   Would you like to see my viscera?
I remember where I was when I learned the meaning of the word "immolation." I was sitting at my kitchen table, listening to the radio news announce that a woman had died of "self-immolation" during a protest at a large gathering of people.

I have a dictionary on my kitchen table for the crossword, and I looked it up.

"Self-immolation" is the act of setting one's self on fire.

I remember that I sat at a table and learned this new word because another woman half-way round the world had decided that a cause was worth sacrificing her life for, dying a violent and painful death.

I remember the word, but I don't remember what she was protesting...

It's raining tonight. The medication I take to control the pain from chronic arthritis is wearing off. I can't hear the rain outside anymore, but I can feel the damp, I can see the clouds in the window.

Some part of me wonders if the same late rain that is making my life painful would have saved hers, months ago.

Words, words, words... better to use less of them, perhaps?

   Devil's Advocate Anyone?
I don't mind negative votes. I'm quite comfortable with people having different opinions and preferences to me... What I would _love_ are some negative comments...

Sound bizarre? I can't get better if you don't tell me what you don't like.

The only problem with this is that the people who don't like my stuff aren't likely to come to this site... =^o.o^= So how do I get the can opener out of the can?

   Stood up.
A friend was supposed to pick me up for coffee... then something unavoidable happened. The end result is that I had a whole afternoon to re-color Quatre.

Hope you like the new version.

Will re-do Trowa next, since I hate that pic... I don't know why I posted such a pathetic job. In case anyone cares, the Duo pick is the first I did, and my favorite. I love the little bat wings. Maybe I'll put a little empty coffee cup in beside him... ^^, u~~

   Sore wa himitsu desu ka?
I've stumbled upon it! The secret of how to get people to vote/comment! Either you have to be really, really good (which won't be happening to me any time soon), or you have to be funny, and involve as many series/characters as possible.

   Word to the Water-Wize
I love to swim. When I was a kid my parents had to chase me out to the deep end like a kid-shaped crocodile, catch me and drag me kicking-and-screaming, out of the water. Granted, they don't have to do that anymore... if I stay past closing time, it's the lifeguard's job!

*^^* A-hem.

Anyway... my love for water is equalled by my fear of heights. Hence, the diving board.

Terrified of getting on that stupid thing. Make myself do it, in a frantic attempt at self-improvement. Go to the end...

And an old man hollers at the top of his lungs, directly behind me:
"DON'T HOLD YOUR NOSE! HUM!! HUUUMM!"

As if the voice of the Almighty himself was shouting for me to bloody well get on with it, and provide musical accompaniment to boot!

So, I fell off the diving board...

humming...

and discovered a strange secret as I re-surfaced...

If you hum through your nose as you dive, you don't get water up your nose. No holding, no blowing, no spluttering... just hum. Turns out the hollering madman was an aquatics instructor some time before World War I...

So, yeah... I'm not dead. The humming thing did the trick.
