   Muffin

Yup. I'm giving my site a makeover.

Thanks to Nausicaa for helping me sort the background out ^^

Anyways, I'm going to have a Yu Gi Oh theme...either that or I take some more pictures of my stationary...whadya think?

Anyways, yesterday I was thinking about cakes. Why? I have no idea...but I was just the same. The first thing that pops into my head at the thought of cakes is "Muffins". So, I'm gonna talk about muffins today...

Firstly, they are my favourite type of cakebecause they are sooo versatile! You can put all sorts of stuff in them: Chocolate, fruit, Nuts, Cheese, Vegetables, spices, herbs...anything. They can be eaten at any meal, as either the main course or the desrt, and they are just plain delicious.

Well, most muffins are.

About a year ago, I had a Muffin Cookbook with some awesome ideas for Muffins in them. I decided to go ahead and make some cherry muffins (by myself....no help from ANYONE! I'm surprised the kicthen didn't burn down, sctually...). I followed the recipe exactly, until it said to add a pinch of salt. Now, normally, I wuldn't have bothered, but seeing as I had never used the book before, I thought I ought to be safe and do so.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the cooking salt anywhere. I checked every single cupboard and shelf for it, but it wasn't there.

So, I had to make do witht he rock salt.

It said to add a pinch, so I dropped several large white cyrstals into the bowl.

After adding all the other key ingreidents, such as the glace cherries, I thought I would try something strange: I put blue food colouring into the mixture! It turned green, but it looked cool anyway.

Soon, my muffins were in the oven, baking away.

When they were done, I fetched them out and put them on a tray to cool. They looked a little weird: kinda flat...and squishy...and green...

No matter, i was sure they tasted fine.

No chance...

After just one bite I discovered that they were a little on the...gooey...side...

So, to make them a little firmer (O_o) I put them in the fridge for a while.

The next day, I decided the test them on my friends.

I took them to school in one of those ice-cream tub things and said I had muffins for everyone.

One strange concidence was that half of my clas had cooking in Technology today...

And they made muffins.

It got to lunch time, and outside everuone was sharing their newly cooked muffins.

They were really nice...

Anyway, I shared my muffins too. Well...I tried to. Most people were put off by the fact that they were green, and plenty others by the shiny-ness...

Of course, I braved them. They were a little hard...and a little ticky..and a little swet...but they were okay...I guess...

One of my friends finally got dared to try one, but I think maybe she wanted to anyway...

She described them as "Unusual"...she also found a huge cluster of rock salt waiting to surprise her in the center...

After that, I left them for the birds.

But even the birds didn't eat them...

The highlight of that day was me and my friends writing "Plop" in huge letters on the school playing field in flour.

I'm a master at culminary disasters...

Chocolate Cheese, for example...

Maybe my name should have been Squishy Muffins?

Wow...why do I remember things like that?

I suppose I was on a roll...

And my english teacher said that I have "A sophisticated and utterly absurd" way of writing things like this...I need to get a job..or a life...

Whatever...

I need to go and put some socks on....
