   Chapter 1: Reversal of Time
We all have our days from Hell right? … Well mine became a year from Hell when my best friend of ten years admitted he loved me… All's well and good … I'm in love with him as well…Problem is …I don't know how to tell him… Maybe…:"
“ Huh?”
Loralei drops the journal she was writing in as she slams into a large stone wall.
“When did this get here?... Ow!....” she rubs her head gently and looks around confused. She glances back down into her journal to see a blank page where she had been writing.
“Huh?!!! Wha.. Where did it go..” She flips through her journal to see all the pages are blank.
“My Journal! What happened? where'd all my poems go… Oh…!” The whole while she's lamenting those loss of her words she doesn't notice the cloaked figure approaching her slowly from the east. She doesn't notice the gleam of metal in the dimming sunlight. She doesn't hear the sword being drawn from her right side. She's oblivious to all around her until she hears a loud, CLANG! She jumps and whirls to face it.. Two cloaked figures are standing before her. One with his back to her, within arms reach and the other facing her, but she can't see his face. Both trying to break the others grip on their sword. The one with his back to her is wearing a blood red cloak the other is wearing a pale grey cloak.
“Get out of here! I can't hold him forever! Run!... I'll see you at the Setting Sun.. GO!”, the man in the red cloak yells to Loralei.
“Wha.. Oh!...” she takes off to the west.
“Wrong way You Twit… to the east!”
“Don't be so mean!...Besides he'll stab me if I run by right now…”
The battle ceases and both men stop and stare at each other, the man in red slowly turns to face her.
“What?....” The man in grey speaks and then begins to laugh heartily.. the man in red looks exasperated. His emerald green eyes sparkle gently and his lips twitch into a slight sneer. His long black hair falls loosely at his shoulders in loose waves.
“Why… Are you…. You.. You're not Yukiko…. Are you…”
“Who?”
“Damned .. Wrong person Baler…” The man in grey snickers. “She is cute though!”
“Yea.. she is.. So what's you name kid…” The man in red pulls out a clove cigarette and begins smoking as Loralei looks at the two of them bewildered and shocked.
“Well? You gunna answer kid?”
“…Bu.. Wha… What's going on just a moment ago you two were fighting now you're friends?!”
“Well yea…..It was supposed to be a staged fight for some one.. “
“… Bastard…”
“Wha.. What did you call me..” He looks at her in shock, apparently no one's ever called him a bastard before. Loralei stomps off to the west. With in moments she stomps back again and looks at the man in red angrily.
“Where's the main road….”
“Why should I tell you that?”
A loud smacking sound is heard as her hand lands square across his cheek. He stumbles back from the blow, his cheek pulsing red. He looks at her angrily.
“What'd you do that for…?!”
“Tell me where the main road is or I'll do it again!”
“Fuck.. It's to the east.” The man rubs his cheek in amazement. “Damn she hits hard!”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“So who was she Baler?” The man in the grey cloak asked quietly as he props his feet up on the tavern table. He unfastens the cloak and ruffles his short, curly brown hair gently. His deep stormy blue eyes sparkle mirthfully.
“She didn't say remember Argmond?” The man in red, Baler, responds coolly. He presses the cold glass of whiskey to his jaw where the woman had hit him..
“Loramot! She packs one hell of a punch…”
“So I see old friend… That's going to leave quite a bruise…”
“I wonder where she is now….Who she is even… She was beautiful. Nice breasts, arse…nice figure in general. Her lips… redder than the reddest rose…”
“Baler….. “ Argmond raises an eye brow questioningly as Baler trails off and a dreamy look crosses his face.
“Ba..!” He is cut off by the doors being flung open and the girl from before strides in annoyed. Argmond catches himself staring. Her long red hair had become disarrayed from earlier and little wisps of curls frame her face. Her eyes were the oddest thing about her. One the shade of the purest sapphire and the other the shade of the purest emerald. She was dressed in an odd manner, a knee length green dress that seems cut away, deliberately, slantways up her right hip. A lot of her leg could be seen. The top part of the dress clung to the willowy curves of her body and had no sleeves It seems the only thing holding the dress up was the neck piece, a black collar that covered the whole neck. There was no back to the dress at all. She wore black boots that seem to be made of suede, or some other soft material. Argmond nudges Baler from his reverie.
“Huh?!.. Ack!” Baler's chair is flipped out from under him as he falls hard onto the ground in front of the girl with a heavy thud
“You again!??” She boots him softly on the side. He winces and waits for the pain but it's more like a soft nudge and he looks up. Loramot…she's so beautiful.
“Heeeeelllloooo? You okay down there Mister?”
“I'm fine…” He quickly stands…. And dusts himself off, and his thoughts.
“Good I wanted to apologize for earlier… and also..” She leans in very close, Shit… She's going to kiss you, and whispers softly,
“Ask where in the bloody hell am I?”
She doesn't know where she is…
“What?”
“Ju…. Just answer the question! How far am I from Viaki?”
Baler begins laughing.. at first softly then hysterically at the question.
“You're in Viaki” He says quietly.
“….. This…. this… little medieval looking town is ….. Viaki…Wha.. what year is it?!”
Baler looked at the girl confused and cocked his head to the right.
“That's a stupid question… 1672…. It's May 1 to boot.”
The girl's jaw drops and her eyes go wide…. “You… you're kidding right?”
“No not at this point.. why would I joke about some thing like that?” Has she gone insane.. or maybe she smacked her head on that wall hard enough she forgot where she was.. maybe even who she is…
“What's your forename kid?” Argmond pitches in suddenly.
“Forena…. Oh.. It's um…. Oh….” The girl looks very confused and upset.
“Here… Sit down and have a drink.” Baler quickly pulls a chair out for her to sit down and motions for a tankard of ale the girl slowly sits down and stares blankly at the table, every now and then her glance would fall on the book in her lap. She would flip it open occasionally as if looking for answers. The tankard is set in front of her and she absent-mindedly reaches into a bag at her hip that isn't there.
“Hmm?...” Baler quickly pulls a silver out and hands it to the barmaid and leans in close and whispers, “She's forgotten who she is….”
“Oh… Ma'am I will have a nice roasted quail out in just a few moments for you!”
“Thank you” She mumbles softly as she runs her fingers over the crimson velour on the cover of the book.
Baler looks at Argmond helplessly, Argmond stands up.
“I'll leave the two of you to get better acquainted”
“Wait what?! Don't go Argmond So help me Loramot!”
“Lora… mot? … “ the girl looks up her brow furrows, “Lora,,, Lora lei!”
“What?” Baler turns and looks at her puzzled.
“I'm L.. Loralei!” She smiles suddenly, “My name I remembered!”
Baler looks at Argmond puzzled, “How did she get.. Loralei from … Oh never mind… So Loralei… Where are you from…”
“Miktung.. near the River of Tears.”
”Well at least you remember that..”
“I think…” Baler falls heavily in his chair exasperated while Argmond sneaks away to get rooms for the three of them.

Loralei sits in the bed staring out the window next to it, watching the sun set quickly behind storm clouds. Her journal lay on the bed next to her. Baler … looks so familiar... seems so familiar… How do I know him And why do I have these feelings towards him?......Why did I forget who I am?... Did I hit my head too hard?....
A shadow darts by her window suddenly…
“Huh?”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
A scream and the shatter of glass, from upstairs, shatters the jovial mood in the bar.
Baler jumps up and looks up the stairs as Argmond runs towards them.
“The scream came from Loralei's room!”
Baler takes off up the stairs easily surpassing the nimble Argmond. His heart was pounding. I've only known her for a few hours and I feel like I've known her for years… Why do I feel such a sharp agonizing pain ….. Why can't I focus when she's around…
“Loralei! Loralei!” He runs to the door and bashes it open. Shards of glass are spread out around the room. Loralei's journal is torn in half a few specks of blood fell on one page. Baler picks it up and reads the page slowly. Baler … looks so familiar... seems so familiar… How do I know him And why do I have these feelings towards him?......Why did I forget who I am?... Did I hit my head to hard?....
His hands shake as they fall to his sides.. His knees wobble as he stares out the broken window. Argmond looks out the window.
“They're heading east! Lets g… Baler?...” Argmond looks over at his friend, as Baler's fists ball up tightly. Baler charges the window and leaps out landing on the ground below, the landing didn't seem to slow him in the slightest. In the many years Argmond had known Baler he had seen these rages frequently but none quite like this. It seemed more.. much more emotional and he could have sworn there was a tear in his eye. Argmond picks up the page that had dropped next to him from Baler's hand. Baler … looks so familiar... seems so familiar… How do I know him And why do I have these feelings towards him?......Why did I forget who I am?... Did I hit my head to hard?.... He stared at the page for a moment… Di... did this cause his rage…
He quickly darts out the door and gives chase. The people in the bar try to stop him to ask him what's going on, but he presses on shouting over his shoulder, “All will be explained when We return….”
“BALER!!!” he knew shouting like that was no good Baler wouldn't respond, his mind too far gone into a flurry of thoughts that will consume him until his goal is met.
