Me (A "poem" by Colton (This one's actually by me)
Have you ever felt all alone?
Even when around you,
crowds of people passed by laughing and smiling.
Have you felt like…you’re the only one
with the world on your shoulders and because of your loneliness;
you’re not strong enough to hold it all.
You’re going to break down sooner or later.
Do you find yourself locking the door of your room and screaming…
just screaming. Putting all the pain and sadness into that one yell…
just to let the world know what you feel like.
Do you walk through the school hallways with your head down,
hair falling in front of your face.
No one’s going to talk to you because they know you’re the scary one.
The one that always stays quiet, just because you’re hurt.
Do you look into a cracked mirror, to find a pale, worn face.
And although you appear to be strong, really your eyes are scared.
Do you find yourself in the corner of your room with your head down
shadowed in a black hooded sweatshirt…
just silence…while tears slowly fall down your face.
Do you sometimes feel like everyone’s
smiling and laughing around you just to make you feel bad,
just to rub it in, that you’re not like them.
You’re the different one. While they’re the ones with lots of friends,
you’re standing there. All alone. Screaming for a way out,
and crying inside, not showing anyone your pain. Your pain.
But even though they’re the ones who ended up happy, you’re still
the stronger one who pulled through it all because even through
the pain for some reason you still stand here today with a tear-strained face.
You’re more of a soldier then they are.
Even if you are alone.
