Hidden Dragon, Weeping Phoenix
Cothine glanced at the medallion clenched in her fist. The bird’s extended wings made her envious. How she wanted to fly out of everything that she was facing. Cothine sighed, and wiped the medallion clean with her sweatshirt sleeve. The red phoenix shone with happiness. She chuckled to herself. The bell to her high school rang loudly, warning her. She tucked the medallion under her sweatshirt, and bounded down the grass-eaten path. “Hum da la, da dum ha.” She closed her eyes for a moment, remembering the song that she knew by heart. A stray rock was placed in her path, and she didn’t realize it until her foot caught it. “Eeek!” She yelped, and tried to steady herself. She winced, awaiting the pain of knees against pavement. That’s exactly what she felt, too. Or so she thought. An incredibly (or she thought) strong arm had caught her arm, the grip calm and steady. She tried to peer over her shoulder, but the sun’s glare stopped her. “Uh…” The hand pulled her back to her feet, and she dusted herself off lightly. She looked up at the tall figure now blocking out the sun. A guy was staring down coldly at her. Not just any guy, but one of the most popular loner guys. "A...Atsui!” He glared down at her from his bucket hat covering his head. “Watch it.” She shrugged off his pressing grip. “…What?” He turned and walked past her, replying, “You’re in my way.” She felt incredibly hot at that point, and she stuck her tongue out at him behind his back. He was holding his ever-present skateboard, a dragon swirled in blue flames on the underside. His blackish brown hair stuck oddly out of his bucket hat, but it was pretty cool. Cothine watched the way he walked. Or, rather, glided. His feet were so fast; she found it difficult for a second to keep up with him. But, she was a fast walker too, so she reached his pace. Without glancing back at her, he said coldly, “What?” She stopped in her tracks, caught off-guard. “What the-?” How did he know she was there? Atsui swung something on the end of his pointer finger. He was wearing a pair of gloves, the kind that didn’t cover fingers. Cothine took a second to figure out what he was spinning. “M…My medallion!!” She yelped, clinging to her empty neck. He turned around, and tossed her back the bird. “A phoenix, huh?” Cothine caught it with her quick fingers, and slipped it over her head. “Oh, so at least someone doesn’t call it a cardinal.” Then she flinched. “YOU PERVERT!!!” He took a step back. “What?” She punched him on the shoulder, and he flinched. “God, you hit hard! Why are you…?” She kicked him, hard, and he bended over in pain. “Augh! No, it’s not like that!” As he flipped over, something fell off his neck. It landed on the ground a few feet away. “Stop! Go away, girl!” She stopped, her face still red with fury. She turned, and ran, all the way into the building, and paused beside a window. He picked up the necklace that had fallen, and put it back on. Well that’s different…she thought. From a distance, she could tell that he really cared about his necklace. The bell rang again.

Yes, long post. Sorry! What do ya think, guys? ^^
