Ash Wednesday already? sheesh.
Yup, cuz easter is so freakin early this year, Shrove Tuesday was yesterday, which makes today Ash Wednesday, the start of LENT. It also has the annoying side effect of making this year seem even faster than last year, but hopefully that will be resolved soon. I don’t think I can stand another whirlwind “blink-and-you-missed-it” year…

Anyhoo, Lent starts today, which traditionally means we, the strange people that we are, have to give something up for 40 days. Normally people choose something like chocolate or TV or something absurd. I cant do without neither, nor can I give up the internet. So for lent this year I am going to give up clouds. I feel as if I could do with less clouds in my diet, so I am giving up clouds. No more clouds for me till easter is over. Yup.

Yesterday was shrove Tuesday, which in England makes it pancake day. whilst pancakes on pancake day is a dying tradition, it is one my family stick to regimentally every year, and it is rather fun flipping pancakes and eating em with lemon juice and sugar. Our pancakes tend to be a little different than what Americans think of as pancakes. Ours are lighter, with less substance to em…more like a crepe then the fluffy pancakes of an American breakfast.

i found a grey hair this morning. it was quite long, which is how i noticed it, but was definitely attached quite solidly to my head. heh, i must be going grey from all the stress... LOL J/K, J/K. XD
to be honest, i don't mind if i go grey prematurely. why? cuz if i wake up one day to a head full of grey hair, all i have to do is let it grow out, buy a pair of red contact lenses and VOILA: instant Kaworu Nagisa cosplay. XD or, for raina's sake, keep it short and buy a pair of glasses. bam. instant Shuji. lol

As for the rest of my life, nothing is happening other than the usual. Tis quite boring actually. Ah well.

From the depths of my archives…

NOT QUITE SO NEW DARKE BAND-AIDS!

We took three normal people off the street and inflicted identical fatal wounds on them.
*stab* "ARRGH!"
*stab* "ARRGH!"
*stab* "ARRGH!"

We left the first person untreated.
We treated the second person with an ordinary band-aid.
We treated the third with a revolutionary new Darke Band Aid.

We left them for a week.

The first person died. *thump*
His family are suing us.

The second person survived at the cost of his right arm.
*NNNNARGH!!*
He is suing us.

The third person had no ill effects what-so-ever, apart from a limp, but that will clear up in a day or two. With the success of Darke Band Aids we were able to pay off the legal fees of the other two cases.

Darke Band Aids. The Bestest. ^^

pay monies for one I’d guess…

Tablets are fun, but I need to practise tonnes…

Till next time!

And now for something completely different….
Its been a boring week…I went to see Sweeny Todd the other day with my brother… it was…gory. Very very gory. I did enjoy it, but I think I might be having some very scary dreams in the next few days. ^^; but hey, if you love gore (and I mean LOVE) go see it. if you love musical drama, go see it. if you love Johnny Depp or Helena Bohem Carter, (and I know a lot of you ladies love the Depp) go see it.

Heck, just go see it.

So bored…its been quiet and dull here.

oh? Whats this folks?

Oh hey midori. Sure, come on in.

isn’t she cute folks?

What’re you doing here anyhoo?

dammit, its like learning how to draw all over again.

Gee, thanks. What you been up to recently?

Midori is my Laptop, in case you were wondering

I know…I run you ragged. ^^;; I apologise. I did manage to finish my first round of the OC Mecha tournament I'm in. I had to scan and edit 15 pages…its quite a lot. Link up top to my deviantart page if you wanna see it.

I’ve also been watching a lot of dvds and videos on you as well, cuz my dvd player is on the blink. ^^;;;

But, to be fair, I am at work most of the day. its not like you get no time off at all…

to be even fairer, she does work harder than me

Heh. These moments of self realisation are very becoming of you.

sheesh. Don’t answer that question Darke!

I think you’d need an epiphany of biblical proportions for that to happen.

you FAIL darke. You fail.

Heh, sorry. ^^;

Well, I'm gonna wrap this up here. Will you be back next week?

I plan to get better at this…

Hey, that’s my line…

PS: I'm weird. I freely admit it.

We are just going our own way~
Hey guys. Thanks for answering those questions…it was…insightful. lol

Just for a laugh, I'm gonna answer them too. XD

1. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it.

Darke Angel. It’s a long complicated story involving a message board, a Gundam and another internets user.

2. Am I lovable?

Questionable…

3. How long have you known me?

All my life

4. What was your first impression?

Oh dear…

5. Do you still think that way about me now?

Pretty much.

6. What do you think my weakness is?

Ah hah! That would be telling now.

7. Do you think I'll get married? If so, to whom and when?

Possibly, someday, somewhere to someone. ;p

Anime and Manga, bright sunny days, spending time with friends, Luna, Midori, Laura, the list goes on…

9. What makes me sad?

The loss of the above.

10. What reminds you of me?

The mirror.

11. If you could give me anything what would it be?

A Gundam. XD lots of money. Anything.

Tangy

16. Do you think our friendship is getting stronger/weaker/or staying the same?

Its about the same…maybe a bit stronger…

17. Do you feel that you could talk to me about anything and I would listen?

Seeing as I talk to myself all the time….

Heh heh. ^^;

Seriously folks, nothing has happened all week, so I'm gonna treat you to a photoblog instead. As I said on Sunday, I had to go to a different train station to go to work, and I took my camera with me. Here are the results (remember, alt text gives you a bit more insight to my shenanigans. Hover the cursor over the image)

reminds me of an anime, though I don’t know which one

This is Hither Green Station. I normally get on at New Eltham, and even when I pass through Hither Green, I pass through on Platforms 5 and 6, which are the other side of the works yard, which is in the BG. This was the first time I had been to Platform 1, and I quite liked it, as it just so happened. It pleased me aesthetically.

After Hither Green, the train passes Lewisham, St. Johns and then New Cross Stations, before getting into London proper. The pic below is one of my favourite views from the train.

the big building with the pointy top has been there since before I was born, but the other buildings have only been built in the past 10 years or so

Canary Wharf. You can’t see it from here, but its actually surrounded on three sides by the River Thames.

As you approach the heart of London you see more sky scrapers…

there’s another cool building near there that looks like the back end of a boat.

We call that big glass one the Gherkin, cuz it looks like a giant pickled gherkin. Apparently.

Now we approach London proper, and see all kinds of stuff.

a bit nippy for an outdoor climb

An outdoor climbing wall.

I timed the shot wrong

St. Paul’s Cathedral, the dome bit.

used to be called the Natwest building, and it’s shaped like the Natwest logo. Natwest is a bank by the way

I think the grey/black tower is the tallest building in London (next to the pointy one at canary wharf that is)

my favouritest building ever

I don’t know what that building is called, but I still wanna live there.

stoopid flash

Another church/cathedral of some kind. It’s pretty impressive.

you have to walk under the road to get to the entrance.

The London IMAX Cinema. It’s pretty big!

I’ve been on it three or four times. It’s been a while though.

The London Eye. You can see the train is approaching the river; the final station is literally built on the bank on the opposite side.

normally this road is uber busy, but this was taken at like 10 am on a Sunday

After we get out of the station we walk onto the Strand, which is this big road. Its pretty quiet at this time on a Sunday morning, even the local hobo’s have buggered off to find breakfast. I decide to go get a cup of hot chocolate.

I wonder who lives there…must be stinkin rich

I saw this on my way to the Costa Coffee shop, and thought it was cool, so I took a picture. A Conservatory on the roof!

I stopped for half an hour in the coffee shop and had a big hot chocolate (with cream) and a blueberry muffin. It’s a rather relaxed refined way to start the day, but I do so enjoy it.

Then I headed into Covent Garden, where my shop is located.

again, quiet, cuz its Sunday. This is my favourite place in all of London. Well, one of them.

Covent Garden is essentially a huge square with a market in the middle. There’s some neat little shops there, and usually it’s the best place to do people watching.
I have to walk past those buildings and walk down a small street to get to my store.

that’s where I have to go work every day

Cotswolds Outdoor Store Covent Garden at your service…though we don’t open till 11 on a Sunday.

we have touch screen checkouts…it’s a lot of fun. Sometimes.

The till section, just inside the front door.

this is only a small fraction of the ground floor, its actually HUGE in reality.

Part of the ground floor. And if you go down into the basement…

I either work upstairs or downstairs. That is to say, I don’t do both floors in a single shift. One day I’ll be upstairs, the next day I’ll be downstairs…

More stuff!!!

By this time it’s like 10:40 and the store opens in 20 minutes, so I have time to go pee and attend the “one minute” meeting to check whats happening that day before we open and work begins proper.

And before I start work, I remember to offer up the Retail Worker’s Prayer:

Dear...(fill in name of your deity here)

Grant me the serenity to accept the
things i cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept
and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the jerks I had to kill today because they pissed me off.

Help me to be careful of the toes I tread on today because they may be connected to the ass I have to kiss tomorrow.

Help me to give 100% at work...
12% on Monday,
23% on Tuesday
40% on wednesday
20% on Thursday and
5% on Friday

And finally, help me to remember that when I’m having a bad day, and people are really trying to piss me off,
that it takes 42 muscles to frown, but only four to extend my middle finger and tell them to bite me.

AMEN!

Heh heh…. Working in retail makes you lose faith in humanity. ^^;;;

Well, I hope you enjoyed that. to find out what it’s like for me to go home, view the photos in reverse order and imagine its dark and there are lots and lots of people around.

Till next time!!!!

Life goes on and on...by nightfall it had reached chinatown...
Heya folks. The last part of this week has been…interesting…sorta. ;p

Been busy between work and doing this OC Tournament on D.A, but have also found time to do other stuff as well.

Friday evening I went to this place in London called “The Castle”. I don’t know what it used to be, some kind of factory maybe, but its now an Indoor Climbing Centre. There are tonnes of rock walls and stuff for climbers to come and use. I met up there with some of my friends from work and we did some bouldering, which is like rock climbing without a rope and harness. The bouldering walls are only like 10 foot high, and beneath em the floor is like a giant crash mat, so there’s no danger, even for novices like me. It was a lot of fun, though my arms are a little sore now. ^^;

Yesterday I had the day off, which I spent most of fixing up my car. At some point since it’s last service, the metal bar which holds the car battery in place has corroded and crumbled away, so there was effectively nothing holding the battery in place. My dad and I cleaned up the battery and fashioned a new holding bar out of some spare metal. It took a bit longer then I thought, and we had to go and get some new screws for it cuz the old ones were so rusted that they snapped when we tried to take the holding bolts off. ^^; but its all sorted now.

Today I have to leave the house early and drive to Hither Green Train station, which is about 4 stops down the line from the train station I normally get on. This is because New Eltham, the station I normally go to, is having planned engineering works, as is the rest of the Sidcup line, which New Eltham is a part of. The nearest station which caters to more then one train line is Hither Green, so that’s where I gotta go. Shouldn’t be too much hassle though, being Sunday and all…

Went shopping this week as Orbital Manga were having a sale. I bought the rest of the RahXephon novels (2-5) and I also bought some Revoltech figures of Mazinkaiser and GaiKing. Yup, more robots. XD

Recently been watching an anime called “Shugo Chara” and another called “Gaiking: The Legend of Daiku Mayru”. The latter is your typical super-robot show, but I like it. XD
The former, “Shugo Chara” is a weird anime, but strangely appealing. Its all about how kids have an “egg” inside them which contains their “would-be selves” and in certain circumstances this egg hatches and out pops a “Guardian Chara” which is a Chibi personification of the kids “would-be self”. The main character is a “cool” girl who just wishes to be accepted and be a more normal kid. Somehow she manages to produce not one, but Three Guardian Charas, and she is charged with the task of finding the “Embryo” or a magic egg that can grant any wish.

Yeah, so that’s basically it. its kinda “magical girl” ish type anime, but its funny, and as you all may well know, I have an affinity for any kind of story that involves Chibi companions… ^^;

And now, Answers to Questions:

RAINA : “who would you swap with?”

If I were to swap places with anybody for one day, I’d swap with…hmm…I dunno. There’s no one I’d really wanna swap with. Though if I were to take a leaf out of Red’s scrapbook and choose a fictional character, I’d have to go ahead and say any Gundam pilot. lol ^^;

HASEO LUVR92: “have you ever read a shoujo manga? A really girly one?”

Uhm…not to my knowledge…even manga like Chobits and Midori no Hibi were written for boys. I'm gonna have to go ahead and say that No, I haven’t. ^^

RED TIGRESS: “what’s one guilty pleasure of yours?”

Guilty Pleasure? Geez… uhm… again, don’t really have one. Most of my pleasures aren’t really guilty ones. i mean, from time to time I buy some anime merchandise, or a Gundam Model that I could probably do without, or cant really afford, but I don’t really feel guilty about it. ^^;;;; I have no shame. lol

Alrighty, good stuffs. Feel free to ask more questions, anything and everything folks.

A few things to leave off with. I found this little gem whilst perusing through my archives and figured its been a while, so I'm allowed to do it again. Don’t feel pressured to answer this, its just a suggestion. Take it or leave it…

1. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it.

2. Am I lovable?

3. How long have you known me?

4. What was your first impression?

5. Do you still think that way about me now?

6. What do you think my weakness is?

7. Do you think I'll get married? If so, to whom and when?

8. What makes me happy?

9. What makes me sad?

10. What reminds you of me?

11. If you could give me anything what would it be?

12. How well do you know me?

13. Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn't?

14. Do you think I could kill someone?

15. Describe me in one word.

16. Do you think our friendship is getting stronger/weaker/or staying the same?

17. Do you feel that you could talk to me about anything and I would listen?

Same with these videos, don’t have to watch em. I'm just on a Super Robot kick is all… XD

Have a great week folks!!

Ha Ha...Whoops!
Yeah, so the reason I didn’t update yesterday was I kinda overslept. I woke up at about 9:50 AM and my first thought was “I should be on a train right now”. I literally got dressed and walked straight out the door to the station, caught the next train to London and made it to work with literally minutes to spare. So it IS possible to make it to work (roughly about 13 miles from where I live) within an hour of waking up, but I wouldn’t recommend it, especially with London’s train network…

Actually I sat down the other day and worked out it would be cheaper for me to ride to work (on Luna, my motor scooter) everyday rather than get the train. I might try it someday, see how it goes. Traffic in London is usually horrendous, but with my l337 ninja riding skills, it shouldn’t be too much of a bother.

My mum came home yesterday from the hospital. She’s still in a bit of pain, but she just needs rest now. And my Uncle is doing better too…in fact he was staying the night earlier this week. in my room. This meant I had to sleep in my brother’s room. That’s the second time this month I have had to sleep in my brother’s room. Perhaps I should move in permanently. Lol
But thanks for the thoughts and concerns guys. I appreciate it.

Went out this week and bought the final two volumes of A.I Love You. I’ll probably review it later this week, if I remember. The store I bought em from was doing Three for the Price of Two on Manga, so I perused the shelves looking for something I wanted, but there wasn’t a great selection. I ended up buying RahXephon vol 1 in novel format. It’s strange, RahXephon never really interested me as an anime, but the novel was pretty good. The editing was crap, there were typos and misspelled words everywhere, but the actual story was pretty good. I might check out the anime now.

Work is as boring as usual. Yadda yadda yadda.

Jeez, when did I get so boring? I used to make these posts fun. Now they’re just bleah.

Alrighty then, QUESTION TIME (yup, he’s desperate folks!)

Q: if you could swap places with any one person for the day, no consequences, who would you swap with and why?

ALSO, I want you guys to ask me ONE question. Could be ANYTHING. ANYTHING at all, and I will endeavour to answer it. keep em clean folks, this is a family show.

Well, till next we meet!

“I worry about ridiculous things, you know, how does a guy who drives a snowplough get to work in the morning. . . . That can keep me awake for days..”

“Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I'm a schizophrenic,
and so am I.”

- Billy Connolly (both quotes)

ARGH!!
Really gonna try to post more regularly. >.<

Been a bit of a hectic week. I’ve been working mostly, but other things have been going on.

My uncle almost burnt his house down earlier in the week. he’s ok, but he had to be admitted to hospital for smoke inhalation. And today my mum had to go into hospital cuz she has stomach pains. We don’t know what it is yet, still waiting on the surgical consult.

So yeah. Hectic.

I also got randomly attacked by a dog today. I was walking home from the train station and I passed by this dude walking a pair of dogs. The one nearest me, a big Alsatian, apparently didn’t like the look of me cuz he took a swipe at my leg. Fortunately I dodged in time and he didn’t get his teeth into me, but it wasn’t till I had got home till I realised he had torn a great big gash in my jeans. *shrugs* oh well. Guess I’ll have to dig out my sewing kit.

Been watching and reading a lot of anime and manga this week. I bought a few volumes of AI Love You for really cheap the other day and so have been reading them, as well as a few Appleseed volumes. I watched Nausicaa of the valley of the wind” yesterday and quite enjoyed it. I want a lil aero-glider like the one Nausicaa flies around on. ^^
I also watched Karas: The Prophesy yesterday. It was really good, although a little confusing. The most confusing aspect of Kara is that its split into two parts, Prophesy and Revelation, but even worse is that it isn’t two movies, it’s a 6 part OVA, but its set out like a movie. So its really hard to follow the flow of the story. The special effects are stunning though.

I also got round to watching the first two episodes of Persona: Trinity Soul. Its ok, but I don’t really like the art style, and it’s almost NOTHING like the game Persona 3, on which it’s based. Its set ten years after the events of the PS2 game, and people can still use Personas to battle, but that’s about the only similarities. It’s a shame, cuz I really enjoyed the game, but the anime has a totally different feel to it. I think it’s lost the aspect which made the game so popular.

Art wise I’ve entered an OC tournament on DeviantArt. For those of you who don’t know, an OC tournament is a comic battle where you draw a comic of your own original character fighting somebody else’s original character, and who ever draws the best comic proceeds to the next round of the tournament. This particular tournament is a Mecha Tournament, so I’ve entered a giant robot of my own design in to fight. The first round match ups were announced this morning. I'm up against a bi-sexual robot. Yup. It’s actually two different robots crammed together. ^^; its gonna be a fun opponent.
This is going to be a great opportunity, and lots of fun. Hopefully my art will benefit from being part of this tournament.

Well, that’s it from me today. I’ll leave you with a random photo from London:

I dunno how this thing works, whether you have to pay or not, but it’s a good system. If only the ele-cars weren’t so sucky.

This is just outside my shop in Covent Garden. It’s a parking space reserved for anyone with an electric car, and comes complete with power pole with which to plug your car in. there aren’t many of these around, and even the one outside our shop rarely has anyone parked there. I think it’s pretty cool!

Till next time!!!

This is the Story of some Angels

The Beginning:

They started, in the way of all creations, with a small spark of an idea.

They were nurtured and cherished. They grew and prospered. They went far beyond the creator’s dreams and expectations.

Three Years passed.

The Ending:

The end began with a drink and a conversation.

It then continued with this rather strange comic, drawn by a friend, a mentor and a bit of a nut job.

my bedroom isn’t that bare IRL
being vertical can be a bit chilly sometimes…

And as much as I hated to admit it, he (and my muse, apparently) was right.

soundtrack: Goodbye by the Corrs

And so I close the book on Chibi Darke Days. This isn’t a decision I’ve come to lightly, but it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while now.

It’s not out of lack of ideas. It’s not out of boredom. It’s certainly not because a lack of love for the characters. Love is something I have in spades when it comes the Chibi Angel Gang.

It’s just time to move on.

Farewell Chibi Darke, Chibi Rose, Chibi Laura and Chibi Luna. I'm gonna miss you all. I’ve learned a lot by doing these comics and if just one person has drawn an iota of pleasure, enjoyment, humour or even a small smile from each comic I’ve done, then my work has been worthwhile. I hope you all will never been forgotten.

To any of you who have been with Chibi Darke Days since the beginning, I thank you for your continued support.

Farewell.

Oh yeah! What about Faye, Rachel and Jen?!

Jen can afford her own lawyer. The CDD payroll was quite extravagant.

Heh, with the end of CDD, Faye, Rachel and Jen have been made redundant. ^^;
tis a shame really, but considering they were created for a single story in my ORIGINAL fiction series (way way way before CDD) and then went on to star in their own Side Story that never went anywhere, they've had a good run. Im sure y'all see em again. ^^ in fact, they've already been signed up for the next project, though they won’t be as prominent as they have been in CDD.

i guess this makes Faye, Rachel and Jen my longest lasting characters. not bad for a bunch of one-off's huh? ^^

it’s gonna be a while till my next project gets off the ground. But I hope it will be as well received as the Chibi Darkester was. ^^

till next time!

Getting old.... ;p
Yawn. So tired… anyway…

Heh, quite possible this might turn out to be a long post, so bare with me folks…

So Sunday was my birthday. And what a day it was! Lol

It really started on the Saturday, when one Tony Weaver turned up at my place of work. We had a drink and then headed back to my place. Slept for a few hours then got up on Sunday at 5:30 AM, got into Clarissa, my 20 year old Nissan Micra automobile, and set off. Our destination: HEATHROW AIRPORT!

After about an hour, and many comedic songs, on the road, we arrived at the airport and promptly picked up one Amber Fluekiger, a long time friend of mine who hails from the state of Tennessee, and returned home.

So yah, basically Amber is staying in England for a week with Tony, but they were kind enough to hang with me on my birthday. We went bowling and we went to the park across the road from me. And we did a lot of driving. Poor Clarissa is quite worn out! i did go a little crazy in her though… there was one point on the way home from the airport where we were driving over 100 mph! Let me just explain this briefly: my car is almost the same age I am. She has the aero-dynamic properties of a brick and a small engine. She’s manual gear box with 4 forward gears and one reverse. Her Speedometer dial only goes up to 100 mph…and the needle was going beyond that! admittedly we were going down hill at the time, but I still think that’s pretty impressive for an old rust bucket. ^^ AND on the infamous M25 ring-road, which is notorious for being congested often. Heh, we even got into a road battle with one guy who just couldn’t seem to be able to face being overtaken by a crappy old car, and thusly illegally undertook us and thus started a small overtake/undertake battle. Oh, and we did some Drifting too. Y’know. For fun. (accident actually, but I handled it well I thought…)

The bowling was fun. We got to the alley just after it opened, so we practically had the place to ourselves. And we were all pretty bad bowlers. So I was happy to actually win both games. XD

Here’s us bowling…

heh heh, caught amber by surprise, though it turned out to be a pretty good photo

the man with pink balls…What?!

In the afternoon I took them to the station so they could catch a train to London, and then another train to the hotel they were due to stay in for the night, and then today they were supposed to be heading back to Tony’s place for the week.

In the evening my family took me out for dinner at Sidcup Place, a restaurant we frequent. I had chicken with bacon and cheese for main and profiteroles for dessert. And a budwiser beer to go with. XD

I was really tired on my birthday though, mainly cuz I had been up since 5:30 AM and had done a boat-load of driving. I fell asleep just before we left for dinner. ^^;

As for pressies, I got a whole bunch of interesting stuff that surprised me. The thing was, I didn’t know what I wanted for my birthday, so people had to think up of something original.
Here’s my swag list:

A silver Hip-Flask from my brothers, as well as a John Barrowman CD and a small book called Peanuts (as in Snoopy and Charlie Brown) guide to life Part 2 (cuz they couldn’t find part one!)

From my aunt I got a space pen, i.e a pen that can work upside down, underwater, in space, in extreme heat and cold, and has several other functions too.

And from my parents I got a really uber posh Gentleman’s Shaving Kit and Leather Wash Bag. Which was really nice. It’s so nice, I don’t wanna use it! I wanna keep it in pristine condition!!

Oh, and my parents got me one other thing too:

oh yes TimeChaser. You can be jealous now.

A remote controlled Dalek from the sci-fi show Doctor Who! This thing amuses me no end. XD

So yeah, my birthday was pretty sweet all in all. Thank you to all who wished me a happy birthday, and to those of you who didn’t, ah well, I probably forgot yours too.

Stay tuned for the next post coming from me. I have been a pondering and a thinking and a contemplating for a while now, and I have a bit more to do before I make any final decisions. But the next post may come with a big choice that will affect me and my art this year. stay tuned!

I’ll finish off this post with pictures of my new MG Zaku IIS ver.2 I put together on New Years Day.

the obligatory *realism* shot

The ver.2 Zaku kit has about a hundred-plus more parts to it than the original Zaku kit did, and thusly is slightly heavier, and infinitely more poseable than my original version Zaku. In fact, I’d even go as far to say that it’s the most poseable MG kit I own…in fact, the most poseable model kit I own…

I present my own version of Auguste Rodin’s The Thinker. Wikipedia it if you have no idea what I'm talking about.

Zaku in deep thought.

LOVE! AND PEACE!

Zaku chilling making the V sign! VICTOLY!

THAT’S ENOUGH! PLEASE!

No more pictures, PLEASE!

Heh heh, I am a nerd. ;p

Well, I hope you all have having a great start to the new year. my condolences to Ikuu-Nyuu-Kon who has to move AGAIN so soon after moving in, but I'm glad you have found a new place to live already. And best new years wishes to you all.

wait.....WHAT?!
This was my favourite photo from this year.

Ok, ok, ok, SERIOUSLY… WHERE THE FLIPPIN HECK HAS 2007 GONE?

Jeez. Its like I went to bed in January, got up for the summer, went back to bed in October and woke up to find it was Christmas. Jeez. This year has gone by so friggin fast, I blinked and missed two thirds of it.

Anyways, it’s the last day of the year, and so it is time for me to reflect on another year gone by (the parts which I remember anyways…)

Oh, btw, I know I said I’d post on Boxing Day (the day after Christmas) but apparently I lied. I do that.

2007 has been a good year for me all in all. Its been a good year for travel (though not quite as good as 2006 was), its been a good year for comics and art, its been a good year for anime and manga, and its been a FANTASTIC year for Gundam. XD but I digress…

Highlight of the year has to be the summer I spent in America (for the third year running) at Camp Pecometh (for the first time evah!) and then travelling on afterwards. I had such a great time, made some excellent friends and it really made my year. I enjoyed it so much I hope to return in 2008! I also had a great time visiting my friends across the states. Once Again, a huge thank you to Cee-Kari and the TN gang for putting me up (and putting up with me!) at such short notice. You guys are the best.

This year also see me quit my crappy hospital catering job and start a new job at Cotswolds Outdoor Store in Covent Garden! I also started Kung-Fu this year too, and am looking forward to continuing it.

Chibi Darke Days did pretty well this year, particularly with the Super Size Swap Saga! And I also made my first manga this year, my Gundam SCROLL manga, which came second place in a competition! Which pleased me greatly. ^^

Art/story wise has been pretty good, I started a new project this year called VIRTUE, which admittedly is still in the planning stages, but I'm getting somewhere with it. I dunno how far I'm gonna take it, but I'm just letting things run its course for now.

Anime and Manga did fairly well this year. New Anime I saw this year (and some that aren’t new, but I finally got round to watching)

Black Lagoon
Tenchi Muyo Ryo Ohki
GITS Solid State Society
Zeta Gundam
Gundam X
Turn A Gundam
Gundam 00 (I told you it was a good year for Gundam!)
Patlabor
Outlaw Star
Macross Dynamite 7

And new manga series for this year included:

Translucent
Junk
All new Tenchi Muyo
GITS Human Error Processor
Kimi no Kakera

So not bad all in all.

Oh! And I got a pretty decent haul in for Christmas too! Here’s my swag list:

Wacom Graphics Tablet!
Master Grade 1/100 scale Zaku IIS ver 2
Pirates of the Carribean 3 DVD
Transformers Movie (the live action one) DVD

And a plethora of smaller things, including a mini boomerang kit. Go figure.

And its my birthday in under a weeks time. I will be 21 (TWENTY-ONE!) years old on the 6th January. Heh heh, I wont say I'm getting old though, cuz I know a bunch of my friends here on MyO are older than me. XD

Of course, there’s been some bad things this year too. The most prominent of these being my Granddad’s death. But life (ironically) goes on. The other major suckage of 2007 is the closing down of the swimming pool where I used to go to snorkelling club. However, there is nothing I can do about it, and I will endeavour to make the most out of the new pool (when I'm not working till 8pm on a Friday that is). Oh, and who could forget the Server Crash this year, where we went for almost an ENTIRE WEEK without MyOtaku and TheOtaku. I pray that never happens again, Indeed I am very much looking forward to Version Vibrant!!!

I’ve done a few things this year that were extremely foolish and idiotic, but hopefully that’s all water under the bridge and I will endeavour not to make the same mistakes again.

There have been other ups and downs, new friends and companions made and old ones lost or at the very least, unfrequented.
my thanks and salutations to:

Chobit Chi
Clair Chanteur
Dark Phoenix
Grifter99

Master Hiko
Mew Wem
Otemba
Princess Ookumae
Red Tigress

Shireishou
TimeChaser
Travelling Disciple
Watasefan
Weaver
Xanth Reborn
and
Yensid

For spending even a fraction of the year with me and making my fourth-going-on-fifth year of blogging here worthwhile. You guys are awesome! In the most literal sense of the word!

Extra Special Shout Outs to
Cee-Kari,
Mitzy,
Flueky,
Ryuu-Kiba
And my dear Onee-sama: Sailor Firestar

I know for one reason or another you all haven’t been on MyO much, if at all, this past year, but yet again for another year you have made a significant impact in my life and I value you all as dear friends. Thank You for all you have given me.

and a shout out to Raina. for insanely long MSN conversations. For both our Lunas. And for always being there when I needed a friend.

And so, with a raise of my glass in toast, I bid farewell to 2007 and give it my thanks. For a fast and sudden as it was, it was, in the words of Frank Sinatra, A Very Good Year.

I leave you with this photo I took the other day. I had arrived in London early before my shift was due to start, so I wandered around Covent Garden. Very often you’ll find street performers in Covent Garden and this one guy was standing there in the cold clear day just strumming away and singing his songs. Not cover songs you understand, his own stuff. And, as he so wryly commented, that was probably why no one was applauding him. It was good music, and so I gave him a quid. (one English pound, equal to 2 US Dollars) and I took a picture. He seemed to be the sort of guy who wasn’t out there to make money, but just to share his music with the world. I respect that.

PARADE! OH~YEAH! WE ARE JUST GOING OUR OWN WAY!

Happy New Year Everybody. Let 2008 be the year all your dreams and aspirations come true.

LOOK UP! THE SKY IS WHERE OUR DREAMS ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
