Chapter 3: The Three Walls (part 2)
This time, as she held the wand, the jewels started to glow, each in their own color. Sparks began to fly from the violet ones beneath her fingers. They burned scars into her hand as she watched, stunned. Fala wanted to let go but she couldn’t, as the small pains grew worse. Her anklet suddenly seared hot, burning her and forcing her to forget the small spark-burns. It seemed to tighten; the silver felt as though it was roasting the flesh between it into nothingness. The pain spread until her body felt emerged in fire.
Fala wanted to scream, but she only managed to do it with her mind and heart. She tried in vain to stretch her senses—make her roar of anguish heard to the world as her whole body burned. Then, suddenly, she felt although all her energy had been torn from her. Fala crippled to the ground unconscious, the wand held limply in her hand, and naked. The clothes had been burned away, and not even ashes remained.
Both Blues and Mr. Lustte had their hands clamped over their ears and their eyes pressed shut. As the terrible reverberation faded from the air, they opened their eyes and let their hands drop. Blues, shocked and embarrassed all at once, ran forward to Fala’s side. He pulled a blanket that was used to keep dust off the fire-wands from its stand and covered her exposed body. The blanket, spelled against destruction by heat to keep it from catching when the fire wands acted up, did not burn away like her clothes had. When his skin brushed hers, however, he pulled back quickly. Falamarana was so hot that Blues could see the air around her.
“What happened?” he asked Mr. Lustte, looking back at him where he stood, frozen by fear, surprise, and shame.
“I don’t understand,” the old man croaked, “I thought only the Ring Warden could work the wand.”
Blues did not respond, but he gestured at Fala’s ankle, where the heavy anklet pulsed with its raw energy. Mr. Lustte looked at him with questioning significance.
“Did you know?” he asked. After a pause, Blues nodded.
“Predicus told me.”
Mr. Lustte sighed in response. “I’d better go and get Fala some clothes. I also believe I will need to explain to a whole lot of people what the noise was.” Blues nodded, hoping silently that Mr. Lustte would leave. As the door swung shut, he reached over and put his hand on Fala’s shoulder.
At first, the pain was unbearable—Blues felt as if he had pushed his hand to a hot iron. He fought the urge to pull away, and gently shook her. At first, there was no response, but then Fala’s eyes flickered and opened, peering straight up into Blues’. He started in surprise, fighting the instinct to pull back when he saw how she had changed.
In her eyes, the places that were supposed to be black and turquoise, it had changed to a wild, incandescent blue.

   Helloooo
I'm back! I had my orchestra audition yesterday. It went okay. I bombed the sightreading, but at least I got the name of the key right...
I also had a hair cut yesterday. Or should I say, "hairs" cut? The hair dresser had a nightmare trying to thin it out. In any case, now I have short hair! It feels so different... so light... and short!
I still can't get over the fact that there's no FMA tomorrow. I need my FMA!!!!! and Inuyasha, and Ghost in the Shell, and... (etc. etc.) Why is Cartoon Network the only channel that plays anime?! What's up with that???!!!
Well, now I'll go visit people's sites. Sorry if I don't get to yours.
(Oh yeah, and don't forget to read Chapter 3 (below) if you haven't already, and comment pleeaazzeee!)

Chapter 3: The Three Walls (part 1)
-- I left out some explaining through here. You are probably more interested in the action. PM me if you want to know more--
The Three Walls were indeed walls. But the bricks were at least ten times bigger than normal. They looked most like a giant’s walls. Little stores were built right inside the red brick, so up close it resembled an alley.
“Let’s get you a wand first,” Blues said, heading to the shop nearest to them, marked with an old-fashioned sign. In the small window, there was a pillow with a sparkly wand that could have passed as jewelry.
“Good evening, Blues. Who do you have here?” said a very joyous voice from the corner of the shop as they entered. It did not take long for Fala to see that all the wands were sorted into sections. The water wands were mostly dark blue, but some were lighter in color. The fire wands ranged from a red that was almost pink, to a nearly brown color that closely resembled the earth-wands.
“Hello Mr. Lustte. This is Fala,” Blues announced, making his way further into the store. An elderly man strolled out from behind a shelf that had gray hair—probably black once.
“It’s actually Falamarana, but you can call me Fala. Nice to meet you,” Fala said politely, and shook Mr. Lustte’s hand.
“Your hands have the texture of ash, Fala. Fire may be the best choice for you.” He pulled a blood red wand from one of the many shelves. Unsure whether his statement had been a compliment or not, she took the wand and held it a few seconds. Mr. Lustte pulled it away. Anxiously, she considered that she didn’t have mage-blood at all.
“What’s in the wands?” she asked, attempting weakly to start a conversation. Mr. Lustte looked up at her, surprised.
“Why should there be anything inside them?” he commented, chuckling to himself. “The wood is the only part that would transmit magic, so as long as its grain is coherent enough, anything is fine.”
“Oh.”
One after another, Fala tried all the wands, starting with just one of every element, and then going to more individual ones. But none seemed to work. After a while, she was nearly positive that she was not a witch (or an apprentice, as Blues said). She wanted to blurt out that she wasn’t supposed to in this world at all, but something held her back.
“I don’t know,” said Mr. Lustte, scratching his head. Not one of the wands had worked for her. “This has never happened before.”
“Don’t you have others?” Blues asked nervously, watching the process patiently.
“I have one more, but I doubt that it will work. It hasn’t for anyone yet.”
“Just let me try it, please,” Fala said. Despite her doubts, she really wanted a wand. If Predicus said that she was a witch, then she had to try.
“Well... I suppose so,” Mr. Lustte said. He walked to the window, and lifted the wand off the pillow. As he carried it closer, Fala could really see the beauty of it.
It was all silver—polished smooth—but the handle had three violet-colored stones encrusted in it, and the rest of it was covered in tiny, multi-colored stones. A single thought crossed the redhead’s mind: it was like her anklet.

   Happy Mother's Day!
Yep, it's Mom's special day. I gave mine a pair of earings and my brother made her breakfast. She deserves a day off.
Last night's FMA was kind of odd. There were funny parts and sad parts. I guess that's one of the things that makes the series so great.
I might get a new computer today!!! I'm so exited!! My dad has this computer site where a lot of things are on sale for mother's day so it's today or never! I can't wait until I can watch my anime as often as I want, and scan in my fanart, and spend as much time on the net as I can... !!!! Yay!!

   Hey I'm back!
Yep, I survived All States. Phew. Man, I'm wasted. My shoulder is in serious pain from holding up that huge heavy viola and my fingers are rough from playing. But I survived.
It was a lot of work, but I guess it payed off at the end. The music was beyond cool-- for classical-- and the conducter was great, if a bit strange. One of the pieces had a bunch of tempo changes called Animato Assai and so my friends and I made a joke of it because we thought that it sounded like the name of a samurai guy. So whenever the conducter said "We're starting at the first Animato assai," we would crack a samurai grimace and exclaim "ANIMATOOO ASSSAAIII!!!!" My friend also wrote "Beware Animato Assai Man" on the black board with a little evil smiley face beside it. The conducter thought it was referring to him and he got really pissed, until we explained it to him. Hehehe.
Other than that, the first day was killer but the next two weren't too bad. I'm just glad to be home. With my anime. I've been anime-deprived these last few days.
Which brings me to the next subject: does anyone know where I can find anime music to download on my computer? (like the Trigun theme song or something?) I don't know if it'll work on my old machine, but I want to try.
Happy FMAing and Zatch Belling tonight!
