"I'm not going to teach some girl alchemy!" Ed yelled. "Excuse me but you don't need to teach me anything! I don't need a teacher! And i'm not 'some girl', I have a name, you know! It's Kayla, so use it!" Kayla yelled back. "I've got more important things to be doing than teaching you!" "I'm sorry, but I only talk to people OVER 5 feet." She said, turning away. "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!?"
"FullMetal! Quiet down. Kayla, you too!" Mustang commanded. Ed and Kayla sat on the couch in his office, each sitting on the opposite side from the other, and taking a second to cool down. "Now, do you want to take the state exam or not?" "Well, yeah, I do, but-" "No buts! FullMetal, You'll be taking Kayla on any missions of yours until the exam. Until then= dismissed." Mustang said.
The two walked out of his office, still pretty fumed. Kayla looked to her right, noticing a tall- probably somewhere around 7 foot tall- suit of armour. "Uhmm..." Al looked down at her, "Oh- hi!" Kayla blinked, and then walked closer, examining the armour, and poking at it. "What is this- some kind of robot?" "Uhm, no, my names Alphonse. Alphonse Elric." The armour said. Kayla frantically backed away. "WHAT THE-??"
"Don't be scared!" Al said. Kayla started to giggle, chuckle, and then laugh, making Ed and Al stare at her. "What's so funny?" Ed said. "Scared? Me? Scared? psshaw. I just haven't seen a soul attachment like that in...years!" "You...know what I am!?" Al asked, a little shocked. "Well, no offence. But it's just a little bit obvious." Ed interrupted, "If it's so obvious then how did you know!?" "Easy, the sound of his voice. I's echoed and hollow." Ed and Al blinked, and then exchanged glances, as Kayla giggled. Ed scoffed, "Talk about mood swings." "SHUT UP!" Kayla yelled in his face, as Ed backed away wide-eyed. Kayla giggled once more, and then held out her hand. "Sorry, I haven't introduced myself properly. My names Kayla- Kayla Namine." Ed took her hand, and shook it, as Al did the same. "I'm Edward Elric." "And I'm Alphonse Elric!" Kayla smiled, and then looked at Ed. "Wait...so...YOU'RE Edward Elric- the FullMetal Alchemist Edward Elric!?" "Yeah. What? You couldn't hear Mustang yelling my name?" Ed looked at her with a face that would make anyone laugh, he was looking at her like she was extremely out of her head. "Oh- you're right. Sorry. It's just...I would have expected THE FullMetal Alchemist to be a little bit tal-" Kayla was cut off by Al holding his hand over her mouth, and whispering something in her ear, "Sorry. But brother doesn't really like it when...people make fun of his height." Ed glared at her intensively, "What was that!? I couldn't quite hear you!" Kayla grinned nervously, "Nothing! Nothing at all!"
Ed, Al, and Kayla were walking to the mess hall to get something to eat. Ed, as always, was hungry, and Kayla's stomach had growled, also. "So, Kayla, why do you want to become a state alchemist, anyway?" Al asked. Kayla glared daggers at him, "That's nobody's business! Why does everybody keep asking me that!?" Both Ed and Al, snapped their attention somewhere else, deciding not to stare at her to make her made. "S-Sorry! You're right! It's none of my business!" Al said.
The three found a table to sit down at, Kayla sat down while Ed and Al went to get food for them(well...Ed, i mean) and her. Kayla heard somebody sit down in front of her. When she looked up, there was a man with glasses, black somewhat-spiky hair and a short buzzed beard. It was...
