Here's to the man of your dreams
They sit at a table, reminiscing about times, not good times, not bad times, just times. Their voices drift in and out of reality, as if none of them really know what's going on, like it might all be a dream.
"It was all so simple," she laughed, her eyes leaping to the one sitting at the head of the table.
"If it was all so simple why is it that you ended up lost?" He asked, choosing his words carefully, playing har agme as she silently instructed him to.
"You're both wrong," Said another man to the right of the first speaker,"Nothing is easy, and NOTHING is hard enough to get lost like she did."
"Obviously something was." a fourth speaker said, her soft voice almost singing, even though theywere mere words coming from her mouth.
"Tera, I promise, not only one thing did that. It was the culmination of many things." said the third speaker, his voice unsure at the perfect certainty in her voice.
The first speacker giggles, rolling her eyes flirtingly at the second speaker.
The second speaker, sitting at the haed of the table pretends not to notice, instead taking a sip out of a wine glass, and addressing the third speaker, "You're words sound weak, Cover. Do you know what you yourself actually thinks about it?"
Cover's eyes flashed momentarily with that old passion, the passion that had made him one of the Prince clan's finest. "You, Josh, have no room to speak. Hik barely has to bat her eyelashes at you and you're not sure which way is up."
The first speaker went into another giggle fit, and Josh blushed, "Er... You can't use that against me..."
Cover laughed, and turned back to Tera,"So anyway, what were we talking about before?"
"I believe it had something to do with Indie?" Tera replied, gracefully moving her eyes to focus on Josh.
"Yes, I believe that was the subject." Josh concurred, shifting nervously under Tera's gaze.
"I don't think she ever did anything good." Said Hik, Crossing her arms.
"You never liked her anyway..." muttered Cover.
"Een though in the end she messed up alot of stuff... I think I learned something from her. I think I got something good out of the relationship. You said it yourself, Hik."
"I said it to reassure you, not reinforcing my own opinion on the girl."
Tera and Cover felt slightly odd at this point in the conversation, as Hik's and Josh's problems were not theirs to solve, and they had come to reminisce, not to listen to more of these two's petty arguments.
"I think that Josh is right." Said Tera quickly, not giving Josh an oppurtunity to continue the conversation with Hik.
"Yes," said Cover, "But in what ways, exactly?"
"Well for one," Josh explained, "She's helped me see how to react to anyone who doesn't agree with my view on life. And also, she showed me how to face my fears as well as face her in arguments."
"You two never did get along very well..." Hik added quietly, refusing to give Josh any eye contact.
"Well anyway," said Josh," I think we at least owe her a toast."
"I'll drink to that." Said Cover, Tera nodding agreement and Hik grudgingly putting her hand on her wine glass.
"Well Indie. Here's to the man of your dreams."
