Like yo! Check it. The Crafty Momma is in the house! Actually, I'm not at all gangsta or into rap, I just wanted to sound cool.
I'm just your average run-of-the-mill single stay-at-home Momma. I have a lot of jobs: Momma, zookeeper (2 cats, a guinea pig, a hamster and 2 goldfish), gardener (tomatoes will be ready soon!), editor, freelance writer, web site designer, and superhero to the citizens of Paragon City.
My daughter still thinks I'm cool and wants to be associated with me (that should be changing any day now). She asked me to get an account here so here I am. Keep it clean and friendly and it will be all good. Feel free to add me as a friend.
Oh yea, my guestbook seems to be broken and keeps deleting posts from people. I'm sorry about that and will be looking for a solution in the next day or so!

Well, I was told I needed to post something or my life was in danger. Let's see ...
I apparently have a new surrogate son -- Nate. I only have him on weekends. For now. Once summer arrive I have a feeling he's just moving in. Not that I have a bedroom for him. I guess it is a good thing I don't have a boyfriend or anything.
I quit my job in mid-December. I'm still there waiting to train my replacement. At least they've hired someone and she starts on Monday. At least the lifestyles pages at the daily paper will be going to someone else soon. I've decided to keep doing the religion section for the connection to the paper and a bit of extra cash.
Nothing happening in the romance department. I told my best friend I have feelings for him but he only loves me as a friend. I suppose it could have gone way worse. Apparently there aren't many cow lovers in NH.
I guess that's about it for now. Happy my minion?

Well, that sucks
My best friend told me she can't talk to me for awhile, she needs to go away and heal and she can't do that if she's talking to me. I think it seriously sucks and I'm really, really not happy about it. I want her to be better, obviously, but I think cutting out your friends is not the way to do it. Unfortunately, she's made up her mind and there's no changing it.
A very sad Momma

First Day Nerves
Tomorrow is my first day at the new job. To say I'm a bit nervous would be an understatement. I have to be up and at the office at 9am! (are they mad?!) I hate getting up early and most of my days don't start before 10am. Guess whose going to start having to go to bed earlier? Bleah! I don't want to give up my 3-4am bedtime!
I've also been working on my book for teens. I'm at almost 10,000 words, or about 1/8th of the way to my target. (Summer math fun: how many words is my target?) It is about a girl who is bipolar and how it affects her life before she gets diagnosed, getting diagnosed and starting treatment. My daughter's reaction to the first chapter, which is a suicide attempt by the main character, was, "Well, isn't that depressing!" I'm hoping that it isn't too depressing and readers will be able to identify with the main character and what she's going through and see that there is hope, they just have to keep trying.
The first paragraph of the story: Anna glanced at the colorful cocktail of pills in her hand then looked out at the ocean from the warmth of her pea green 1979 Chevy Impala. The rain had subsided but the sky was still a steely grey and the dark surf was unruly and uninviting. The spring storm matched the way she felt—dark and all stirred up inside.
Does it make you want to read more?

Pics from Camp
http://camptakodah.org/content/blogcategory/29/59/
Raging Flame Sprite is on the right near the top (in the light colored clothes) with the rest of the girls from her cabin. I'm sure she'll be thrilled to know their picture was chosen for the blog post! LOL! Go check it out!
She hasn't been in any of the other pictures yet but I'm sure her face will show up again. =)

The Quiet
There are times when I hope that there will be a bit of silence in the house. Right now, though, it is just too quiet! Raging Flame Sprite is safe and sound at summer camp for two weeks. I can't wait until she gets home!

2 Rabbits Need New Home
Four-ish year old female rabbit. She has been spayed and is in good health. She's not super friendly but will let you hold her and pet her. In the year and a half I've had her she's only tried to nip me once.
Eight month old male rabbit. He is very friendly and loves to run around. He is in good health. He's not fixed. He has never tried to bite me.
They come with water bottles, food dishes, litter boxes (they are both litter box trained), food and shavings. You can have the cage as well but it is not a regular cage, but homemade without bottoms.
I am going back to work and do not have time to take care of them. They don't need to go to the same home as they do not get along so if they do go to the same home you would need two cages.
