A Poem By Erica








The Nightmare

The rain drips from the sky
Mixing with my tears
I quicken my pace and run,
Running from my fears

A wave of darkness blinds my way
I know not where I run
I see those piercing eyes
The nightmare has begun

I run the hidden path
I dodge her every blow\She's just having fun with me
For her it's just a show

A rush of windbeside me
A scratch across my face
A knife had pierced the ground
And my heart began to race

I know I am in danger
I feel her coming near
Now every bit of common sense
Was turning into fear

I bolted forward aimlessly
I want to end this chace
I want to scream in terror
Because now we're face to face

And now I know what's coming
She's pulling out her knife
And now I can't escape
She's going o take my life

With one quick jab it ended
Silence filled the air
Just when I thought that I had passed
So ended my nightmare

I jumped up in my bed
My eyes wandered free
But I just can't shake the feeling
That she's still watching me
