Sara: Sample of an actual Yorkshire accent :p
Nicco Testimony (from a while back)

Here's what Nicco is saying (written in Yorkshire English too, not translated into normal English :p):

And I got on (the) Tram in (the) morning, and I were reading (the) Metro and I just thought 'I feel rubbish' I feel this is.. you know.. this is awful! err, and I opened (the) newspaper and there was like an article about hundreds of iraqis had been made homeless cos of the bombing what's just happened recently.

And I said to God, I said 'look, I'm not testing you but I wanna lay a fleece down in front of you. If my calling is to work with homeless people, I pray that there'd be an article in the Metro about homelessness apart from like this one here.'

So I'm looking through it and God said to me as I'm about to turn the page, 'your article's going to be on (the) next page.' Yeah, yeah... Turned it over, Aye.. not there, knew it, God! And then something caught my attention in the "In Brief" bit, a little paragraph said 'can someone please'-- it were a letter saying 'can someone please explain to me the signs what I've seen in London saying erm.. no begging, penalty £200' and there was like a little picture of a homeless person begging.

And God said "is that good enough for you?".. I'm like.. "NO"

Notes:

1- "The Metro" is a free newspaper that can be found on Trams, buses and trains all about Sheffield.

2- The bits where you see a "the" in brackets, Nick didn't actually say "the", however there is some noise descirbe as a "swallowed T" which replaces it. It's hard to hear until you've been in Yorkshire for a while though.

3- Nick's "this feels awful" comment was in reference to his lack of a job at the time, and his general crap-feeling-ness, which he talked about a bit before he got to this snippet.
