Please read this ^^
Well, I just came back from the Wake and I'm wiped. I don't have too much to say, except that I did cry a lot, but I'm ok now. Well, I would like you guys to read my grandpa's obituary. You don't have to, I'll post it anyway tho. And fyi, Javier Is supposed to spelled Xavier. Stupid newspaper doesn't know how to spell. Well Here it is:
Garcia
Carmen G. Garcia, age 76, of Mesilla Park entered eternal life, Monday, July 11, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born October 19, 1928 in Valle de Olivos Chihuahua, Mexico to Jesus Jose and Asuncion Garcia. Mr. Garcia was a farm laborer and was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Fidencia Sanchez Garcia of the family home; four sons, Gabriel Garcia and wife, Guadalupe of Mesilla Park, Raul Garcia and wife, Neide of El Paso, Texas Robert Garcia and wife, Yolanda and Xavier Garcia and wife, Martha all of Las Cruces; one daughter, Maria Salais and husband, Alfonso of Alamogordo; four brothers, Baldomero Garcia Sr. of Mesilla Park, Ponciano and Antonio Garcia, both of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and Lucio Garcia of Doña Ana; two sisters, Belem and Bertha Garcia both also of Ciudad Juarez. Other survivors include fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, as well a numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Carmen Garcia, Jr.
Visitation for Mr. Garcia will begin at 6PM Wednesday, July 13, 2005 in Baca’s Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2005 in St. Genevieve’s Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina St. with the Reverend Juan Moreno, Celebrant. Cremation will follow and inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.
Serving as casket bearers will be Gabriel, Robert, Raul and Javier Garcia, Alfonso Jr. and Frankie Salais. Honorary bearers will be Javier and Alfonso Salais Sr. and Lionel Garcia.
Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapels and Baca’s Mimbres Crematory, Las Cruces. 527-2222
