be cautious, but not knowing the details of his crime. And it was 10 years ago, he may not be a repeat offender.
Anyway, I'd like to urge everyone to check out the sex offender registery and find out if there is one in your area. It's better to be aware of who is living around you. We have 15 registered sex offenders living within a mile and a half of us!

That's all for now.
Take care!
