Learn something new everyday, ne?
This is something all you Zodiac fanatics might find interesting-

I may not be exactly right on all the reasons why and how, but there IS an actual thirteenth western zodiac sign, one that's not included in the 12 traditional ones.

What happened was, each constellation is a different size, so the sun doesn't pass through each sign equally. It stays in some signs longer than others, and each astronomer had his own ideas about where the boundaries for each constellation should be. They finally settled things about 60 years ago when the international Astronomical Union published a set of official specifications that tells where each sign begins and ends.

The new boundaries that were drawn somehow added in another constellation, and it was found that the sun traveled through 13 constellations, not 12.

This thriteenth constellation is known as Ophiuchus, the Snake Bearer. However, Ophiuchus was never really recognized as part of the zodiac, since doing so would throw off all the other dates of the other zodiac signs and the days would be shared unequally.

If you were born between November 30th and December 17th, then you are an Ophiuchus. There are different versions of the story of Ophiuchus, but the most common says that he was a healer who found the secret to eternal life from watching a snake as it brought herbs to heal one of its mates. In order to keep the healer from turning all of humanity immortal, Zeus killed him, but put him in the heavens for his noble work.

Interesting, no?
