I'm baaa-aaaack!!
Technically I've been back and able to post since Monday, but what can I say.. I didn't really have the will-power.

See, I got back from New Wine on Saturday afternoon, to find a two page note from my housemate Nick, which can be summed up as "I think I messed your computer up. SORRYSORRYSORRYSORRY" When you bear in mind that I let Nick and Joe use my PCs for e-mail and internet, and that's what Nick was doing at the time, it's probably a little more understandable that I wasn't really that annoyed at him.

Anyway, my Dad's still at New Wine til next Sunday, and my standard way of getting something like this sorted would be to get him involved- so it looked as though I was going to have to wait a week and a bit, or even longer, before I'd be back online

But then on Monday, lo and behold my computer did the weirdest thing. Rather than continuing to say "Operating system not found" when I turned it on, it actually worked.
I kid you not, it just happened out of no-where. Once I was in windows I could do a disk-check, I found the problem on Norton Disk Doctor and then had it fix it. And now my PC works fine again.

So all that was a minor miracle in itself.

And now I need to be off to cluster meeting, so I'll update on the rest later.
