Summer work kinda sucks ...
I have a paper on As I Lay Dying due Friday. I have to find an optimistic theme. I have read the book already, but how much optimism is there in a book about a family dragging their mother to her resting place (whether or not she's dead), as they all slowly lose it on the way?
I have my history crap due the 17th, so I need to work on the first two chapters, which are kind of random. (The intro suggested I read the author bios to evaluate if they had the credentials to make assesments ... well, I have to use the book whether or not they do, and I'm supposed to be making assessments with my limited knowledge, so does that matter?)
I have a paper on The Invisible Man due the 26th.
I also have to read Profiles in Courage and The Jungle and do a few chapters of statistics stuff before the first day on the 8th of September.
And every night, I have to listen to my sister whine about The Count of Monte Christo and get hysterical over it, which gets me upset, so I read one of my happy things, so I giggle, which irritates her, so she yells more.
Speaking of happy things, fans of dark fantasy (or fantasy in general) should go find "The Garbeliad" online. I don't remember where it is, but if you search that on Google, you can find it. It's a superb parody of dark fantasy written by Garth Nix.
