It's a small world after all...
Heh, the otaku attraction for this week kinda threw me-- it's a video one of my friends was bugging me to watch a while back and I never got around to it. Woulda been funnier if he hadn't already told me all about it... Not as funny if you already know what the punch line is *shrug*

I've been up in Gatlinburg over the weekend, which was fun (sorta). We went to this place called Wonderworks. It's this big musuem that looks like it's entirely upside down. I'll post pics later if I can. There was all kinds of cool stuff in the place, but it was so crowded that you couldn't do much. They had software that showed what you'd look like in 20 years, what you'd look like if you were black or hispanic, etc., a flight simulator, giant bubble wands, illusions-- all kinds of fun stuff that you couldn't do because the people playing with it didn't understand the concept of taking turns -_-+

We went to Books-a-Million (yay!) and bought stuff. I bought a new manga,"Satisfaction Guaranteed" by Ryo Saenagi- manga-ka for "Sequence"- and I like it a lot so far. Pretty good for an impulse buy ^_^ I also got the second volume of Chibi Vampire, which was pretty well hilarious.

That was the highlights of the trips. Now, lowlights...

First, even before the trip, I agreed to take a shift at work for a manager whose aunt was sick. I hadn't realized what I was getting myself into. First, the 8 hour shift she wants me to take is until closing, which I don't know how to do. That being as it is, I'll probably slow us down so we don't get out for much later than we should. I also hadn't realized that my mom is working that day, which means I'll have to drive myself, by myself across town, which I have never done before. And the whopper that I didn't realize until Mindy called me was that they planned on me cashiering. If I had known any of that, I don't think I'd have picked up the phone at all.

Let me explain something real quick. I've had maybe two hours register training, tops, and I've had no training with anything beyond simple transactions- I can't do credit cards, credit card payments, returns, or anything else. I can barely remove security tags and clothes hangers, and they want me on a cash register for eight hours. The other thing that's got me worked up is that I'm terrified of being a cashier. I'm too slow and I don't know anything about it, plus if a customer gets mad at me (which is very likely to happen with as many mistakes as I'm likely to make), I promise you I'll break down in tears. Mindy, you can tell me that I should "learn-the-register-it's-good-for-you" if you want, but I really think you don't know how f|_|(king freaked I get over it. It's almost a phobia.

So after I got off the phone with Mindy, I had a meltdown and cried and have been worried sick ever since, which ruined my mood for pretty much the remainder of the trip.

We went to the China Bazaar this morning for weapons purposes. I wanted some throwing stars to hang from my ceiling or something, only to have my parents give me that look. They said, but those are sharp. I'm like, 'Yeah, it's okay, I don't plan on throwing them at myself.' I wasn't going to hang them at eye level or anything stupid, you know? Then I wanted a hari-kiri blade, which they frowned on, too, or a pretty ornamental dagger with a sheath, which they also didn't like. They trust me to pilot a two-ton can of steel at fifty miles per hour without killing myself or anyone else, but they don't trust me with a sharpened dagger or shuriken that I'd have for display purposes only. WTFsk?

Then this morning we tried clothes shopping, which always is so fun (*gags*). I can never find any pants that I like or that fit. Rissa was getting so frustrated she was nearly in tears, and dad and mom were getting frustrated over her not being able to pick anything out, so dad was fussing at her, which wasn't helping. I tried to tell him to leave her alone, that she was trying not to cry and that he wasn't helping, which just made him mad at me.

Overall, the trip coulda been worse-- but it coulda been a lot better.

Anyway, wish me luck with tomorrow. I'm going to go tear my hair out now. *collapses*

Why is my horny baboon French?!
Sorry, it's a quote from my mom. She was, for reasons that I'm sure made sense at the time, trying to sound like a sexually excited monkey, and a French accent kept sneaking in...

Anyway, forgive my last post. I put that movie up mainly to annoy my sister, who has an Axel fetish.

In other news, I think I'm trying for my driver's liscence tomorrow. Wish me luck with that, guys ^^; I'm somewhat nervous about it...

I pledge allegiance to the BAM...
BAM being Books-a-Million ^__^ I ordered books from BAM and Barnes&Noble, same retail price and all, and the one from BAM cost about seven dollars less and it got here first.

In other news, July 4th is tomorrow, Independence Day for us in the US. I'm not sure what we've got planned, but hopefully it will involve FIRE... Heehee, I like burning things. So long as it's not me, anyway ^_^

Well, everyone have a happy 4th, and don't burn each other too badly ^_^

Edit: Well, my other book just got here, so the one from BAM only beat Barnes and Noble by about two or three hours *shrugs* Go figure!

Anime! Gags! Excitement! W00t!
Quite a bit's happened, even since just a couple of days ago-

BTW, thanks, DarkeAngel, for your comment ^_^ (You're the only one who does comment anymore *glares at Flueky and Min-chan*)

Well, yesterday Mitzy and I went on an anime-fest. There was a sale on manga at the bookstore, which we took advantage of (three for two ^_^) though we haven't gotten to read them yet, and then we stopped by our CD store, which also has DVDs and we found all kinds of anime that we'd not seen there before.

Long story short, we bought two full series (I think they're the entire things, anyway)- Last Exile, a box set for $99.99, and Shrine of the Morning Mist, which looked pretty good, for about... $45, I think. So tax included, we spent $160 at that store alone.

At work that same night, I scared the crap outta my manager and Mindy. They were closing down the store and had just turned out the lights. I was gonna go scare Mindy- I swear I didn't even think about my manager- so I went dashing through the dark store to hide behind some clothes racks. When they walked by, I jumped out and screamed. My manager yelled and Mindy jumped, and it really was hilarious. My manager promised to get me back, though... <.< >.>

So Mindy and I went back to my house for a several hour long anime marathon, after which we slept til about ten. Or I did, anyway.

We got up this morning and got everyone together to head for the pool, which was tremendous fun. We had Mitzy, Flueky, Brittany, Shadowtiger69, Ryuu-Kiba (my sister), and Alexia with us. I don't think one of us managed to avoid getting dunked, and I've got myself sunburned again. Oh well. Worse things could happen...

Shadowtiger and Alexia had to be home by six so me and Mitzy hopped in the car and stopped by Sonic to get something to eat before we took them home. We had onion rings, fries, a cherry limeade, a Butterfinger shake, and some French Toast things with syrup. Lots of messy things in Mindy's poor car ^^;;

And then...
SLAM!

That was basically how it went, anyway. We were laughing and eating and just generally minding our own business when Mindy stopped at a red light... and the car behind us didn't. It was raining- we think he skidded or something, but he hit us going at around 30 or 40 miles per hour, which caused us to slam forward into the car in front of us, which bounced us back into the car behind us again which ping-ponged us back into the car in front of us again. And each time we hit the different cars, we were thrown forward toward the windshield or back into our seats. We all screamed, and by the time we finally stopped moving, I was screaming, "Is everyone alright?", Mindy was screaming, "I can't believe this!", Shadowtiger was just screaming in general, and Alexia was sitting there all wide-eyed.

We moved off to the shoulder or the road with the other two cars while Mindy called her mom, then 911. I saw the guy in the car in front of us get out to check damage, so I got out to make sure everyone was ok. Keep in mind we were on the side of a busy, busy road in peak traffic hours, and we had just gotten out of the pool. So here I was, in the rain, still in my bathing suit, on the side of the highway, asking a random stranger if he and everyone in his car were alright.

He said they were all fine, so I went around to look at Mindy's car. The front decoration plate thing was in the road, so I picked that up. Her hood was kinda funny shaped, and her headlights were pointed in weird directions, and in the back her spare tire had absorbed some of the shock but there were still some dents. All in all, the car had seen better days. Luckily, it was still drivable.

The police came and cleared Mindy of any blame, and was very nice and patient about everything and let us go. Shadowtiger's grandma came to pick her up before we left the scene of the accident.

We finally got back home and tried to have a normal night, which has worked so far. I got a laptop from my parents for my b-day/graduation, and we watched Monk. Well, most of us watched Monk. After all the adrenaline and our animefest last night, Mindy flopped out on my bed at about 8:00 and she's still there. It's 11:00 now. I can see her from here. She's got a kind of funny look on her face...

Anyway, point is, we're ok. We had fun with anime and the pool, and if nothing else, that wreck will make this a darn memorable birthday!
Hope you guys are having fun too!

Happy B-day to meeee...
Well, I'm 18 now. I'm legally allowed to do everything except drink. All those websites that pop up that "Do not click this link unless you are 18 or over" thing at you? I'm old enough to go there now. Not that I plan on it. Some things I don't really FEEL ready for, eheheheheh...

Oddly enough, I don't feel any older. I mean, it's kinda weird, because I'm older than most of my favorite anime characters now. And now, I realize that being 18 is just like being 17, for the most part. Maybe I should go do something "adult" so I'll feel older?

Nah...

In other news... I feel as though I'm overdue for some depression again, but I can't quite work myself up to it, cause I'm really having a good day- well, week, really. So now I've just got this half-arsed 'I should be depressed but I'm not' mood going on, rather than being depressive and sniffly for a few days so I can get over it and go back to normal again. It's weird. Meh.

And to your left you will see the leaning tower of pizza. ...Or not...

And so now I leave you with this parting gift for all you SEED lovers- or Flay-haters, as the case may be...
This scene was edited out of the original anime.

Quite a bit going on...
Darke Angel hath arrived! Well, really, he go here about a week ago ^^;;; I've just been too lazy to post. You guys know how I am, I guess. We've been to Gatlingburg (which was fun- we went to a bunch of Ripley's places-- a big aquarium and a museum, and a moving theater, which wasn't really that great ^^;;;-- and caving, and we got lost out on the roads for forever... and we did get to a Books-A-Million, where we spent quality time in the floor reading manga). It was really fun (even if the hot tub at the cabin was kinda cold and smelled like lakewater...-- it had a cool game room though).

Currently, my muse (you know, the little creature that gives you inspiration?) is trying to KILL ME. It's making me want to do something creative and NOT GIVING ME ANY IDEAS. I really would like to do a fanfic... *sniffle* Oh, well. I guess something will come to me eventually.

I'll try to keep you posted on happenings ^_^

Oh. Duh. By the way... I've graduated from high school. Madatory schooling is OVER for me. Woo-hoo! I now face college and adult life! Wish me luck! *nervous laugh*

Manga roundup!
Hello, everyone. I'm doing fine- just got some manga ^_^ They had a sale at our bookstore (buy two get one free). Which is a good one for manga.

I tried xxxHolic, which is by CLAMP, one of my favorite authors (group of authors, actually). If you've ever read anything by CLAMP, chances are you'll see plenty of familiar things in xxxHolic, especially is you've read or seen Cardcaptor Sakura. Characters and items also make appearances from Magic Knight Rayearth and Legal Drug, as well as other series that I can't remember right off hand. The characters are hilarious- the mysterious, drunken space-time witch Yuko, who openly admits that this isn't her real name, and the excitable, clueless Watanuki-kun who now works for her. With fun wordplay (such as the helpers Moro and Maru, whose full names mean "to expose oneself in public") and thought-provoking takes on reality and life in general, it's definitely a series worth reading.

I also bought Legal Drug (another CLAMP series) out of curiousity after it was metioned in xxxHolic. The store only had volumes 2 and 3 (but I do have volume 1 on order), but it didn't interfere too much with my understanding of 2 and 3. As far as I can tell, the story goes like this: Rikuo, who works/lives at a pharmacy, finds a random guy (Kazahaya) unconcious outside and carries him back home. Kakei, the store owner, agrees to let Kazahaya stay if he works as well. Both boys have psychic powers, of sorts, and Kakei routinely sends the boys on extra errands that take advantage of these 'talents'. There are mysterious backstories for both main characters. Both seem to have lost someone important to them, and the store owner seems to have some secrets as well. Just so youknow, everything I've seen has said that Legal Drug is not meant to be shounen-ai. I don't know if I agree. CLAMP stepped over their usual borders this time, I think, and even if the two main characters don't have feelings for each other, their boss and Saiga (I don't really know who Saiga is or what he has to do with anything) do. However, I think the story is good enough that even people who don't care for shounen-ai would enjoy it. Now, the ANTI-shounen-ai people might be a different story...

Well, I think I'm gonna go fanart. Questionable orientations or not, the characters are pretty cute ^___^

He was my ducky, partner.
Sorry, I was watching NCIS the other day and messed up a quote from it when talking to my mom.

Anyway, as you've probably noticed, I've changed some things. My background is now Loveless, as is my avatar, both of which I made myself. Does it look alright?

Shadowtiger69: I'll send you pics to try and make a bg out of, since you can probably do as well as I can, or better.

In other news, life has been pretty sucky this week. Pretty much none of my friends are happy- one had a grandfather die, one had to tell a guy with a major crush on her that she was taken, and one's parents are threatening to get rid of her pets. My English teacher is also not happy. Her sister died unexpectedly, and she's gone all depressed on us. On top of that, the class isn't doing too well and we seem to be making her mad.

I really can't wait for this week to be over. Hopefully the next one will be better.

On a lighter note, I had an interesting dream last night. WWIII was starting, and I was pretty well in the middle of it. The world was going to end at midnight.
So we all went outside to watch the end of the world. Mitzy was on one side of me and my sister was on the other. All of a sudden, on the horizon there was a bright orange glow, then a big rolling mass of smoke and flames heading toward us. I grabbed my sister and Mindy and yelled, "I love you guys! Peace out!"

Don't ask.

Just before we were all incinerated, it turned into a movie- kinda. It had still happened, but we were alive, somehow. The entire world was swamped by tidal waves from the blast, though. And then... the antichrist appeared. In the form of Kaworu from Evangelion. Whom I happen to like. And the anti-antichrist appeared to fight him. The anti-antichrist was Duzell, an effeminate vampire from Vampire Game. They fist fought over the fate of the world, and just as I though one would win, a commercial came on, advertising the fight as a video game that would come out in September.

So, beware depressed teachers and anime antichrists.

Oh, and have a nice day.

In case any of you missed it...
I didn't see this on theo's news a while ago, so maybe some of you didn't either. If you like FullMetal Alchemist at all, check out this video. It's "Brothers" sung in English by Vic Mignogna, Edward Elric's dub voice.
