   My Body is a Chemical Wasteland
Life persists only in cracks and crevices,
//strange creeping things
//ancient and ugly and scaled.

Lifeless the landscape as I stretch
//fat-folded hills,
//ragged patterns of stubble crusts.

The odd volcanoe, overflowing with life
//or are those cells dead?
//Unremembered biology is unhelpful at best.

Pity the worn traveller seeking solace.
//Nothing survives here.
//Inside or out, I am hostile terrain.
