Hey guys. Thanks for answering those questions…it was…insightful. lol

Just for a laugh, I'm gonna answer them too. XD

All my life

5. Do you still think that way about me now?

Pretty much.

Ah hah! That would be telling now.

7. Do you think I'll get married? If so, to whom and when?

Possibly, someday, somewhere to someone. ;p

17. Do you feel that you could talk to me about anything and I would listen?

Seeing as I talk to myself all the time….

Heh heh. ^^;

Seriously folks, nothing has happened all week, so I'm gonna treat you to a photoblog instead. As I said on Sunday, I had to go to a different train station to go to work, and I took my camera with me. Here are the results (remember, alt text gives you a bit more insight to my shenanigans. Hover the cursor over the image)

reminds me of an anime, though I don’t know which one

This is Hither Green Station. I normally get on at New Eltham, and even when I pass through Hither Green, I pass through on Platforms 5 and 6, which are the other side of the works yard, which is in the BG. This was the first time I had been to Platform 1, and I quite liked it, as it just so happened. It pleased me aesthetically.

After Hither Green, the train passes Lewisham, St. Johns and then New Cross Stations, before getting into London proper. The pic below is one of my favourite views from the train.

the big building with the pointy top has been there since before I was born, but the other buildings have only been built in the past 10 years or so

Canary Wharf. You can’t see it from here, but its actually surrounded on three sides by the River Thames.

As you approach the heart of London you see more sky scrapers…

there’s another cool building near there that looks like the back end of a boat.

We call that big glass one the Gherkin, cuz it looks like a giant pickled gherkin. Apparently.

Now we approach London proper, and see all kinds of stuff.

a bit nippy for an outdoor climb

An outdoor climbing wall.

I timed the shot wrong

St. Paul’s Cathedral, the dome bit.

used to be called the Natwest building, and it’s shaped like the Natwest logo. Natwest is a bank by the way

I think the grey/black tower is the tallest building in London (next to the pointy one at canary wharf that is)

my favouritest building ever

I don’t know what that building is called, but I still wanna live there.

stoopid flash

Another church/cathedral of some kind. It’s pretty impressive.

you have to walk under the road to get to the entrance.

The London IMAX Cinema. It’s pretty big!

I’ve been on it three or four times. It’s been a while though.

The London Eye. You can see the train is approaching the river; the final station is literally built on the bank on the opposite side.

normally this road is uber busy, but this was taken at like 10 am on a Sunday

After we get out of the station we walk onto the Strand, which is this big road. Its pretty quiet at this time on a Sunday morning, even the local hobo’s have buggered off to find breakfast. I decide to go get a cup of hot chocolate.

I wonder who lives there…must be stinkin rich

I saw this on my way to the Costa Coffee shop, and thought it was cool, so I took a picture. A Conservatory on the roof!

I stopped for half an hour in the coffee shop and had a big hot chocolate (with cream) and a blueberry muffin. It’s a rather relaxed refined way to start the day, but I do so enjoy it.

Then I headed into Covent Garden, where my shop is located.

again, quiet, cuz its Sunday. This is my favourite place in all of London. Well, one of them.

Covent Garden is essentially a huge square with a market in the middle. There’s some neat little shops there, and usually it’s the best place to do people watching.
I have to walk past those buildings and walk down a small street to get to my store.

that’s where I have to go work every day

Cotswolds Outdoor Store Covent Garden at your service…though we don’t open till 11 on a Sunday.

we have touch screen checkouts…it’s a lot of fun. Sometimes.

The till section, just inside the front door.

this is only a small fraction of the ground floor, its actually HUGE in reality.

Part of the ground floor. And if you go down into the basement…

I either work upstairs or downstairs. That is to say, I don’t do both floors in a single shift. One day I’ll be upstairs, the next day I’ll be downstairs…

More stuff!!!

By this time it’s like 10:40 and the store opens in 20 minutes, so I have time to go pee and attend the “one minute” meeting to check whats happening that day before we open and work begins proper.

And before I start work, I remember to offer up the Retail Worker’s Prayer:

Dear...(fill in name of your deity here)

Grant me the serenity to accept the
things i cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept
and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the jerks I had to kill today because they pissed me off.

Help me to be careful of the toes I tread on today because they may be connected to the ass I have to kiss tomorrow.

Help me to give 100% at work...
12% on Monday,
23% on Tuesday
40% on wednesday
20% on Thursday and
5% on Friday

And finally, help me to remember that when I’m having a bad day, and people are really trying to piss me off,
that it takes 42 muscles to frown, but only four to extend my middle finger and tell them to bite me.

AMEN!

Heh heh…. Working in retail makes you lose faith in humanity. ^^;;;

Well, I hope you enjoyed that. to find out what it’s like for me to go home, view the photos in reverse order and imagine its dark and there are lots and lots of people around.

Till next time!!!!
