   Monkeys ate it.
Looks like the wallpaper is down for maintenance... maybe they need to scrub their eyeballs like I do...

For some reason, this bizarre site has also removed the link to my fan art from the bottom of this page. Here it is, in case you just can't wait for this place to get its kittens back together. There's nothing new there... but I always like to see new comments.

Oh... and I've decided that I'm a little TOO obssessed. I'll be taking a break for a bit. No new wallpaper or fan art until I make at least one peice of non-anime art.

Where the heck did I put my paints?

Probably next to the kitten.

   Gather Round, Learn a Secret...
The secret to happiness in life is not what you do, but how you do it.

For example, I love doing laundry.
This isn't due to any virtue in the laundry itself, but due to the way I do it.

1. Have your computer, gaming console of choice, music source and other deeply enjoyable entertainment within 10 steps of the washer and dryer.

2. Get a good cup of coffee; in fact, take the pot with you to where the laundry will be. Bring the Fruit Center Peek Freans with you.

3. Turn on the tunes. I like anything with Toshihiko Seki (V.A. for both Duo and Sanzo, which is funny in itself) singing in it, because it makes me laugh so hard I drop stuff.

4. Sort and start laundry. Put a blanket in the dryer for a few minutes while the washer is starting so you can wrap up in it fresh and warm.

5. Sit down and drink the coffee, eat cookies, and pet a kitten. Play videogames, update your silly Otaku page, make bishi wallpaper.

6. THE BEAUTIFUL PART: The dryer will beep every half hour or so. That's the precise minute when your hands will be getting cold and your eye will get square. Get up, strech your legs, save your game, and go warm up your hands by folding toasty hot, nice-smelling laundry.

7. Do the laundry for everyone in the house. That way they not only think you're a good person, but think they owe you a favor for doing something you thoroughly enjoyed.

Try it. It's a remarkable joy.

Don't forget to scratch the kitten's ears. They like that.

   Here's to the Breaking Storm!
Uh, not the one outside. It's still freezing out there. I mean my minor monk mania...

I finally moved on to another series, hence my first Gundam Wing wallpaper. I hope you like it...

On my freaking-huge monitor, it feels like I'm sitting having tea with Trowa. Should I hang a picture on the wall? Should I get a life?

But doesn't he look like he's trying to pass you a plate of cookies? I bet they'd be Peek Freans.

   Yet more of the neverending...
Saiyuki Wallpapers.

Did I mention that I'm doing all of this with an ancient copy of Paint Shop Pro 4... that's right, 4. It crashes every 15 minutes...

But I love it. Like I love old jazz and old cats and comfy old shoes.

I tried the most recent one ... and the learning curve over-shot my laziness curve by an unknown amount.

Change is bad, unless it's found in the couch or in the ashtray.

   It's -40'Celcius
... and I'm not leaving the house.

People seem to be responding fairly well to my new Saiyuki fetish, so maybe I'll go through my horde of collected art from GWing and make some paper for that, too.

I actually did a bunch of Saiyuki sketches, and another big peice of a Final Fantasy character... but my hands aren't working very well today, so I'm not going to bother hooking up my scanner to get them in here.

Lazy bum, that's what I am.

However, my reluctance to get off said bum and post my own art is leading to the manipulation of other people's, and a possiblity of more prettiness.

Wheeee.

Sweet Merciful Kittens, it's cold.

   Crack-load o' Crack!
I've been making wallpaper, which is new for me. Basicly, I'm taking pics that I've found on teh net that always have writing on them, book covers, etc. and faking the missing bits. I'm quite proud of how they've turned out. Go see if you can spot the places I've put back together.

As a hint, the Sanzo with a Blue background was the hardest of the bunch.

Anyway... I need more coffee.
And a life.
And a Kitten!

Boredom and Cold Combine to Form ...
More Saiyuki wallpaper, apparently.

And I finally went and bought a licensed copy of Gensoumaden Saiyuki the Manga. Now I can sit in bed with a warm kitten on my lap, drinking hot rum and staring at bishonen. The winter is looking better already.

Actually, it looked better right from the moment that I figured out I don't live in Southeast Asia by the way that the land and sea aren't currently attacking me. I've never been so thankful that I live a 12 hour drive from the nearest ocean.

Yep, only the sky attacks us here. That being said, it's currently -30' Celcius, which is "like, minus a bajillion Farenheit" for you Imperial guys. This snowstorm should continue through March, and the local "city" (pop. 500,000, an hour's drive from me) is opening the subway stations for the homeless to sleep in at night. This isn't out of kindness or charity, it's because it's inconvenient, expensive and discouraging to tourism to have dead people frozen to the ground in store doorways and mall entrances.

Yet tiny birds sit outside my window and sing... I wonder if they're frozen to the branches and the 'song' is actually a frantic call for help. However, even their unimaginable cuteness won't make me go out there to check.

Heat is a beautiful thing.

Wazoo.
Will someone please invent a cure for the common cold? And then make it cheap enough for me to buy without giving up food?

Until that precious day, there is only the loyalty of NyQuil...

   Fan Service? Oh Yes...
I started watching Saiyuki in November. I finished watching the last remaining episodes of a 50 episode 1st series and 26 episode 2nd series a week ago. I finished reading the 55th chapter of the first manga series last night... and I'm now almost done the RELOAD series, currently available fan translated from MangaCity. The Second Volume that's listed but not available on that website is available from Silent Moon, right here.

A-hem.

I feel I owe all womankind and - specifically Kazuya Minekura, who draws this incredibly beautiful stuff - an apology for saying this... but it's still pure, refined estrogen crack.

The manga has detail and continuity that the anime doesn't. It's astoundingly beautiful in so many ways, and gut-wrenchingly sick in so many more, and ...

ah, who am I kidding?

They get tossed in a river at the beginning of the "Against the Stream" storyline, and for the next 6 volumes they wander around soaking wet with no shirts on.

I'm sorry everyone. I don't listen to "boy bands", my wallpaper is a tropical island with no people visible, my calendar contains pictures of kittens...

Curse you, Kazuya! Curse you and your Marlboro-smoking monk!

So I made some wallpaper for it. Should be up under Saiyuki wallpaper. And if you're silly enough to want another addiction, go get some at those links.

   There it is, living proof...
Okay, I finally found the screenshot I was looking for.

This, my friends, is what I look like reading the morning paper with a zit on my forehead... Except Sanzo is much, much prettier than me. Dammit.

And I'm not blonde. Thank goodness. Because that would be creepy. Dammit.

Dammit. Why do I always seem to end up looking like gorgeous anime... guys? Poot.
