Hey
I hope everyone's day has been good. This week has been most stressful since I've been wrapping up all my projects to present to the art dept. on Friday. I get my results afterward. If I pass, I'll go with it I guess, but if not, oh well. If I don't get in, I'm so changing to a psych/criminal justice major to get into forensic psychology or criminal investigations. It's just been so much easier. I've learned a lot about my current major of study, but damn, I don't think I've got what it takes to enter into the art program here. Besides, even if I take a different career path, I'm still going to be creating art no matter what. And I'll probably have an actual job than I would with an art degree to support myself and my passion. More logical that way I guess, and it takes the leg work out of figuring out what I want to do after graduation. I always have a back-up plan ;)

Well, I don't think I made it with my first job interview, but I got another call for one on campus today. It'll be custodial work, but at least I'll have something if I get it. So wish me luck for that! If not, I guess I'll keep on keeping on.

I wish it was warmer outside, it looks really nice out, but it's so cold. I hate it when Michigan is only warm 3 out of the 12 months..

Hey again
I am glad to hear that most of you are doing fine :)

I went to the interview, and it went well I think. It was kind of short though, and they said they would call back for a second interview if they think I have potential. If a week passes by and I don't get a phone call, well I guess I'll go searching again... Try to hit other businesses in town I've missed i.e. fast food restaurants.

Two weeks till review and 3 until finals for class. I have a color design class for art, and we were given 15+ pages of vocabulary for finals in the next three weeks... 5 weeks before finals. Wtf. He didn't even tell us we had exams. Most art classes don't have exams, we usually just pick up our work, chill, clean up, and leave during finals. So it makes me curious as to why he didn't let us know there was going to be an exam and give us vocab only weeks before. He said the exam was going to be matching, but still. My other classes are going well. Criminal Justice is a breeze and Writing is not too heavy work load wise.

I remember someone telling me that I must have it easy because I'm an Art and Psychology major.

LOL. LMFAO.

Good news is, if I pass art foundations, the rest of the years as they pass won't be as intense and my first year. I hope so, because design and visual studies are a bitch :P

In other news, not much is going on since I literally have no life other than doing homework ;_; my last week was consumed by an installation project I had to do with group members. One member never showed up to help, and the other had some other issues... I hate group work. Now I just have to write an analysis for it and make a research book. So, yeah, not much but work.

I make it up with watching movies on Netflix haha.

I hope summer comes by quickly. I hope I can continue to major in art. I hope I can find a job and make some money for income. I'd hate to waste time and do things that are in vain.

Only four more weeks
only 4 more weeks, and I'm done with my first year of college. I think I've been slightly procrastinating with my projects because of it lol, but I'm getting back on track and I hope that I'll be able to pass my art review. I also have an interview set up this weekend for a potential job... hopefully I'll get it! Anyone got any interview tips? It will be my first so I hope all goes well. I really can't wait for summer, hopefully the weather decides to stay nice. How are you all?

Oi!
Back up you guys!

Kind of glad that this place hasn't completely disappeared. It's a touch of nostalgia really. Interesting to see how outdated myO has become though. If they ever really do decide to delete it, well, I guess it means that good things must come to an end, eh?

I'd still miss y'all that use it.

Not sure if some of you follow TheOtaku, but they're moving it to a new server, in case anyone wanted to know. Not sure how this will affect myOtaku. Seems to change on me every time ^^;; I gotta learn this new shit to keep up.

Seriously. Don't text at the stop light. Don't text while driving and switching in two lanes. Don't talk on the phone and eat yogurt at the same time while driving. Or I will ram you and it will be all your fault if I die. Just don't use your cell while driving. I wish all drivers had this conscience.

ugh.
I'm gonna kill myself with this work. I have 6 compositions due, but they took taking like 50 compositional pictures, writing papers every day, and other mental gymnastics. Whoever down plays art as simple and easy going are seriously mistaken. I quite enjoy the work, don't get me wrong, I get to go to visiting artist lectures, watch/create compelling dissertations on and within the art world, and learn new things about creation, balance, medium, positive and meaningful marketing, compositional structure, and even a little mathematical structure of art. It is an enlightening world, but tiring. And I only have one paper for my writing class and just an exam for criminal justice, both so far my most relatively easy classes. Non art majors got it so good right now lol. I'm just hoping I'll pass with a C+ to move on with my program.. the arts here have a foundation program where we learn the basics of art, and there is a rigorous review at the end of the year in which the professors look at your work and decide whether you are well rounded enough to continue to major in art. It is more or less a filtering system, 1/3 people don't pass and 1/3 quit... I hope I'm not in that category lol. Even so, I'd still do art rather than business.

Other than that, not much going on. I had baked cookies for our afternoon class's documentary showing where we watch small series about artists and their work, and we just chill and eat snacks while taking notes for quizzes and papers we'll have to do later. So I'm just munching on leftover cookies right now lol not too bad ;)

I've also been having really weird, weird dreams, yet somehow I forget most of the content of what they were about. Even so, I still have that lingering eerie feeling when I think about them... I've had some good ideas for stories and drawings from them once before, maybe I should write them down so I can make something with them... hm. I do remember dreaming about a tengu though, lol weird I know. Tengu is a form of youkai. I've been reading a book about youkai and the role they play in modern Japanese art and manga. Youkai are ancient Japanese supernatural creatures, the word itself means both uncanny and eerie. They're the Western equivalent to fairies, demons, ghosts, etc. I have a paper that I'm doing on illustration and stuff for my writing class so I got the book for some research... pretty cool stuff.

other then that, probably won't update for a while, but that doesn't mean that I won't try to visit the site around here once in a while, even if my schedule is tight. :) have a good one.
