Here is the next part of my story, speak to you all later :)
Chapter 6 – Tsume’s Discontent
Waking up, the morning air filled the room, creating a bright orange glow on the walls, slipping through the blinds slits, the room illuminated by it. Sitting up, Richard looked to his side, Blue and Kiba were not longer at his side, and he was sat in the bed alone.
Getting up, slowly he looked around the room; at the bottom of the bed was a new T-Shirt, a white one like Kiba’s, walking over to it. Looking at it for a few seconds, it wasn’t there last night, it must have been put there this morning, so, picking it up, he slipped it over his head, I was a good fit for him. He walked back to the window and looked out of it, the glow filled the city, and the entire city glowed as if it was on fire, the brightness shining off the window and bouncing off into every direction, it was as he looked out he heard the door open, turning around he saw Blue standing at the door, she looked over to him and smiled,
“Good morning, glad to see you are awake, and you found the T-Shirt I left out for you” she walked over to him and used her hands to work out the cresses in the T-Shirt, “A lot better” she smiled and walked back over to the door, Richard stood at the window still looking at her, he didn’t know what to think, but, said the words, silently,
“Thank you” looking down and still not having the confidence to look up, he heard a friendly laugh from her as she got back to the door,
“It’s no problem, now come on, it’s breakfast time” Richard shot his head straight up to this, he couldn’t go downstairs with the others, he knew that Tsume and the others were not too great fans of a Human been with them,
“I can’t, I mean, I don’t want to disturb all of you” he looked back down again, “I know I am not liked, I will stay here, you go and have breakfast” she gave a sharp and direct grunt at this point, and he heard her footsteps again, walking over to him, taking him by the arm, locking with him, walking with him across the room,
“I will force you down there if I have to, you need to eat, don’t worry about the others, they will get used to it in time” she released him at the door, he sighed slightly, but he could not disobey Blue, she had been too kind to him, so, for her, he would do it, and muttered under his breath, ever so silently,
“Ok”, with this, he slowly walked down the stairs, the sound of his footsteps, and Blues behind him echoing through the old, creaky floorboards, it was an old house. Stumbling slightly, his leg still not all too together, he got to the floor at the bottom.
Once there, he was immediately greeted by a sweet smell, he could smell the bacon as it cooked on the stove, and the rest of it, cracking, filling the air with sweet smells of food, his mouth watered at this, but, he still did not know if it was right. So, with Blue behind him, just to make sure he would not turn around, he walked into the Kitchen.
Inside, he saw the smoke from the pans rise to the ceiling, and the rest of the Wolves, all in there Human form around the table, they were talking just before he came in, they immediately stopped dead, even in moving as he walked in, been led to a chair near the side of the table, next to Kiba, Blue sat at his right side, Kiba at the head of the table. Looking down immediately, he didn’t want to disturb them from whatever they were talking about, but still, they stayed quiet. Richard began to feel slightly uncomftable as they continued to only mumble to each other, glancing looks at him as he grasped his hands in his lap and looked down, he could feel there stares on him, but, before anything could be done of it, he felt a hand on his shoulder, looking to his side, looking up, he saw Kiba’s hand on his shoulder, he smiled, nothing said, Richard slightly smiled, he knew he had at least one friend at this table.
As this was done, Blue put plates full of food out on the table, pilled high of food, Richard looked as his as it was put down, she had been gracious enough to remember he didn’t have an appetite of a Wolf, and so, did not pile his plate as full as the others, it was more of a generous helping, still, perhaps a bit much ever for him. They sat down and were about to eat, but, before Richard could pick up his knife and fork, he heard a voice, it was Tsume, “So, What is the Human doing down here with us anyway?” he could tell he was not talking; ‘to’ him, but ‘about’ him, he knew he was not welcome with the tone Tsume had in his voice, he could understand this, and let out a slight sigh. Tsume had got a reaction from the others around the table, they stopped there eating, looking at him, Richard could hear Blue growl slightly at this comment.
The environment had turned very tense now, something had to be done about it, so, slowly, pushing his chair back, Richard picked up his plate and knife and fork, placing them over his food, and said, walking away from the table, into the living room, “He’s right, I will go somewhere else, sorry” he walked out of the room at a quick pace, he didn’t want to be a bother any longer in there than he had to be. He bowed, slightly, and left.
Walking into the room, he sat himself down on the sofa, looking over to the fire, the embers burning ever so dimly still in there; the logs still a light from them. He began to eat his food slowly, he couldn’t hear what was been said in the kitchen, but he knew something was going on in there, he heard voices, aggravated.
As Richard left the room with his plate, all the Wolves watched him, accept Tsume, who grunted and continued to eat his food, like nothing had happened, it was Blue who spoke up first, “You insensitive bastard, you know how long it took me to coax him down here, to feel happy, you have just destroyed that, that Human is lost, depressed, are you trying to make him feel totally alone” she shot him a look of disgust, she had worked hard to make him feel better, Tsume grunted and didn’t respond to her question, but instead carried on eating, Blue growled loudly to this, and slammed her fist down on the table, knocking the food slightly,
“She’s right Tsume” Kiba spoke up now, looking straight forward across the table, not looking at Tsume sat on his left, “It took us along time to get his confidence back, you are destroying that, we need him, you must understand how he feels, he thinks he has no friends, only enemies” Kiba looked down, continuing, “Can you at least try and accept him” Toboe smiled, he was sat next to Tsume, and said to him, turning his head,
“Yeah, come on Tsume, he isn’t like any other Human anyway, I am sure you can accept him, he seems nice enough to me” Toboe smiled, putting his hand next to his side,
“I am trying at least, he does seem different, I am sure we can get along” Hige, who had been sat next to Blue stuffed another piece of bacon into his mouth saying this, even this tense moment wouldn’t stop his gut,
“You see Tsume, everyone else is trying, why can’t you” Tsume still had not moved through all of this, he had continued to eat his food as normal, as if nothing happened, but, after this last comment from Kiba, he slammed his food onto his plate again, almost shattering it, and said, aggravated,
“He is still a human, have you not forgotten, they hate us” he snarled slightly,
“Not this one, if anything, he loves Wolves like family” Blue said, softening her tone and expression. Tsume suddenly changed his expression, looking at Blue,
“What!?” Kiba looked over to him.
“It is true, Richard, he loves Wolves, he is not scared of us at all, he would die to protect us, he has said this to us already, he does not want to be a bother to us either, but we have to help him, he isn’t from this world, perhaps he can help find paradise, as compared to this world, the one he is from, is paradise” Kiba smiled and stood up, walking towards the door, “Just consider it Tsume” Kiba walked out of the door, Blue also got up and followed, she didn’t say another word to Tsume as she walked out behind Kiba, leaving the others, sitting there, silently.
Richard continued to eat, sitting on the sofa, not looking up, he heard the argument had stopped now, and silence had fallen on the house. As he sat there, he felt the sofa dip slightly, looking sharply to his side, he saw Kiba sit next to him, leaning back into the chair, putting the hands from his pockets to the back of his head as he sat there, looking over to the fire, giving Richard a smile as he looked to him. Blue sat over on the chair at the side of him, sitting there, her hands on her lap, looking to Richard, she took a breath, Richard put his plate down, he had eaten as much as he wanted, he put his knife and fork on it, and placed it on the table, he had only eaten about half, he couldn’t bring himself to eat anymore, he didn’t feel the need to eat.
“Don’t worry about Tsume” Kiba said, sitting back up, looking over to the plate, and then back at Richard, Richard also looked over to him, “He needs time, he doesn’t understand, don’t let it get to you” Kiba moved over to him, now in his wolf form and laid down on the sofa, placing his muzzle on his lap, Richard moved his right hand and stroked him down his back, gently. He could feel Kiba nuzzle his leg slightly. Richard knew Kiba had been wild for a long time, but for some reason, been stroked by Richard, It gave him a strange feeling, filled him with warmth, he was the only human he had ever let do so.
“It is ok, I can understand how he feels, from what you have told me, Humans are scum here” he sat there, stroking Kiba still as he lay there, his eyes closed, his tail wagging slightly, Blue moved over to him, and sat on the arm of the sofa, placing her hands on his shoulder,
“We will take care of you, we are your friends after all” she smile saying this, running her hand through his hair, messing it up slightly, Richard placed his other hand on hers as it rested on her head, and tried to put his hair back down, she only messed it up again, they both laughed slightly,
“Friends?” he had never known what real friendship had been ,he had always been alone in life, he felt warmth in his heart, in his body, could it be he finally found someone who cared about him,
“Both of us” Kiba added in as he rested on his lap in his wolf form, drifting slightly. A tear ran down Richard’s cheek, but it was not of sadness, but happiness and he said, through his overwhelming happiness,
“Thank you” and he sat there, Blue at his side, and Kiba resting on his lap, as the last of the fire went out in the fireplace, smoke rising from it.
